Gracklepaw's ears perked right up as he heard his name being called. The tom padded over to the entrance of the apprentice den and poked his head out to identify Slytiger as the one that called him for training. He walked over to his mentor with a cheerful grin.

As his mentor questioned him, Gracklepaw grew a little bit embarrassed. "Uhm, everything, really. My old mentor never really took me around the territory or taught me anything. Then he just... vanished."

"I do know some hunting! But it's sloppy and unprofessional because I never really got taught." He admitted. His blue eyes flitted from his mentor to the floor, feeling shameful for his lack of training. But with Slytiger's training, hopefully he'd be able to contribute more to the Clan, besides that one patrol he'd done.

. . .
@Ian - i don't mind at all! doesn't matter to me where we no it!

Slytiger grinned back at Gracklepaw when his apprentice approached. He had been a little worried that he would be assigned one who didn't care about training or would be overly difficult, but that didn't seem to be the case. Still, his grin was replaced by a frown when Gracklepaw explained their previous mentor hadn't trained them. That just wouldn't do at all!

"Don't worry about it. We'll start with a tour of the territory and we can do some hunting while we're out if you're up for it. You'll be warrior material in no time. And this should go without saying, but I won't be offended if you get lessons from others. In fact, I even encourage it. Obviously I'm going to teach you all I can and do my best to guide you, but that doesn't mean you should pass by other opportunities to learn something new or improve your skills. The greatest warriors are the ones who are proactive," he explained, finishing his speech with another grin before beckoning Gracklepaw to follow with a flick of his tail as he headed for the camp entrance.

"We'll start with Shadow's Break since we shouldn't hunt there and go from there."

[feel free to post with Grackle at Shadow's Break if you want! i also apologize for the delay, i have a group paper and presentation for a final and my wifi provider had an outage over the weekend T-T]

Re: ShadowClan Clearing

Shrewstep might end up regretting this. But that was always a risk when doing ANYTHING in Shadowclan. Anything could result in a smacking from Dawnstar or one of the Enforcers, or general social embarrassment that Fiercefire would no doubt learn of and use as a source of ridicule the next time they spoke. But whatever. There was also the possibility that his 'endeavor' would be looked upon fondly. Who knew who knew who knew? Shrewstep certainly didn't, but he was also bored, so he was going to solicit the attention of the apprentices. They always seemed more energetic than the warriors, him included generally, though not today. Today Shrewstep was endeavoring to provide an opportunity for them to do something with all that ambitious energy, and prove that they were actually trying to get their training done. If they didn't take him up on it when he OFFERED, they really had no right to complain about innefectivity from their mentors.

Apprentices! It was supposed to be slightly more impressive than it ended up being, more of a loud suggestion than a commanding yowl. Then again, this wasn't a full event or anything which typically required an Enforcer or Dawnstar or Medicine Cat, so it was probably a good idea to keep the volume a little lower. If you lack battle training or simply want to get some extra practice, I'll take as many as want to come Icy Heartlands and we'll do a bit of sparring. Icy Heartlands was, in his opinion, one of the least exciting parts of the territory, and therefore the least likely to have predators or other clans pop out of nowhere. There also wasn't much prey to scare off, or many herbs to damage. All in all, the perfect place for a potentially rowdy gang of apprentices to muck about. If another warrior wanted to come along and help supervise Shrewstep wouldn't begrudge the help, but he also thought himself capable of running a lesson of some use to any apprentice on his own. It simply remained to be seen who, if anyone at all, would want to come. (OPEN!!!! Shrew'll probably head out on the 11th or 12th as long as someone's replied!)

[Hawkbite]
Enforcer Commander
Shadow Fiend | Agatha Kitty

Muscles rippled beneath a sleek pelt as the Commander stretched. His spine crackled a little under the tension. With the nonstop work around the clan, the release felt amazing, even if only for a moment. Perhaps a warranted release with the troublesome case he was about to encounter. Across the clearing, an apprentice lounging lazily would catch his eyes. A grumble would escape his throat, but he finished his stretch before his paws began leading him towards the younger feline.

Who was this one? Grousepaw, right? He'd been trying to keep track of names and training since he seemed to train almost every apprentice that walked into this clan. Lazy ass warriors. A bitter thought.

"Hey you," Hawkbite made his presence known as he closed the distance between them. His tail swayed lazily behind him, signaling a weak greeting. "Started any training yet? If you have time to linger, you have time to get a lesson in."

Pigeonpaw

Pigeonpaw was restless. She was finally an apprentice now, so shouldn't that mean her mentor would train her? Sure, she had gotten a tour of the territory -but like- she wanted to do other stuff too! A part of her had been looking forward to daily training, but apparently, it was more of an I've-got-some-spare-time-so-lets-get-this-over-with-sorta thing. But today she was in luck! Becasue, despite Yelly being busy with some other bigcat-things, an opportunity just walked right into the middle of the clearing and called.

Battle training? "Oh meee!" With a joyful bounce in her steps, the grey apprentice bounded over to Shrewstep. This was perfect.

Rottenheart heard that. Uhg, Shrewstep would likely get in trouble for this, knowing Dawnstar, so he stepped up, glared coldly and said in a stern tone. ''May I suggest something? I could be of assistance for training the apprentices''. As always, Rottenheart used his overly formal choice of words. The stone-faced tom's tail twitched impatient as he waited for an answer, his lifeless bronze eyes never leaving Shrewstep's.

(Warning, Rottenheart is a meanie)

Cloverkit sat in the clearing, his gaze flickering from cat to cat. Her fluffy tabby fur blew against the soft breeze passing through the clearing, and their green eyes were sharp. They landed on a cat who was still a stranger to her - Rookpaw. Rookpaw had just recently joined Cloverkit's home clan of ShadowClan, and if he remembered correctly, she was a fish [A RiverClanner].
He was always curious on how a cat could love water so much. It made no sense to them. Neverless, she was clanmates now. The tiny brown tabby fluffed up her fur before trotting over to the former fish. She smiled, her green eyes wide. "Hello! Name's Cloverkit! Rookpaw, right? Heard you used to be a fish. How in StarClan did your clan like water?" he inquired, sitting himself down. He licked his chest to brush it down before it puffing back up. They blinked in annoyance before turning back to see if Rookpaw would say anything.
