Wrenkit paused in his assault of Buckstar to give Kes a salute before turning back to the tortoiseshell tom and staring unblinkingly into his eyes as if he could mentally impart his message to the leader. You better watch it, assistant, or you’ll be getting a pebble to the head.

The little tom let out an indignant squeal, at least made a face like he did despite the lack of noise, as Buckstar rose and sent him tumbling. Wren didn’t care whether Buck scolded Blackkit or Swallowkit or Starclan themselves- he’d knocked him over fair and square and now he deserved to be able to sit on him.

This wasn’t assisting at all! Wren glowered, but brightened at the realization of what the punishment was for not assisting. The calico scoured the ground for his quarry, tail flicking mischievously, and came up with a nice looking pebble. Taking aim and narrowing his owlish green eyes, Wrenkit let the pebble fly, aiming to bean Buckstar right on the head. Fortunately for Buckstar’s sake, Wren was a kit and had little muscle definition- even if the pebble struck it likely wouldn’t hurt that much.
