"Your mother is only one of my dearest, most loved friends." he purred to the kits. "And yes, it does seem that I have found you." This was the most relaxed he had been in a while. It was nice to talk with his kits, his offspring, his family.

He hadn't really had any family to talk with as an apprentice, or a kit. Something he regretted. He knew part of it was his fault, spacing himself from them because of his shame that he forced on himself due to his twisted paw. He knew he forced most of his stress, depression, and struggles upon himself, but he didn't exactly know how to not do it. And things only seemed to be getting worse the closer he came to his family. Just the mere fact that he was responsible for six cats, Strikerkit, Beachkit, Redkit, Sagekit, Scorchedpetal, and himself, it was overburdening for him.

"So, since it seems we met right here, why don't we do something? I promise, your mother is fine. Do you really think I would let her go out by herself if I thought she wasn't capable enough to do it?" He asked, proud to see that his kits were worried for their mother. It seemed that they did have a piece of him stuck in there somewhere.

Beachkit was awestruck. Why....How...what had happened to him for him not to see this? Wow...what a mousebrain he was. A wide smile cracked his maw as he smiled up at Cliffheart. "So..you're our Dad? Neat."

Cliffheart chuckled. "Your one and only Cliffheart father. I don't think there's any one like me out there. Except for you. You look like some cat shrunk me down to kit size." He laughed a little, another rare thing for him. "As for you," he said to Redkit. "You act a lot like your mother." he meowed warmly.

After finding out the he was their father, the small burnt red kit padded back up to the bigger tom. With her tiny paws, the she kit jumped up onto him, barely reaching the length of his chest fur, but she managed with both her claws sheathed. ''If you're our father, how come you never came to visit us?'' She could only picture him there at her birthing. But she had been born eyes sealed and ears deaf, but her scent was strong, and she very much remembered the scent of every cat present in that den. She felt her body become warm at the compliment. From observation, Redkit followed her mother, taking in every endearing trait to mask her own. In Redkit's eyes, Scorchedpetal was the best cat alive. The best cat in her life. Evidently, every kit would believe their parents to be the best warriors out there. It was common sense, and since Redkit admired her mother very much, she found it like a tick in her fur that she would feel a large amount of sadness overwhelming her if she ever disappointed her mother.

And, now?...now she met her father. The larger version of Beachkit. How could her brother not figure this out? They were practically like twins! Now, she even locked the larger tom's name in her mind. Cliffheart...that was her father's name. Even though the kit wasn't on the same mission as Beachkit, she found it comforting that they had another member to look up to. At least,to Redkit that's what it seemed.

Redkit gingerly allowed her paws to touch the ground once more. At hearing the relief of her mother, who else was there to trust? This was their father, and he seemed to care for their mother as much as they did. Redkit knew she could trust him. The female kit entered into a playful crouch, displaying a mouthful of small sharp teeth. ''Can we go hunting?--'' She paused, then got back up. ''Ohhh! No,no, can we explore the lands?'' Then, once again, she shook her head, ''No, no, no--we can play games!'' She piped, but immediately fell into a silent state, giving a sheepish grin. ''I never can make up my mind.'' She mewed, and let out a nervous giggle. Whatever her father decided for them to do, the she kit knew it would be fun. The thought of just seeing him and getting to know him was special to her. Most of her young life, she only knew the presence of her mother and brothers. Those only made up a quarter. Cliffheart was a half. And, with him, the she kit felt her family pierced into a wholeness.

Gingerblossom padded swiftly into the clearing, unusual for the normally bubbly she-cat. She needed time to cool off, to get her mind cleared again. Gingerblossom knew that food would help with that. The calico had already hunted earlier in the day, so she deemed it okay if she ate now. Quickly,
she chose a squirrel from the fresh-kill pile, happy that her favorite prey was there. Gingerblossom then walked briskly across the clearing to her favorite eating spot, a smooth patch of earth underneath hanging fern fronds. Laying down, the warrior let out a sigh. She should be able to get ahold of herself now. What is wrong with me? I can't have a breakdown now... Not now.. Gingerblossom knew that Blazingcomet had followed her into the camp, and she hoped that he had something better to do at this moment. The only time Ginger thought this was when she could feel herself on the verge of a breakdown, which was now.

