"Hey, hey, no worries, you aren't going to die." He jogged towards them, coming to a stop a few mouse-lengths from the kit. "I'm Stonepaw and this is Raccoonpelt and Mumblepaw. We're going to help you, okay? What's your name?" He started with something that would hopefully be reassuring before leaning forward to try to pick him up. "I'm going to take you back to our camp so we can help, is that alright?"

⋙ After a few quiet moments of waiting, the large RiverClan tomcat would see his two clanmates finally return to him after successfully scent-marking the area. He hauled himself to his paws and gave the two a causal nod before turning back to the goose on the ground. "Alright, let's get this bird home and call it a day. Good work." Cloudjumper meowed and then nosed his head under the feathery monster, awkwardly getting half of it draped over his back. "Help me carry this, will you, Briarfang? Minnowpaw, you lead us home. Right back the way we came." Hopefully, getting this big prize back to camp wouldn't be too hard, or all that time training up his strength would be for nothing. Ugh. The black-and-white warrior heaved part of the prey up with a grunt and awaited the other tom to join him before they'd all follow the young apprentice back to sanctuary... if he could even call it that anymore.

Scenting of the air had Snowbeak at ease as he could only detect RiverClan scent. At least there would be no interruptions by outsider forces on this patrol - not that he expected that. RiverClan was far good at guarding their borders he knew, and he placed faith in his yellow Clanmates to do away with pesky trespassers.

He looked back at Ivorynight and Lionpaw, gesturing with his paw for Ivorynight to head off to one side of the area. Since Lionpaw was an apprentice though, Snowbeak wanted to keep a closer eye on him. He gestured with his tail for the tom to flank him as he started down the other side, casting glances out towards what lay beyond RiverClan territory and this border. He made sure to rub his fur and brush his muzzle along clumps of foliage, looking at Lionpaw with a kind smile and eager nod as if to say to copy what he did.

Lionpaw trotted excitedly behind his patrol mates. Then stopped to observe what Snowbeak was doing with a look of annoyed confusion. Why was he rubbing his face over everything? They should be searching for rogues and trespassers! That's what border patrols were for, after all.

Lionpaw ignored Snowbeak's persuasion to mark the borders and set his eyes on the territory across from RiverClan. Sleepy Thicket was closest to ThunderClan, right? With that in mind, he kept his gaze locked for any signs of Thunderclanners, ready to leap into action at any moment. He'd show those stupid squirrel-chasers what would happen if they messed with RiverClan's greatest fighter!

IvoryNight moved to where SnowBeak had gestured him towards. He started rubbing his face along rocks and ferns, renewing the Riverclan scent. Luckily that was the only scent around.

A frown etched onto his face as Snowbeak took notice of Lionpaw disregarding his request and instead staring across the border with a rather unnerving look. He was disappointed, but finished marking the border anyways. There wasn't anything out of the ordinary, so the pale gray tom didn't take too long in renewing the scent markers before doubling back. He glanced at Lionpaw, offering a soft smile. Using his paws, he made gestures to the tom to ask how his training was going while he waited for Ivorynight by pointing towards his claws and then to his nose and ears. Hopefully his mentor was starting out soft, with hunting basics, versus fighting techniques.

Lionpaw turned away from the border to look at Snowbeak. What was he doing? Why didn't he just speak? Weirdo...

Anyways, it didn't seem like any Thunderclanners were gonna show up today. They were probably too scared to face the ferocious and amazing Lionpaw. That's right, the border was safe once more thanks to him and nobody else! Though, he couldn't help feeling bored by the lack of trouble.

"This is BORING! I didn't find a single bad guy to fight!" he whined to his patrol mates.

(This is Lionpaw's first time meeting a mute cat and he doesn't know silent communication!)

Lionpaw didn't respond to his question, but Snowbeak wasn't bothered by it. He had become accustomed to it and shoot it off now as one might do a rain drop off a whisker. He looked up as Ivorynight returned, appearing calm and quiet. That meant that to him, this patrol was a success; they had remarked the borders and there hadn't been any trouble.

However, that seemed to be precisely the reason that Lionpaw was now upset. Amusement had him smiling as he rose to his paws, knowing full well that he too had felt the same as an apprentice. Those days seemed far behind the tom now. Ivorynight was able to reply to the apprentice, which was an answer he agreed with. Not all patrols were claws and fangs - in fact, most were just tedious and repetitive.

With a swish of his tail to signal the patrol, Snowbeak turned to head back towards camp. He made sure to keep his ears perked and eyes alert, though with no other intruding scents he was certain that this patrol was a success.
