Another day. Another day in this damned hell called the living. Any type of support he thought he had were all gone. Flintfang. Silversnow. Dappledleaf. Robinfeather. Hell, even Rumblewolf was gone. The only good things in this world were his two children and that was it. Raccoonpelt felt as if this was a punishment for whatever the hell he did. Was it because he thought it was wise to fall in love with a Riverclan cat? That was most likely it.

Today Raccoonpelt had decided to go see his daughters grave along with Silversnows. The raccoon-like tom was holding some type or flowers in his mouth as he made his way to the sleepy thicket. Raccoonpelt had been so lost in his world that he didn't hear the voices within the place where the dead rested.

Dull yellow eyes [ Once someone said they captured the moons light though it was hardly true anymore] looked up to look for both Martenkits and Silversnows grave only to see Minno- Nono his name was Mumblepaw digging up his daughters grave and curled up around the grave. Raccoonpelt didn't give notice to the she-cat as he felt anger start to bubble up in him.

"Get. Away. From. There."

No Nightmist? Hmmm, that was fine. Less cats meant less he had to worry about! Not like he worried much about others, but ya know, the whole leading a patrol and being responsible thing meant he kind of had to.

A skip in his step, Wispwatcher made his way towards the Sleepy Thicket. Early morning as it was, this place still had some spook factor to it! He glanced over his shoulder at where he assumed Daypaw to be, meowing, "You know, I've heard this place is haunted by a ghost. Pretty cool, huh? I wonder if we'll see 'em."

DayPaw anxiously followed behind the warrior, fidgeting slightly as she gazed around with her blue eyes. The apprentice hadn’t been to the sleepy thicket before, the eerily placed haze made her gulp slightly. Was this really a safe part of the territory? She certainly felt like a pair of eyes were watching her from a distance-

Somewhat startled out of her thoughts by WispWatcher, she managed a stutter back to his input, smiling slightly as she tried to chuckle off the fear that was starting to crawl up her spine from the eerie place. ”O-oh… a g-ghost you say? That’s p-pretty Uhm….okay- Haha…ha… b-but that’s just a story, right?”. She added the last part anxiously as she looked behind her fluffy tail, as if expecting to see some otherworldly figure floating there. The apprentice tried her best to keep in pace with the warrior as she continued their patrol.

Specklemist sniffed the air, scenting vole. Hunter crouch, careful padding, pounce, kill; she held the creature in her mouth and padded back to camp.

CLOUDJUMPER (he/him)

⋙ A heavy sigh would leave the muscular white-and-black warrior as he trudged forward, leading his patrol through the vast hunting grounds and into the thicket’s portion of RiverClan land. He said not a single word on the trip there and focused on the path ahead of him with every step that he took. The air felt hot and incredibly humid, golden sunlight breaking through the branches over his head. Soon, a noise would catch his attention and Cloudjumper would lift his tail, silently signaling the two other cats to stop momentarily. Ears swiveled towards the sound as he'd lower his body and slink through the undergrowth. The curly-furred tomcat poked his head around a tree, soon laying his eyes on the culprit: a goose! From his position, he could spy the large white-feathered bird was pecking along the ground, uttering a low honking noise as it nosed it's bill around through the dirt. What was it doing out here?

Turning his gaze back towards Briarfang and Minnowpaw, he gestured with one paw for them to come closer to see what they were dealing with. "Should we try and take it down? Or leave it be?" Cloudjumper asked them quietly, giving the rest of the patrol an option on where they went from here. While it would probably be a pain in the ass to avoid such a large animal, it wouldn't be exactly a walk in the park to kill something like that either—although, the goose would be quite the prize to bring back to the rest of RiverClan. Both options came with it's own pros and cons, so he left it up to his two patrolmates.

Minnowpaw followed Cloudjumper and Briarfang onto the territory.
How had she never been here?
Why hadn’t she been out here?
She continued to walk behind her patrol until Cloudjumper stopped them.
A goose?
Interesting.
“Maybe we should let it be…”
Minnowpaw didn’t want to mention her lack of training.

Briarfang followed Cloudjumper and Minnowpaw looking around alert for any sudden movements before stopping abruptly behind them and tilting his head in confusion then spotted the large goose a look of surprise came across his face then he turned back to the rest of the patrol "I think we should kill it more prey for the clan then anyway" he mewed.

