Re: Cattail Pond
I know, isn't it? she whispered excitedly. This was AWESOME! But the stupid fish wouldn't come up! So they would have to go down and get it! Right? But how are we going to get it? It's not coming up to eat things like the other fishes. It eats DIRT! she mewed softly. We're going to have to go in or something! While she liked swimming, she wasn't necessarily a fan of going down deep. Besides, she could only keep her eyes open underwater for a short amount of time, and even then everything was fuzzy. @Neon Lights

Re: Cattail Pond
Yeah, but that might scare it! Splashleap mewed. We could try it though. We just have to make sure we know where it goes if it leaves. And if that doesn't work, we're probably going to have to swim after it. No need to admit she was a bit excited by the idea. The water would feel nice, and the fish would be even MORE delicious if they had to do something hard to get it, right? At least that was her rational. @Neon Lights

Re: Cattail Pond
Ok, sounds good to me! Splashleap mewed, bounding towards the far end of the pond. She kept her eyes on the dirt-fish the whole time, until she reached her spot. Sitting down, she waited for Cheetahfang to start dropping dirt on the fish. If it ran towards her, she was diving in! And probably getting soaked with no fish. But she tried REALLY HARD not to think about that. @Neon Lights

Re: Cattail Pond
The fish WAS coming toward her! Tensing her muscles, Splashleap dived into the pond. Claws extended, she clawed around for the fish. Feeling it's slippery skin, she dug in, and risked opening her eyes. The fish was even bigger up close! But now she was beginning to run out of air, so she kicked hard off the muddy bottom, and began trying to paddle to the surface. @Neon Lights

Re: Cattail Pond
With a gasp as she broke the surface, Splashleap relaxed her claws. The fish wriggled itself, and........slipped away. However, it swam slowly, as her claws had torn it's fins, and it had several claw marks on its sides as well. With a second huge breath, she dived after it again, hoping to intercept it before it reached the bottom. Digging her claws in once again, she managed to reach the surface. With a shorter dive, she managed NOT to gasp and not release the prey. Trying to hold on tightly still, she tried to paddle towards Cheetahfang, hoping he could help her haul the fish to shore so they could kill it. @Neon Lights