She took a big bite of the squirrel, relishing the warm taste of the fresh-kill.
She could still feel all of her negative feeling pushing at the surface. "Come on Ginger, let us out!" That seemed to be what they were saying to Gingerblossom. The she-cat let out a small moan and closed her eyes tight.
Please... Please no.. not now, if ever, not now!!

Please... Please no.. not know, if ever, not know!!

Now, Blazingcomet had indeed followed the feline into the Clearing. And of course he was going to approach her. Why wouldn't he? Never did the idea that she might be upset and not want to see him at the moment enter his mind. Why wouldn't she? Still, the tom could sense some sort of frustration coming off her. She hadn't so much as looked back at him the whole way there! And, she seemed to be trying to escape. That's crazy. Only a completely insane she cat would try to escape me. And in his mind, that was the truth. He had already established she wasn't playing hard to get, and no one was 'uninterested,' at least not in him, so then why was she running away? Blazingcomet bounded towards her-- at least, half-bounded-- he stopped once he had entered a more crowded area of the clearing. After all, he didn't want to look like he was desperate.
Because he wasn't! Sort of. Truth be told, the tom was running out of felines who seemed interested. He'd 'dated and ditched' every one who showed even the slightest bit of interest, or that he showed interest for. Which was quite a bit. But, he'd been doing this for almost 10 moons now... closer to nine, but what did it matter? The point was it had been a while. Two she cats a moon. That was almost 20, and that was a lot for Blazingcomet. Still... if he could at least gain Gingerblossom's interest then he would be happy, and it would make an even 20. Perfect. A purr emitted from his chest and throat as he realized how excited he would be.
That was, if she chose to pay interest to him. Approaching her, the tom slowed his pace a little and stopped a tail-length away from her. She cats could be dangerous until treated with a little respect and kindness. Nothing wrong with that! He so had this. "Hey!! Gingerblossom, you alright, sweetheart?" Whoops. Calling her 'sweetheart' probably wasn't the smartest choice he ever made. Flinching inwardly, all Blazingcomet could do was wait to see her reaction.

Gingerblossom heard Blazingcomet pad up. Being a very social butterfly, Ginger had developed a skill, where she could recognize the gaits of her fellow cats. Within a few minutes of meeting them, she already learns to recognize the way they walk. The pale-furred she-cats thoughts were confirmed as she smelled Blazing's scent and heard him speak. At his words, the surge of negative emotions that was threatening to take over Ginger burst through to her brain. Gingerblossom immediately let out a groan, and could feel tears pooling at the edge of her eyes. Why did this have to happen now?!She stood, her brain unfocused. She felt as if she could barely feel herself,
her mind was foggy, and she didn't know what she was doing. Negative thoughts poured into her mind, one by one, but faster and faster, becoming so fast that she didn't even know what some of them were.

What have I done in the past five moons? Have I driven anyone away? I sure hope not, I've been so nice to everyone! Have I really though? What if I thought I was being nice, but the others didn't perceive it that way. And what about this upcoming battle with the Dusk Syndicate? I can't fight in that.
I am useless to my clan, I can't even battle another cat with my claws sheathed! I am disloyal too! Because I am nice to every cat! WHY I am such a horrible warrior? I should've just stayed a kittypet and never, ever come here!

What Gingerblossom didn't realize is that she had said the last sentence out loud. Her voice was full of regret and sadness, and tears were now streaming down her cheeks Her eyes were clouded and unfocused, if any cat looked close enough they would realize something defiantly was up. There were so many emotions running through Gingerblossom right now, her pelt was rippling,
and her whole body seemed to be shaking. The warrior's eyes narrowed as they focused on Blazingcomet. She felt a surge of hatred, of course Ginger couldn't control any of this when she broke down.

