Slatestripe kept his fierce gaze on Hollowstorm as he silently licked his son and then started to leave. The warrior said nothing more to him. He didn’t have anything more to say. Any shred of respect he may have had for the other tom had been reduced to dust. No cat was going to get away with implying he was a bad warrior. Especially not Hollowstorm.

He looked over as Blossomflight told him to never speak to her or their kits again. This surprised him; he’d figured that they’d work it out, as they always seemed to. Even though Slatestripe wasn’t a fan of Hollowstorm in the slightest, he understood that Blossomflight had loved him. Why, he wasn’t sure. But, she had. Still, he supposed the cat’s lack of presence and general dumbassery was enough to thaw even the warmest love.

Meanwhile, Bearkit had watched the whole ordeal with wide, unblinking eyes. The little kit trembled as Hollowstorm gave him a lick. To the young kit, this cat seemed bad. Blossomflight had struck him, and so that must mean he was bad. A queen told Bearkit once that cats only unsheathed their claws when they were fighting an enemy.

Was he actually Bearkit’s dad? Bearkit didn’t want him to be. He could tell that Hollowstorm made his mom upset, and he didn’t like that. He made Slatestripe upset, too, and he didn’t like that, either. He hoped Hollowstorm didn’t come back. The tiny kit pressed closer to his mom’s legs.

Hollowstorm, at the entrance to the nursery, looked back. Every cat had his eyes on him. Blossomflight's eyes were narrow and full of hate. Bearkit's eyes were wide and unblinking. And Slatestripe's gaze was unreadable, all he could see was fierceness. "I'm sorry, Blossomflight. I- i'm not here often because I'm trying to be a loyal warrior to RiverClan, but I'm the one wrong here. Slatestripe is the more loyal one here. Just- I hope I can gain your trust again. Maybe we could love again. Together. The love I feel for you will burn in my chest forever. And Bearkit, I'm sorry you had to see this. I am truly your father, but I accept if you don't feel it." he confessed before walking out of the den.

Slatestripe picked his rabbit pelt up and brought it over to Blossomflight. He carefully set it down, figuring she’d want to fix it in her nest how she wanted. “I brought this, since the nights are getting cold now. The nursery is pretty well insulated, but you’ll appreciate the extra warmth for your kits when temperatures drop below freezing. Of course, I can always give it to a different queen if you don’t want it. No worries either way.” He didn’t want to upset her any further after what just happened with Hollowstorm.

Blossomflight took a calming breath, and looked up at Slatestripe with a smile. "Thank you..." She purred, gently taking the pelt. She set it where the kits usually huddled during the night. The molly sighed, and flicked an ear. "D'you think i did the right thing...? With Hollowstorm i mean..." Blossomflight turned her green gaze to the ground. Swiftkit smiled, jumping over to his new-yet-old-littermate, booping noses with Bearkit. After that she looked back at her mother. Just how many siblings did they have? Jumping up and down on their paws they decided they'd seek out all of their littermates. But for now, they could play with Bearkit! "Do you wanna play Bearkit??" Spoting the moss ball that had been forgotten he grabbed it and looked at his mother. Did she wanna play to??

Slatestripe thought about that for a few minutes. He wanted to give Blossomflight a proper answer, without his bias against Hollowstorm getting in the way. When he felt like he had a good answer, he spoke.

“I think you were right to call him out on his treatment of others and his lack of presence as a father and mate. I think hitting him was overkill, even if I think your anger at him was justified. It isn’t good for kits to be exposed to that kind of inter-Clan violence at their age. Who knows how they’ll interpret it.”

He paused. “As for whether you’re right to break things off with Hollowstorm for good, only you can know that. I think Hollowstorm has lost his way. If he finds it again, then I don’t think there’s anything wrong with giving him a second chance. But if he doesn’t, then you’re better off without him.”

Bearkit hesitated. He’d never played moss ball with another kit before. Remembering his mom’s words, he smiled and agreed. “Let’s do it!” He raced to the other side of the nursery and crouched, prepped to leap up and catch the moss. Maybe this will be fun!

Frog'fern looked around her surroundings as she entered
the Nursery, it had been awhile and she regretted not
visiting their daughter. "Ivory'Kit?" they'd called
gently as they looked around but stayed at the entrance.
It had been awhile since they'd been here due to the fact
she felt like they had wronged their clan by loosing their
apprentice then having a kit. But that didn't mean they
hated their kit, they instead loved her. Her only daughter
and had she been alone? Fro'Fern took another step in.

Ivorykit looked up at the sound of her mother’s voice. “Mama?” She said happily. She climbed out of her nest and tumbled, falling at Frogfern’s feet. She grinned up at her.

They looked down at Ivory'Kit and they felt their heart
sink, she looked so much like her father. They leaned down
and licked her head "Are you doing well, dear?" Even
Frog'Fern was suprised at their motherly tone, how had
they skipped out on her?
