Flock Together [Tier 1] - Inactive

Mintkit had seemed understandably nervous as Lightningpaw tended to glows wounds. It wasn't easy. Knowing your mother was horrendously wounded while being hopelessly useless in aiding her. The medicine cat apprentice had been there just a few moons ago. Seen her mother seared, her leg burned beyond saving. Or so she believed. She would never find out now, seeing as how Gingerheart had disappeared. Again. Leaving a kit alone to fend for themselves. Again...

Sighing as she attempted to calm her storming thoughts, the lithe calico led the way, assessing the kit's movements as she took Mintkit to the nursery as per Cowtuft's instructions. If they could find one of the nursery queens to take care of little Mintkit while Lightningpaw rushed to hopefully help Cowtuft take care of Leafpelt, then everything would be fine. They would bring Mintkit's mother back, and they could go back to being a happy family. It didn't take long for her to find one of the permanent nursery residents here. A recent addition, but one she'd already seen in action during the tour. She had no doubt this queen would take proper care of the white kit.

"Alright there, Leopardsong? Sorry for the bother and all, but I was hoping you'd be able to take care of little Mintkit here, if just for a while? Seems he and his momma got in a bit of a tiff with a couple of talons. Gotta rush over and make sure everything's alright," Lightningpaw mewed, attempting to keep her voice lighthearted for Mintkit's sake as she approached the queen, taking a glance back to ensure glow was still following her. She couldn't have the kit reopening glows wounds when she had no more bandages to offer. It could become a lethal situation for the kit, and then what would she tell Leafpelt once she got to her?

Leopardsong swung her head in the direction of the entrance as Leechscar's former apprentice and a kit came walking in. The poor baby looked in pretty rough shape. The forever queen flattened her ears as Lightningpaw explained what happened to him. "Of course, I can take care of him. Just leave him with me and hurry on back to help your mentor." Leopardsong reassured the Lightningpaw with a friendly smile.

The molly quickly turned her attention to the kit with a warm grin and adoration in her copper-hued eyes. "Hey, sweetie, my name's Leopardsong would you like to come to sit with me in my nest?" Mintkit looked like he could use a long nap, some of those injuries look like they hurt a lot. The she-cat heart went out to the kit, she couldn't imagine why Leafpelt and Mintkit had been out of camp like this, nor how such disaster could have befallen them. The she-cat prays went up to StarClan in hopes that Leafpelt would have a swift recovery so she could take care of her kit. Until then, Leopardsong would happily treat Mintkit like he was one of her own kits.

The ginger she-cat began gathering the dirty moss to take out of camp so she could replace it with fresh moss for the kits and her fellow queens.

A look of relief quickly crossed Lightningpaw's face as she offered Leopardsong a genuine smile. She had gotten so used to not being able to truly depend on WindClan's warriors, she'd forgotten that there were some that still cared for their clanmates. But then, what had she been expecting from a permanent queen? She had obviously chosen her role because she cared for the young of the clan. Mintkit would be in good paws here.

"Ta, Leopardsong," Lightningpaw chirped, turning to give the young kit one last look before bounding out.

The lithe calico had no idea what to expect. There didn't seem to be a big ruckus going on in the clearing. No sign that anyone was hurt. Had Mintkit been wrong? Had glow and glows mother been further away? Whatever the case, she had no time to return to the medicine cat's den. There weren't enough herbs there to help anyways. Gritting her teeth at the thought, she ran, hoping she wasn't too late to help her mentor save the queen's life.