CLOUDJUMPER (he/him)

⋙ Listening to his two patrolmates, the massive RiverClan tomcat wasn’t surprised that both had very differing opinions. Although, Minnowpaw was a very new apprentice, so it was probably a lack of experience that kept her from wanting to take down the bird. Cloudjumper wasn't about to head back to camp empty-pawed though, especially when there was fresh meal awaiting them right here. He hated going out these days, so if they were gonna be out here like this, then they were gonna do something actually useful. "We are going to take it down. It's food for RiverClan." He would soon remark firmly, whiskers twitching as he spoke, "If we don't, I'm sure it'll cause more problems later down the line, and I am not going to be blamed for that." The big warrior had seen what this clan does to cats that don't bend over backwards for them, and he had to stick around here for his kids―that's what Fawnlight would've wanted. Right? Cloudjumper gave a sigh and focused back onto the task at paw. They didn't have all day to complete this damn patrol, after all.

"Minnowpaw, you stay here. Briarfang and I will handle this." He instructed the young molly, hoping the RiverClan apprentice wouldn't attempt to get directly involved. The last thing any of them needed was a child getting hurt and rushed to Stonepaw when it could all be very easily avoided. "Briarfang, you go and distract the goose and I'll take it down from behind. Sound good?" He meowed to the other warrior, tail swishing back and forth, "If you'd rather make the kill though, I'm fine with it, but we do need to act fast." It made Cloudjumper feel uneasy to just be standing around and doing nothing.

Minnowpaw nodded, sitting down with her tail wrapped around her.
She had zero intention of going after the goose.
It was big.
And honestly kind of intimidating.
Her blue gaze settled on the goose again as it walked around the small clearing.
Why does it sound like that?
She wondered as it made a weird noise.

Briarfang nodded and started stalking closer to the goose when he paused and yowled loudly "Hey! You bird-brain come and get me" his eyes shined with ferocity as the goose immediately put it's head up eying the warrior for a moment before hissing and flapping it's wings violently.

Re: Sleepy Thicket

CLOUDJUMPER (he/him)

⋙ With Minnowpaw staying behind without an issue, the massive black-and-white warrior focused on the hunting completely, his eyes locking onto the large white-feathered goose. Briarfang gave him a nod and went ahead of him, doing his part as a diversion while Cloudjumper would be the one to make the final kill. Standing still and patient with the light-grey molly for a moment, he watched carefully as the other RiverClan tomcat then would approach it and began to yowl at the large bird, which in turn made it hiss ferociously and flap it's wings at him. Good. Now it's entire focus was on just Briarfang and Cloudjumper could advance their simple, yet effective plan of action. Without hesitation, the curly-furred warrior crouched and began to make the heedful crawl to move around them, to where he'd be facing the goose's backside. His claws slid out of his forepaws and he then slowly prepared to make a move.

Bunching together the muscles in his back legs, Cloudjumper would then spring forward through the air, opening his jaws as he collided with the sizeable feathered monster. The goose, being unaware of the second threat, honked loudly with surprise and fury as the massive cat landed on top of it. He would quickly clasp his paws around the bird's neck, sinking his sharp claws into it's flesh. It honked with alarm and began to thrash wildly underneath the curly RiverClan tomcat's weight, fighting to throw Cloudjumper off in the most ungraceful way possible. However, all of it's honking and hissing would become nothing other than gargled nonsense as he sank his teeth deep into the back of it's neck. It staggered a few steps and then fell to the ground with a softened thump as it fell very limp and very dead. Cloudjumper would release his grip and then lifted his head, licking the red blood from his white-furred muzzle.

"Good work, Briarfang." He'd say to the other warrior, nodding to him with clear gratitude, "Help me carry this monstrosity back to camp, will you? I'm sure Gingerfrost will be pleased." Cloudjumper then hopped off the fresh kill and began to nose his head under the goose. But then he remembered. "Oh, right. We still need to mark this area with our scent." They'd been sent out here as a border patrol, not a hunting patrol, after all. Sighing, the curly-furred RiverClan warrior abandoned the goose for a moment. "Let's split up and scent mark the trees 'round here so we can finally all go home. Minnowpaw, I will need you to stay close to Briarfang and watch him to see how scent-marking is done. Don't wander off, please." She was a newly-named apprentice and probably was still getting used to being out here like this. Had her mentor taught her how to scent things yet? He didn't know, but left that to the dark brown warrior to make sure she did not get into any trouble. Not wasting anymore time, Cloudjumper stalked off to immediately start rubbing up against the trees and spreading RiverClan's scent everywhere. It had felt like ages since he'd been on a border patrol, but thankfully, it wasn't too difficult to finish.