"You!" She growled, baring her teeth and stalking towards him, claws starting to unsheathe. "You lying, thieving, disloyal fox-heart!" She hissed, coming closer. "I can't believe I ever thought you were SUCH a nice cat!" Gingerblossom raised her paw to claw him across the face, but then her eyes snapped back into focus. As she saw what she was doing, unbelief and fear flashed into her mint-green eyes. She backed away, tears still streaming down her face. "Blazingcomet, I-I..." She trailed off, backing away even more."What is wrong with me?" She whispered, before whipping around and bolting towards the opposite side of camp.

I can't believe I ever thought you were such a nice cat?
Okay, so... Blazingcomet hadn't ever really been labeled as 'nice.' Friendly, outgoing, flirtatious, but nice? That wasn't a word that he had heard used to describe him. So when Gingerblossom spoke... his expression changed and his hues became wider. Flinching away, he wondered if she was actually going to strike him. He wouldn't stop her. Perhaps he deserved it. Using my expert skills, I would say... she's upset about something. Yes. Upset about something definitely seemed to describe the way Gingerblossom looked.
But, unknown to himself, Blazingcomet was no expert. Truth be told he was the opposite. So when she had mentioned something about 'staying a kittypet' and 'never, ever coming here,' he hadn't knonw what to do. Comforting? Not his strong point. "I think you should calm down a little." Wrong thing to say. What was wrong with him would be a better question? Was he completely oblivious to her state, or just choosing to be selfish and ignore it, setting his own needs high above her own? Talk about being rude. Blazingcomet seemed to be wonderful at being rude, especially right now, when he was acting like such a jerk towards the young, pretty dappled she cat.
And then she was crying. What??? First she was friendly and happy. Then aggressive and angry. Now she was crying? What was going on with her? Maybe it had been a mistake to approach her in the first place, but the tom realized if there was ever a time to tap into his sympathetic, caring side, it was right now. "Uhh..." But before he could say anything, she was already fleeing. "Wait! Please don't--" he stopped for a moment, watching her for just a second before sighing. "Go." Okay. Was he supposed to chase her? Stay still? This had never, ever happened before... not to him.
Stay calm. Go over there and be a gentleman. Be nice for once in your life, and not for your gain. Ouch. That thought hurt, but it was all there was left to do. And if it didn't work, then so be it... she must not want his company or his comfort. Taking a deep breath, Blazingcomet followed her, padding slowly across the clearing. "Gingerblossom? I'm-- I'm sorry, it's... my fault. I shouldn't have pushed you. There's... there's nothing wrong with you, I'm just... selfish." OUCH! That hurt his pride even more, but if it was what he needed to say, he might as well say it.
"And greedy."
Another pang of pain. "And uncaring." Wow, this was really hurting. "Sorry you ended up wasting time with me." Okay, enough of putting himself down. Quite enough. A shudder went down his spine and he shook a little, before sighing. "Look. No one's... ever really called me a 'nice' cat before. So, you would be the first. And... I just want you to know it meant a lot, and I understand if you don't trust me anymore, but... maybe we could still be friends?" Oops. Probably not the best thing to say after his little confession but hey, honesty always counted for him. Perhaps she would be willing to forgive and forget. Or, he would settle for forgive... but both would be the most coveted thing in his mind.

Gingerblossom couldn't stand that Balzingcomet was apologizing for things that he clearly, (In her mind) didn't do. She was over her break down now, and she wiped her face with a paw, clearing away the leftover tears.
"Blazingcomet." She said, looking into the larger cat's eyes. She took a deep breath, prepared to tell him something that she hated to admit to anyone.
Even Gingerblossom had a small streak of stubbornness. "I have to tell you something. That whole... thing back there? That wasn't me. I know it sounds crazy, but sometimes I have these breakdowns, where I can't control myself." Gingerblossom took a deep breath as she continued. "I am really, really, really sorry I acted like that in front of you. I usually am alone when my breakdowns happen. I didn't mean any of those things that I said." Gingerblossom could feel tears starting to well up again. She really didn't want Blazingcomet to only remember her for what he had seen of her today.
"That cat you saw, that's not me." Gingerblossom meowed, seriousness entering her eyes as she looked back up at Blazingcomet.

