Shimmeringpool padded gracefully along with her apprentice, Wavepaw. "Excited to learn how to fish?" Turning her gaze to the younger molly as they ventured further into Riverclan territory.

Ripplewhisker padded out from camp, Dreampaw following close behind him. The tom had luckily gotten time to take his apprentice out for a training session again, deciding to visit the cattail pond. Ripplewhisker always loved fishing there, it was one of his favorite types of prey after all. Arriving at the outskirts of the pond, the silver tom looked back at Dreampaw. "You ready for some fishing? I know you probably don't need practice but I thought it would be something relaxing." He said with a grin.

Dreampaw looked at her mentor and swished her tail. "I actually haven't done too much fishing." She wrinkled her nose. Being a former SkyClan cat, even though it was seasons ago, she was still somewhat used to her old ways, and not the RiverClan ways. She could swim efficiently, but hadn't worked much on fishing.

"Land hunting, not fishing?" He asked finally, giving his chest fur a few quick licks before giving up on fixing his appearance.

"Yes, land hunting. It'll be better for you to dry off." He winked, walking a little ways away to shake off. "Then you can fix your fur."

Sparrowfrost opened his mouth and sniffed the air, hoping to find at least a vole close enough to them. He wanted to get as much training done as possible before the moon rose.

Fenpaw nodded in understanding. "Good idea." He meowed, definitely not minding time to dry himself off before returning to camp. The tom knew he looked small and weak with his fluffy fur weighed down and he rathered nobody else saw him that way until he was older and bigger and just... less scrawny altogether.

"We scent the air, right? To find prey?" He had seen one of his parents do this when he had still lived with them as a loner. He had been really young then but had a fantastic memory of even his youngest days. The smaller tom copied what Sparrowfrost had done, opening his mouth and drawing in air. He could vaguely smell some familiar scents he knew from the fresh-kill pile, but it was all quite jumbled.

Sparrowfrost watched him, glad he was picking everything up so quickly. "Now, to know the difference in scents, it'll take some time. Right now I smell a vole, a mouse, and a few different birds. Frogs are hard to smell around water." He sniffed the air again. "I think mice smell more like wood."

He started towards the trees, feet soft as he tried finding the small rodent. "Just keep your senses open."

"Really? Well I guess my gut was correct to go here today." Ripplewhisker purred, moving closer to the pond. "It's good for training too, in my opinion. Some good prey here, and they aren't too hard to catch." He said, his teal eyes following the shadows of the silvery creatures swimming in the pond. "Do you want to try and get the first catch?" He offered, a friendly smile on his muzzle.

Dreampaw nodded and sat next to the pond, paw outstretched above it very very still. She saw a fiah come closer, and with a swift motion, plunged her paw into the water to hook the fish. The fish had seen her shadow and quickly swam off. With a huff, she dropped her paw by her chest and looked at her mentor.

Skidding to a stop beside the water, Splashpaw slipped into her fishing stance. She had fished before, and wanted to show her mentor how good she was. Seeing a fish, she swung her paw at it, but missed, gouging the bank instead. With a rueful Oops she decided to wait for her mentor. @Snowstripe
