"Spiderthroat!" With the day-by-day patrols largely handled, Wolfhive turned his attention on the Clan's unfortunate deputy. "Don't think I forgot about you old timer. We got a hawk targeting our kits in the clearing again - one scooped Seakit up 'n she's lucky Bumblestar managed to recover her. So your job is to hunt it down and kill it."

A quick sweep of the clearing decided Spiderthroat's patrol buddies. "Shockhoney [ @Rose], Snakepelt [ @rubberRatroom]! You'll be joining Spiderthroat in dealing with our hawk friend. Destroy the nest if you can so others don't move back in. And Spiderthroat..." he side-eyed the crusty tom. "If you don't do this, I'm going to have your kittens swarm you."

Oh look! Wolfhive was calling her over. Where once Shockhoney would have cringed and made faces at the Hornet behind his back, now she was grateful to have something to put her mind to. Without a single complaint, Shockhoney pranced over. (Fine, maybe she had spotted Lavendersong and Creepingpaw heading off on patrol and wanted to be a part of something too).

"Hulloooo." Okay, maybe she was in a chipper mood today. Lucky for Spiderthroat and Snakepelt, she supposed. "We're going to hunt this bird down," - phew, she wasn't name after a bird anymore. . . ah, that topic still had to be returned to - "and crush it, and kill it, and EAT it." And it's babies? Did it have babies? Were hawk babies edible?

Ooooooh, she was on patrol with the deputy, that was right! Look at her, being placed with important cats! "Hello Mr. Throat! Mister... oh, that's an unfortunate name." She cringed slightly. "I've heard all about your children! There's so many of them!" In truth, she'd only seen them once or twice in passing, and had no idea what their names were. Shockhoney just saw a kit and assumed it was Spiderthroat's if it was tiny enough. "Where do you think the hawk will be?"

There she went again, jumping from one topic to another. The epitome of SQUIRREL!

Owls, Foxes, Giant Weasels , Coyotes. Now hawks? This was making his head spin, StarClan decided that since they could no longer be pushed around by the other clans they'd send some preditors instead? Why not just toss in some badgers to even out the pot.

Stretching out his limbs as he rose, Spiderthroat looked up and around. "Do I get to use a kit as bait or did ya happen to see what direction it escaped." he wasn't one to argue. If there was a decent head on shoulders, he'll take orders. It's how he was raised. The clan knows he'll fight back if it's something he disagrees with.

Okay. Patrols. Should be easy, right? The tripod Medicine Cat limped out of his den, green eyes uncertain as he hobbled over below the stormcrest. Deep breath in, then out. "ThunderClan! Gather at my paws for patrols," he called out, thinking of who he should send where. "With ThunderClan being on lockdown, I want you to get what you can and return as soon as possible. I don’t want anymore blood to the predators then we already have. Got it?"

[Optional Prompt: It’s so hot! Why not take a dip in the water to cool off?]

"Alright… Cedarstrike [ @babysith ]! Can you take Snakefang [ @concord ] and… Laurelfrost [ @nykyrian ] to Sunkissed Creek in search of some cobwebs and moss? You guys must know what that is, so I’ll leave you to it," he said, nodding at them. So… what now?? Did he even do it right??? Guess he’ll find out.

[Optional Prompt: You were taking a drink of water and… BAM! A fish jumps right out of the water!]

Alright… who else could he send? "Mountiantalon [ @dino. ]! Could you take Shadeclaw [ @bigbxdwolfz ] and Peachpaw [ @nyme ] to uhh…" Think, think, think!! "How about you look around Cattail Pond to fetch some poppy seeds? They’re from these red flowers, and you can find a few in just one flower," he explained, trying to recall what Wolfhive told him and Hollowpaw about the herb. But things seemed to be going pretty well so far, so that was nice.

Now what? How many patrols should go out? Maybe two more? Yeah, two more should be good enough. "Now, could.. Uh… Orangeflower [ @Rowan ]! Could you please take Snakepelt [ @rubberRatroom ] and… Alpinepaw [ @Highsnow of Matterhorn ] to the Territory? Go ahead and look for some Tansy and Burdock. Tansy is a small, feathery and curly green stems with round yellow flowers, while Burdock is a tall-stemed thistle with dark leaves and black roots, and has a bitter taste." he informed them. One more should be good.

He knew exactly who to bring for this one. "Hey, Mudhound [ @Rani ]? You, me and uh…." Think!! You need another cat. "Flamesurge [ @Oliver ] are gonna go to Willow’s Rise to find whatever we can." called out. Out of all cats, he just had to choose Flamesurge. That was a stupid decision. But, too late now. So, the Medicine Cat just waited for his two patrolmates to show up, and they could get going and get back asap. Wolfpaw really didn’t feel like running into some predators right now.

Cedarstrike hmm'd as she was called for patrol. That would give her a chance to stretch her legs, then! She rolled her shoulders before calling out to her patrolmates. "Snakefang, Laurelfrost- Group up on me, please! We're on a medical run!" Cobwebs and moss... That was easy enough!

Oooop! Patrols with their puppy! ....Hmm patrols with their puppy and his brother despite the fact that Mudhound knew full well they werent close right now... OOOOOOOOOH! Mudhound got it! They were there to be supportive and help them bond again! And to help teach some herbs probably so Wolfpaw had more to heal with, they did tell their former apprentice they knew some herbs right? ...Probably!

So, pretending they didnt know what Wolfpaw was tooooootally up to with a wink the tripod grinned and chirped out a "I know some useful herbs we can find there! Borage burnet and elder flower! Ooooooh! We can even eat some of the elder berries as a snack while we're there, have a little picnic together while I teach you~ Itll be fun for all of us!" aaaaaaaand it'd provide natural bonding time for the two siblings, Mudhound was a genius!

When the bubbly she-cat had heard her name called by the new medicine cat she instantly perked her ears up and her head flicked in his direction. She had been daydreaming as the tom had called other patrols out but she didn’t expect to hear her own name. And she got to lead other cats with her! Super-duper cool. Okay then—she had to calm down. Act all noble and serious alright? Yeah- she could do that! Totally…right…right?

Ignore her brain, she leapt towards the exit of camp to separate herself from the gathering group a bit. She couldn’t be all jumbled in there and act orderly. “Snakepelt! Alpinepaw! C’mon, over here!” she rumbled out loudly, hoping the cats could hear her amongst all the other groups forming. And oh the thought of having an apprentice around! Hopefully that could prepare her for Willowpaw.

She watched boredly as Wolfpaw handed out patrols. Sympathy and amusement mixed at his nervousness. She was put on the first one called, cobwebs and moss were easy enough to gather. Plus she was glad to get out of camp. She quickly bounded over to Cedarstrike, impatiently standing in her vicinity as they waited for Snakefang. The silver tabby didn't bother greeting her patrolmate, there was no need for casualties, they knew what they were doing.