Gingerblossom was starting to be herself again, her eyes were brightening up,
and her ears were no longer flattened against her head. "I do trust you Blazingcomet. I'm sorry if it seems like I didn't." Gingerblossom cocked her head to the side slightly. "If you need proof I trust you, just ask." A smile spread across her face, showing she was willing to do what it takes to show the ginger tom he had her trust. "And yes, of course we can be friends. Who wouldn't want to be friends with you?" Her meow was enthusiastic, she truly believed the words she was saying. For a moment, Gingerblossom's gaze turned serious again. "Never doubt my loyalty Blazingcomet. It is one of the most stable things you may ever have." Then her gaze lightened again, and the pale-furred warrior purred happily. "Want to finish that squirrel?" The she-cat pointed her tail across the clearing to where her squirrel lay, abandoned.

Her description of what happened somewhat scared Blazingcomet. So... there were times when things just 'happened?' What did she mean, there were times that she couldn't control herself? Ohh... this had been a bad idea. Okay, you can do this. Just, uh, friends is good. Friends is fine. Settle for that. Just until you figure this out, right? Just until you figure this out. Blazingcomet was confident that he wouldn't have to stop trying to gain Gingerblossom's interest. He would just have to be careful from now on. A code word might be good, because believe it or not, he was nervous as a kit.
Yes! Blazingcomet, nervous. "So, uh... wow. That must be pretty tough. Hey, we should have like, a special word that you can say whenever this is about to happen and I can help you, okay? It's not your fault that happens." I guess. Oops. He hadn't meant to think that, but he didn't quite know what to say or do for a moment. Was it her fault, yes or no? If she couldn't control it, then it couldn't be. "When-- when did this start happening?" He asked. It would be tough to live like that. Wondering if you were about to break down in front of someone, and accidentally doing it, too... that would definitely be way, way too much for Blazingcomet to deal with.
The feline sounded so serious when she told him that her loyalty was one of the most stable things he might ever have. One of the most stable things. Well, Blazingcomet didn't really have anything stable right now. He wasn't really... on solid ground at the moment. "Thank you." And the tom meant it. He was thankful that Gingerblossom was offering him something solid that he didn't currently have in his life. A solid ground to stand on. Something that he could hold onto for the rest of his life... or at least for the next few moons. Perhaps he wouldn't get bored of the pretty she cat.
She didn't quite seem like the type that he would get bored of. At her mention of the squirrel, he followed the direction of her tail across the clearing and shrugged a little. "If you're sure you don't want it," he mewed with the slightest of smiles. He glanced at the she cat with a puzzled expression. So... she couldn't control this. It wasn't her fault. He would have to remember that, and be sure that he kept himself under control. Otherwise things could quickly go downhill. Something that Blazingcomet would rather avoid. After all, he really did like the feline. He wanted to make sure that she was comfortable around him. But she had already confirmed that she wanted to be friends. So therefore... he would be able to keep her friendship, right? Of course.

As he listened, he did find himself apologizing her appearance and couldn't miss the rather obvious scar on her head. Though he couldn't tell what it was from, it let him know that she at least had some sort of strength and resilience to her, a good trait for a warrior of Skyclan to have.
"Good to hear. Now what made you decide to try and join a clan, to leave your life as a loner in the past? And what do you know of clan life?"

"I decided to leave because I couldn't live with myself knowing I was from a clan. I know alot of things about clan life because i was in a clan just a moon rise before becoming an apprentice." she said.

Of course.

