Re: Seastones
Bravebird
Her mind couldn't begin to imagine the sort of disillusion that Fernpaw was encountering right now. Having the reputation of a cat he had once idolized ripped to shreds had to not be a good feeling, and Bravebird felt her heart tighten at the thought. For no longer than a second, she wished that she had not said anything, but that was quickly shooed from her mind. Of course she was glad. She was many things - loud, brash, sometimes overbearing. But Bravebird was not a liar, and Fernpaw did not deserve a sugarcoated truth of crimes committed by a cat he had once considered a friend. Blue eyes melted into soft pools as Fernpaw continued on, speaking to how it had been when he had first met Kestrelstar. "Some cats... they will hide who they truly are. But Fernpaw, you must remember that it is no fault of your own. Kestrelstar committed these acts, and you loving him and once believing that he couldn't do it -- that does not make you a monster. It makes him and Snakeheart the monsters." Bravebird had other words she would've used, but refrained for the comfort of Fernpaw. The next part caused her demeanor to crack a little as her whiskers twitch humorously. Asocial, arrogant smartass. Briefly she wondered if her Clanmates described her in the same way - minus the asocial part. "The name doesn't sound familiar, but I believe you, Fernpaw." That was important for Bravebird, to let her apprentice know that she took him seriously. Next would be speaking to Twilightstar about this. She knew the WindClan leader was aligned with RiverClan, but the sudden rage Bravebird felt at the confirmation of her gut feeling was enough to set her jaw in a line. "We have to tell Twilightstar. I don't want WindClan helping cats who will go as far as to poison others just to prove their strength." She would do anything for WindClan, she would fight until there was no longer air in her lungs - but she wouldn't do that. She wouldn't sink so low to fight unfairly, to dip her claws in anything other than loyalty for her Clan. With another glance at Fernpaw, she pressed her flank gently against his in a show of comfort. "I'm sorry he was not the cat you thought he was." [ @JAE. ] |
Re: Seastones
Fernpaw had closed his eyes briefly, listening to the sound of the water lapping the shoreline. For just a moment. Trying to make himself feel calm, to quell the sadness and remorse that stirred in his chest. "I'm not angry with myself." He didn't think he came off like that, and wanted to make sure Bravebird's own concerns were quelled. "But I don't wish to be associated with them. I don't.. know if I ever will want to be." Though RiverClan as a whole was not at fault, it disturbed him greatly two cats could openly do such terrible things and not be held accountable.
But he made a promise, and he'd at least do his best to see it through. ".. I'm glad you believe me." It'd be kind of upsetting if she thought he was being dishonest, that wasn't an image he wanted to conjure. Fernpaw prided himself on being as truthful as possible. And he had faith in Stormtalon's words, especially now there was confirmation in the living realm. "I hope she listens, there's no strength in cruelty." If she supported RiverClan in the future, the thought made his stomach twist uncomfortably. He didn't push away her comfort, but reached up to bop her cheek with his nose. He was pretty tired of thinking of Kestrelstar, of Snakeheart, of how far RiverClan had fallen from the Clan he thought he knew. "Let's just go home." The less he saw of them, the best. [ @marni ] |
Re: Seastones
Bravebird
She was glad to hear that Fernpaw was not angry for himself - as he definitely should not be. His concerns about being associated with RiverClan were founded in Bravebird as well, for the she-cat no longer even wished to spare a glance in their direction. Vile, filthy lies had been the only thing to come out of their mouths as far as she was concerned, and she would make sure if not Twilightstar, that the entirety of the four Clans knew just how venomous they were. There's no strength in cruelty. A smile graced the young warrior as Bravebird let out a pleased purr. Already Fernpaw was growing into a fine young cat, and would make an excellent addition to the warrior ranks of WindClan when the time eventually came. "Of course I believe you," she reassured, though Bravebird knew reassurance was not needed. There might have been others that would not take an apprentice at their word, who would dismiss their claims as nothing more than squandered time. Bravebird would never be one of them. As his nose bopped her check, she couldn't help but laugh a little. So far they had both come from the cats they were upon their first meeting. She liked to think that she was perhaps a little less reckless, and Fernpaw definitely had more courage. How fitting it was to see the growth they had given each other. With a nod, Bravebird began the trek back to WindClan camp. [ @JAE. just wrapping this one up too! ] |
Re: Seastones
Cinderstar
