Mintkit was startled by the kit suddenly standing up, and took a step back. He wanted to know her name, but all she did was staring at her paws and waiting for him to do something else. But the little cat kept watching her intently, so she gave up and replied in a soft, low voice: "Mintkit.."
Making friends was so difficult, Mintkit had given up on that task moons before. Why would she need friends? She could perfectly live on by observing her surroundings and learn by watching his clanmates. But, deep inside, she secretly hoped that this kit wouldn't mind watching the sky with her close by.
In the meanwhile, lots of cats had passed through the nursery entrance and Mintkit felt unease at blocking it.

The tabby she-cat nodded faring the younger cats farewell as her eyes began to droop the exhaustion finally setting in.

The kit squirmed as they mewled lightly their small body making it way closer to their mothers stomach as the began to suckle.

This kit looked a bit weird, but Mintkit liked him. This was the first time another kit offered to do something with her, and she was glad that it was a lovely activity, too. She smiled shyly and nodded, gazing again at the brilliant blue sky. Her tail moved slowly on the ground while she tried to identify the shape of a strange, cotton-like cloud just above the horizon. With a soft voice, she replied: "It looks like a minnow... I like minnows."
She looked forward to see how the sunset would be tonight. The red ones were very special to her.

Memory problems? Mintkit had never heard of any cat with memory problems. She wondered how further his problem would go in the future, and if he'll be able at all to fulfill the warrior duties...
But he looked like he could handle it. Mintkit followed his gaze to a cloud that lay down on the horizon like some piece of prey. "I've never tasted squirrel..." she murmured. Her mothers didn't bring her prey much often, and when she looked on the fresh-kill pile she could find mostly fish. Suddenly she realized how hungry she was. Turning her gaze away from the sky she peeked at the prey pile in the clearing, trying to make out what was exactly laid there.
