Russet stripe paced at the edge of camp, her tail lashing. The battle was coming soon, she knew. But then, why wasn't she going to fight in it? Because I don't want to see my Clanmates die, she answered herself bitterly. It was a stupid reason, yes, but to her it made sense. After all, who wanted to watch death?

The she-cat sighed and sat down, pausing her anxious movements for the moment. "I should have signed up," she muttered.

Bluekit walked out of the nursery. She was worried about her clanmates. She was afraid to watch her clanmates get injured. Sure she didn't have a mother, but she still cared about her clanmates.

The blue kit looked over at Russetstripe and walked over to her. "H-hi. " she hessitaded, a bit skittish as she was.

The warrior glanced up in surprise. Huh. This was a bit shocking. Usually, no one bothered to talk to her. Why does she want to talk to me? she wondered. I'm not even remotely interesting.

"Hello, Bluekit," she answered. "How are you?" Oh, I hope I'm not being too forward. Wouldn't it be quite awkward that I knew her name and she didn't know mine? Am I worrying too much? Oh dear, stop worrying, Russetstripe!

"H-how do yo-you know my n-ame. " she shuddered, staring at her with huge eyes. She wanted to run, but her paws wouldn't let her, so she remained where she was.

Oh dear, Russetstripe thought nervously. She shifted on her paws a bit. "I've seen you around camp," she said. "Plus heard your name. So, I guess that's how." She attempted a small smile.

Starclan, why is conversation so hard! This shouldn't be difficult! This should be easy! The she-cat heaved a silent sigh. Here she eas, sitting on her tail in camp while her Clanmates fought the DS, and she couldnt even converse with a kit!

Bluekit looked at her with a smile. "I'm sorry if I had troubled you. No one ever talks to me. Not even the other kits. Ever since my mother died I haven't been able to talk to anyone. " she admitted.

The blue kit could hardly think of why she was telling a stranger about her problems. She didn't like the feeling of talking about her life to anyone.

The she-cat tilted her head curiously. This kit sounded like her. "My name is Russetstripe," she mewed. "And I should be apologizing. I started talking to you without introducing myself."

"It's alright. I do that sometimes. " she replied. Bluekit looked at her face with a smile. She felt as if she could trust this cat. "That question you asked earlier about me feeling. I'm doing alright with everything. "

"That's good," she answered. Oh Starclan, why am I always so awkward? "So, do you want to go do something? I don't have anything else to do other than pace." Russetstripe gave a small laugh.

Bluekit looked at her with a giggle. "I don't know what to do. All I ever do is sit alone in the nurserythinking about how mmiserable my life is. I don't have any kin left. " she replied half frowning.