With the gathering winding down and ThunderClan going home, Cinderstar slipped off of the rocks and onto the sand below, moving a bit towards the side of the large rocks before turning to wait for Skystar. It was difficult to keep her anger under control. She had thought about having a warrior or two stay with her, but that would only escalate things - though she figured the RiverClan leader might bring some cat with him. "I am going to say this as clearly as I can, Skystar," she began, jumping straight into it. "You had every opportunity to return Cinderpaw to us. Your warrior could have brought her to our medicine cat who was there at the cove in plain sight for every cat to see. Or, in the two moons that you've had her, you could have brought her directly to the border instead of "healing her for free" and continuing to use your "precious" resources on her. You made the choice to keep her, for whatever sick and twisted game you're playing now." A slight flash of anger shot through her gaze, the first sign of it she let slip through. If this disillusioned tom thought Cinderstar or ThunderClan were just going to hand over prey and herbs because they wanted to be twisted, crooked, and vile, he had another thing coming. "You ignored your own drowned apprentice. Sparrowflight had to jump in to rescue the body of Marigoldpaw. You simply turned away. A young life snuffed out, an apprentice of your own Clan, you ignored their death as though it was inconvenient to you." Stars, the anguish she still felt from that showed on her face. "So forgive me for not believing that Cinderpaw has been treated with the "utmost respect" in your Clan." Setting her jaw into a firm line, Cinderstar continued. "You will return Cinderpaw, or we will come and take her back. The choice, once again, is yours." [ @marshall - closed ] |

➵ skystar ❀⋆˚₊⁻∘・
// ➵ @marni it seemed cinderstar wanted to skip all the small talk and get straight to the point. skystar enjoyed that since it would allow him to get home faster "this is the first im hearing of this 'sick and twisted game' that you're going on about. riverclan has done nothing but help you, thunderclan. we lent you our territory, we overthrew your leaders for you, and at the top of all of it, we healed your own apprentice. and time of time again thunderclan has just spat in the face of us, attacking our members at the border, trespassing on our land and a multitude of other things im sure. if you truly believe us to be the wicked then you truly just have your head up your ass. i can't just stop a whole battle just because of death, they knew what they were getting into in coming into that battle, nothing was forced upon them. they were honored after the battle, of course you wouldn't know that." skystar snarled. "keep on with this self-righteousness, see where it lands you with the other clans. your apprentice is fine, and will be returned in due time. very soon even, shes been more of a nuisance than shes worth. know this, if you don't repay us it most certainly will come back to claw you." skystar had no interest in keeping this conversation going, anything that needed to be said had been and he wasn't looking to argue. with a sharp wave of his tail, he turned his back on the leader and made his way back home. he was getting awfully tired of this whole thunderclan situation. |
Re: Seastones
Cinderstar
The more she spoke to Skystar, the more one thing became clear; Kestrelstar had bees in his brain to choose this cat to succeed him. Darkness swirled in the air around the RiverClan leader, and though a lot of what he said came as a surprise - border crossing, attacking cats at the battle - she kept a straight face. She could point out the hypocrisy of his statements and actions, and how he still refused to take accountability for any damage his cats had caused. But it would be the same old song and dance. If Skystar wanted to burn every bridge and take his own Clan down along with him, then so be it. ThunderClan would come for the apprentice, Cinderstar knew it as she watched him leave with narrowed eyes. Like a kit too immature to have an actual conversation, lashing his tail about and stomping off. How in StarClan's name that cat had been given nine lives was beyond her. Whatever followed tonight, the blood would be on the leaders paws. He wanted to talk at her like that, and then simply turn and march off? Cinderstar had no faith in the words he spoke, that she would be returned soon. A soft sigh left her as she turned her gaze to the stars. "I wish you were here with me..." she whispered, knowing that wherever her mother was she would be able to hear her. As the wind danced around her and ruffled her fur, she was reminded that this decision would not be hers to make alone - though she saw no path in which ThunderClan decided to take this rolling over. A Clanmate had been stolen, and Cinderstar did not believe for one second that a leader who had ignored the death of his own Clanmates would ever treat an apprentice of another Clan with any sort of dignity or respect. She waited until Skystar was out of view, until Seastones was practically empty. Then, with a gentle shake of her head, she got to her paws and turned to follow the path back home towards ThunderClan. |
Re: Seastones
bumblebreak === > @birdie The last time she had been anywhere near the Seastones, she had run into an infuriating, irritating, fur-raising RiverClan asshat that made her feel... things. She felt things about Violetfreckle. Mostly violent things, sure, but also other things she didn't at ALL understand and would rather not spend hours thinking about. GrrrARGH this outing was supposed to be THOUGHT-CLEARING and PEACEFUL but right now Bumblebreak REALLY wanted to just dunk her head in ocean water. |

One Could Only, Truly, Hope That Curiousity didn't land them dead. Oak Knew That. But That Wouldn't Stop Oak From His Quest, Which his Mama might get Angry about later.
Oak Just had to See these Clan Cats for Himself. The best proof of something was to see it right? Right! Let's See if any clan cat is about! Oak wasn't scared! No! This Little Brown Tom-cat was the Fiercest thing in the Forest! and he'd prove it too! by meeting a real Warrior! Oak took a moment to pounce on some limp Seaweed before sitting down and popping his claws in and out of the slimy, frozen stuff (open) |
