the outsiders {private}
@woly
Tommy stood in a local convinence store at the cash register, purchasing a coke with his daily allowance money. He waited in line, his free hand in the pocket of his letterman jacket. He glanced around, tapping a foot impatiently as he waited. (ew it's short sorry) |

[ima research the book a bit so sorry if my posts seem off ! wanna be as accurate as possible ;w; ] Eli walked into the small convenience store, cigar in his mouth. he of course was getting another pack of the addicting sticks like usual. brown eyes scanned the store, raising a brow at the sight of tommy. while usually he wouldnt give two craps about the dude, he was apart of the socs after all. burring his hands in his leather jacket pockets he stepped up behind him in line,blowing out a puff of smoke through his nose,¨tommy? im surprised a soc is in this part of town, my gang basically owns this part of town.¨ he snorted. |

Elijah scoffed, stepping forward to the counter and mumbling his order to the cashier. he rested an elbow on the counter, raising an eyebrow at tommy,¨it should be an honor being in this side of town, im sure its better then where youre from.¨ he stated cockily. feeling a tap on his shoulder he dug in his pockets for a few spare dollars and put the crumpled bills on the counter, gladly taking his cigars and putting them in his back pockets. |

His smirk soon turned into an unamused glare, huffing his comment off,¨my quote junky truck, is expensive and can go places,thank you very much.¨ he retorted, taking the cigar out of his mouth and huffing out a few clouds of smoke,before placing it back into his mouth, brown hues glaring into the other. ¨we have the jackets,bikes, and basic tough guy exterior. all you guys sport is fancy little school varsity jackets, nothing really impressive there.¨ he replied cooly. to him, his side of town was obviously better. there were a lot of places to go an see,some better then others, but good nonetheless. ¨with that jacket on youre gonna get yourself beat up around here, goodluck.¨ he chuckled, not bothering to here a retort from him and made his way outside to smoke, the small ringing of the bell on the door making a sound as he sat himself against his favorite brick wall, huffing out another cloud of smoke. |

he raised an eyebrow at the question. ¨asking a greaser not to jump a soc is like asking me not to breath,¨ he gave a chuckle. he was surprised he hadnt beat tommys ass as soon as he saw him in this side of town,but he didnt. he couldnt be bothered to waste his time on petty fights, he already knew his place. ¨if you want to get to 11th street safely youre gonna have to be escorted,¨ he looked him up and down, brown eyes narrowing,¨and theres no way in hell im doing that, so keep looking.¨ like, the dude had just insulted his trucks and shirt(which was new!) on his own territory! no way in hell he was making sure this soc was getting any where safely, and frankly, he didnt care. |

shaking his head he clicked his tongue,¨sorry, no back ways, we normally dont get unwelcomed visitors here.¨ he replied coolly, taking the cigar out of his mouth and blowing out the last bit of smoke before dropping it to the ground and stomping on it. though he was curious on where he needed to go. if it was somewhere actually important then maybe Eli would consider walking him there.maybe.most likely not,but maybe. ¨where are you heading to anyway?¨ |

¨the backways are for Greasers access only,no way im telling you that.¨ he snorted. they had small camps everywhere, in small alleys and passage ways, and so on. its how they made a living, kept everyone on guard incase Socs like tommy came into their neighborhood. [writers block,sorry lkblj] |

Tommy sighed and ran a hand through his dark hair. "Well thanks for the help you never gave. Guess I'll just run to 11th," he said with a shrug, not trying to sound like he wanted pity but more like honestly didn't care. "Like I said, I can handle a few Greasers." He shrugged again and turned, heading out of the small alley he'd been in. |

Elijah opened his mouth to say something bu the kid was off. he furrowed his brow. again,his mind wandering to the same question. why didnt he jump him when he had the chance? maybe it was because eli was a decent person,unlike most of his gang members, he didnt attack without good reason. once he was out of his view he sighed, looking at the place he had once been before. knowing his gang, the dude would be approached within minutes in this side of town. sighing, he stood up straight, walking away from the gas station, hands burrowed in his pockets. he couldnt believe this-he was making sure a Soc was going to get home safe. |

The walk was boring. he was pleased to see tommy not wandering where he wasnt suppose to, respecting Greaser territory. it was nice. he liked walking around the city, the soft sounds of the cars passing by, the small chatter of the people talking. it was calming. what caught his attention at the sound of familiar voices of other greaser members, and the so said soc awaiting the his bright red varsity jacket. he basically had a target on his back with the word Soc on it. sigh. walking up he lit a cigar, placing it in his mouth with a furrowed brow. as much as he didnt like Socs, tommy just wanted to get home. and unlike most gang members, he had no desire to cause physical harm to others unless needed. he interrupted them standing inbetween tommy and the other greasers,¨hes with me. caught him on our terf and i was taking him somewhere to teach him a lesson.¨ he voice was cool yet had an edge to it, silently daring them to challenge him. he made up the lie on the spot, giving tommy a side glance to play along. |

Tommy arched a brow when Eli spoke, surprised but,as much as he didn't want to admit it, thankful. But then he wondered how the Greaser knew where to find him- had he been following him? But Tommy caught the side glance. The three Greasers had turned to Eli, and the blonde one glared but didn't argue. "Fine," he spat. "But if we see another one of 'em roaming near here, he's ours, got it? And you," he turned back to Tommy. "If you so much as set foot here again, you won't be so lucky- then again, I hear Eli here's got a pretty hard punch." The blonde Greaser said threateningly. He then turned, the other two following suit and headed the opposite direction. Tommy glanced at Eli. "Whyyy did you do that?" He asked quizzically. "And why were you following me?" |

¨you think id let a Soc wander around in my terf? no way in hell,¨ he made up the lie on the spot. there was no way he could tell a soc that he cared a bit about his safety. ¨not all greasers like to conform to violence, as surprising as it sounds.¨ he huffed. as much as the gangs hated eachother, sometimes things were simply dumb and immature. the guy just wanted to get to 11th street for his dad. ¨now come on, im walking you to 11th street.¨ he didnt want him getting jumped again. |

Eli chuckled while walking beside him. he had never thought in a million years hed be walking side by side with a Soc in peace. "not all of us are bad either. its immature,the violence and stuff." he sighed. he had been beaten up a few times by a soc, almost every greaser has and vise versa. it was apart of being in a gang. but it got tiring at some point. "beyond the gang borders were all people, anyway." |

Eli thought over his question in confusion, on why Tommy would want to know in the first place. but he nodded anyway,"yeah i know him, why do you ask?" |
