"She... She woke up in the middle of night and started coughing. She couldn't breathe. She insisted she was fine and just took some medicine and fell asleep. This morning she wouldn't wake up. Until you got here. And then... She let go."

He closed his eyes. This is all my fault. He thought. I should've been there for her.

Oak walked out of the room. He came back with a pair of tickets to Paris. "These were meant for me and Dapple, but I want you to take them. You need a break from Jagged Points."

"I don't want Paris." He said. "I want my mother."

"Storm... I'm sorry..." He dropped the tickets beside his son. He decided not to move Rain. Oak walked out the door, downstairs and into the garage. Rain was still sobbing beside her mother.

Storm took the tickets and kissed his mother. "I'll miss you?" He walked into his room and began packing a bag.