At his suggestion of a special word, Gingerblossom gave him a puzzled look, but then nodded, starting to understand what he was suggesting. "Yeah, that would be good. How about something like...." She trailed off, looking around for something, something that wouldn't be too weird to just say. "Flower?" Her mint-colored eyes were fixed on the flower patch behind Blazingcomet, the one where she liked to go and choose new flowers each day. She lowered voice and leaned a little closer to the tom. "It doesn't happen that often, and my mother told me I could find a way to control it."

When Blazingcomet asked when it started, Gingerblossom only smiled. "Well, it started when I left home, determined not to be a Kittypet anymore, and when my... m-my..." Her smile faded, and her tail twitched a little. But the warrior swallowed and continued her sentence. "After my mother died." Gingerblossom looked at her paws. No tears came out, but she still felt a little sadness. This was normal though, whenever Ginger thought about her mother. "After she died, I had no one. She told me that no matter what other cats did, every cat had some good in them." The pale-furred she-cat slowly turned her gaze back to Blazingcomet. "Those were her last words. And after that, I promised myself I wouldn't be mean to anyone. I promised myself that no matter what any cat did or said, I would always look at them in the best light." Gingerblossom sighed. "Well, in doing that, there is no spot for all my negative emotions to go. Every cat has them, even me." She laughed a little, a small, pity sort of laugh. "I need to learn how to control it."

"Yes, I am sure I don't want it." She finished, smiling again. Gingerblossom knew the rest of today would be a bit hard, but her positive outlook on life had fully come back, and she was once more that lovable, happy-go-lucky feline. "Thanks for listening Blazingcomet. In a way, it helped a lot." She smirked a little, the first sign showing that something might be changing a bit in the pale-colored warrior. "And I'm still taking you up on your offer earlier, you know."

Re: SkyClan Clearing

Flower. It seemed to be the type of code word that the feline would come up with, and Blazingcomet smiled at her suggestion. That wouldn't be too weird, either! After all... 'flower' seemed like a word that other would hear Gingerblossom saying on a daily basis, and Blazingcomet hoped that it wouldn't get too mixed up with other words. "Flower sounds good! You might have to give me a look though, heh... just so I get you aren't actually talking about flowers." He explained. Whoa. The way he was describing this sounded like he was actually planning on spending lots more time with this pretty, pale colored, mint-eyed young warrior!
Looks like some changes were being made to his original plan. Ah well. The way of the world, wasn't it? Swallowing ever so slightly, Blazingcomet tried to look encouraging as he heard her story. That was... depressing. Something he hadn't been expecting to come from the feline. "I..." There was nothing he could say. Nothing that would be appropriate for the moment, anyways. The only thing he could think of was 'not every cat has good in them, you know.' And that certainly wouldn't be the right thing to say, not for this moment... and probably not to Gingerblossom in general.
Besides, she had the right to believe that every cat had some good in them if she wanted to. And if she was going to get her hopes smashed to the ground then, so be it. Wow. How rough was he being on her at the moment? Much more then he meant to, certainly, but wasn't that just the way or the world with this arrogant, and yet... certainly charming young tom? Definitely. He thought of everything in grey. Well you could be good and bad. Right and wrong. Friendly and rude. Sarcastic and sincere. Everything was just a mysterious grey area in the tom's point of view, and Gingerblossom had muddled up the muddy water surrounding her even more with her sudden outburst.
However, she'd fixed it. Nothing that a good, old fashioned conversation couldn't fix anyways. My.... offer? Oh Blazingcomet. So forgetful. Especially right now, huh? What a cat he certainly was. "Huh?" He asked. Looks like this tom needed some help with his attachment issues. And no, not clinging onto a cat... he needed help for what happened if no one else stepped up once he let one cat go. Blazingcomet always had to be with someone. Always. He was grumpy when he was alone, and grumpier when he thought that he wasn't going to get company anytime soon. He got what he wanted right away, or... well... he turned into a spoiled little kit.
