Running didn't quite work. She watched a frog swim by. It seemed to scoop the water with it's little froggy hands. She tried running underwater again. Only this time scooping a little more. That got better results. "Look, I'm swimming!" she crowed triumphantly. Swimming in water so shallow she could probably stand in it. But still swimming! @Bramblefire01

Without warning, Rushingwind pushed bazilpaw deeper into the water. Then he jumped in after her, to make sure she didn't drown. "Keep swimming!" he called to her.

Basilpaw gave a mew of surprise when she suddenly moved into deeper water. She began paddling using longer steps and larger scoops. She lifted her head up out of the water, her tail floating in the water, her not knowing what to use it for in the water. @Bramblefire01

"Then let's do it!" Sparrowskip laughed with her before returning his gaze to the pond. "So what you want to do is go down so you the water is a bit below your stomach. Then look at the end of the pond for silver glint. Then once it get's to a certain point, jump out into the middle of the pond, once he get there the unsuspecting fish is already there! Bite it or dig your claws into and throw it onto shore. If it's still alive when you run back up, bite its neck." Sparrowskip said this while demonstrating in the pond. A fish had actually come up so he used it to teach her. Once he came back up he shook the water off his fur and continued. "That may seem a bit complicated, but once you get it down it becomes super easy! On a good day you can catch a lot of fish!" @kittygirl

Basilpaw nodded as she paddled, moving her tail up to the surface. "I'm doing so good!" she said, proudly, paddling around in a small circle. Then she thought of something. "Wait," she said, "If I'm on the top of the water, and the fish are under water, how do I get the fish?"

"You get the fish from land". Laughed Rushingwind as he swam after her, around the circular pond.

WHAT? YOU WERE FAKING? Splashleap squealed, actually reaching annoyance. With a snort, she gave Stripepaw a shove, back out into the deeper water. You stinker, get out there and SWIM, or I'll make you run instead! Or climb trees! You're a Riverclan cat! With another snort of annoyance, and a lunge forward, she gave Stripepaw another shove, out into water where she wouldn't be able to stand. And I'm NOT saving you again! @Ikoria the Wolf Pup

Stripepaw giggled a little until Splashleap three her into the deep end. It caught her off guard, and she kicked her paws like her life depended on it, splashing everywhere while her eyes panicked.

Of course. Now the little stinker was panicking. Letting her apprentice flail around briefly, Splashleap quickly paddled out, cutting through the water like a knife through butter. Smoothly reaching Stripepaw, she seized her scruff and towed her in a little ways, only as far as where her paw tips touched the muddy bottom. Stripepaw wouldn't be able to stand, but it wouldn't be deep enough to drown her. Hopefully. At this point, she figured anything was possible. Releasing the younger molly, she huffed, a bit out of breath, Practice paddling. If you have to, float. Once you get the hang of it, go out a bit deeper. Hopefully that would suffice for instructions for now. @Ikoria the Wolf Pup

Basilpaw continued to paddle in a circle, finally realizing that she wasn't going anywhere. Just in a little circle. She hadn't been trying to do that. How does one get out of a circle? "Um," she said, uncerteinly, "I'm kinda stuck in a circle." Basilpaw wasn't comfortable leaning to the side. Maybe swimming when she was leaning and trying to turn was harder. Basilpaw decided not to try it.

"Let me help you". Said Rushingwind swimming to her side, and pushing her into a forward, straight line, position. "Keep going to the other side!" He mewed to her and slowly back off her side.
