Moon suddenly raced in. "Cody! stop! Please, I didn't escape my parents again for this!" She raced after her friend.

Cody stopped in his tracks right beside the base of the tree. Was that... "M-moon?" Did all his siblings return? After all these moons? And... and only after Thyme passed did they return... he shook his head, eyes closed tight.

Moon walked up to him. "C-cody? are you ok? Come on, lets go back to the den and we can play with Thyme and it will be all better."

Moon flinched, she touched Cody with a paw. Her tail was a short stub, and she turned, trying to hide it from Cody, as she nodded.

Cody padded back to the clearing Thyme's den was in. He slowly made his way toward the grave he had dug. He gestured to the large, smooth stone surrounded by colorful flowers that Pebble and Talon slept next to. "Thyme... is.... g-g-g-gon-gone..." he whispered, starting to break down into tears again.

Moon collapsed. "You are lying. That is not true. No. I tried to protect but I failed. This is all my fault." she sobbed, burying her head in her paws, no longer concerned with hiding the bloody stump of a tail she had from Cody.

Pebble and Talon woke up to see Cody on the tree, ready to jump. "NO!!! CODY, STOP!!!!" She roared, tears running down her face. "Cody, think! Would Thyme want you to do this?" She tried.

Cody sniffled when Moon spoke. "I wish i was..." And then he turned around to run back to the tree. He looked up at the branches, and set his paws up it as if wanting to climb. Then he heard Pebble's voice. He shook his head, and started to heave himself up the trunk.

Moon raced after him, climbing up the trunk and clambering into the branches. "Stop! Cody, please!" Tears streamed down her face.
