Simple Curiosity [OPEN FOR ANYONE]
 

Hubble, a ginger-and-white Maine Coon with amber eyes, gazed out the window longingly at the forest. His folks were out for the day, leaving him at home with nothing to do but wait for them to return. He missed them. With the new Twoleg kit arriving and all, they hadn't had much quality time together lately.

He remembered the days before the little yowling thing came into his house, and how a she-Twoleg cared for him when his family went away for at least a moon. He liked her a lot. He wished he could see her again, even though she wasn't technically a part of his kit-hood family. She always spoke softly and sweetly to him, bopping noses with him each time she came to visit. She loved it whenever he took a snooze on her lap, or when he kneaded her sides like he would his mother. She was never harsh with him, even when he made a mess of the Twoleg nest, or got that greyish, sticky dust under his claws. Many a mat she'd gotten out of his thick coat with white powder and that... shiny metal tooth-thing.

He never liked it when she had to go. The last time she left, she seemed very sad. He couldn't figure out why water kept running down her muzzle when she went away. Maybe the big blue monster that swallowed her each time had something to do with it.

But he was here now, sitting on the windowsill watching the squirrels chase one another through the snow. Maybe he'd go out for a walk. It was only a little ways into the forest from the backyard.

So off he went, through the kittypet door and into the snow-covered woods.

"Uh... hi," Hubble meowed in a raspy voice. "Wasn't expecting to see anybody today." He sat down in front of the stranger. "What's that 'cha got there?" He nodded at the carcass at the older cat's feet. Well, he guessed the cat was older. Hubble was still a youngster, and he was still naïve and... uneducated on Clan life.

Moon shivered, her pelt thick with snow. She was hungry, tired, but most of all, lonely. She lifted her nose to the air, trying to find even the slightest bit of prey scent. She hung her head low, her tail dropping back into the snow with a small crunch. No prey. No other cats, either. She pricked her ears. Maybe hearing would be better then smelling for prey. As she trotted through the snow, she started to hear voices. And smelled... prey? Water flooded her mouth. It had been ages since she had eaten ANYTHING. Maybe whoever was enjoying that meal wouldn't mind sharing. Tail lifted high, she began to follow the cheerful voices.

"Someone's coming," Hubble's orange ears perked up, and he lashed his tail.

Moon burst out in front of the two cats, shaking snow everywhere. "Hi, I'm Moon!" She glanced at the prey. "And d'you mind sharin' that?"

Hubble glanced at the she cat with wide amber eyes. "H-hi there," he stammered, startled. "I don't mind. Do you, Funk?"

Cassie watched from the shadows, carefully observing the three in silence. She didn't dare make herself known. Who knows what tricks they could pull?

Moon smiled. "Great!" She dove into the fresh-kill, her tail flicking back and forth, scattering snow everywhere. "Thanks!" She smiled at the two other cats, her cheeks bulging with the prey. "What're your names?"

Peanut walked through the forest, looking for prey in the snow. He then heard some voices nearby. Peanut decided to walk over and say hi. @Skye @Slatepaw @TeamRiverRipple

Moon smiled, swallowing the last bit of prey. "I'm Moon! Nice to meet you!" Moon bounced on her toes, excited at the prospect of making friends. "Wanna be friends? We can have adventures! we can explore, an' play, an' eat together, an' be buddies, an' solve mysteries!" Moon's smile grew bigger. "So, whattya say?"

"Of course!", purred Peanut. He loved making friends, and was glad he had a new one! He sniffed Moon with HUGE interest for a minute or two, then sniffed the others. @Skye @Slatepaw @TeamRiverRipple

Moon grinned at the Peanut, her face going pink. She couldn't believe it, a cat actually wanted to be friends with her! Maybe he wouldn't drive her away.. like the others did... Moon faltered for a minute, her smile abruptly fading.

Peanut noticed Moon start frowning. "What's wrong, Moon? Are you okie? Don't be sad! We're all friends here!", he mewed, a small VERY TINY glint of love in his eyes, but mainly worriness.
(ya know what i mean by"a VERY TINY glint of LOVE"...TwT. But don't go in too quick with dat)

Moon smiled sadly at Peanut, then glanced at Hubble. "Sorry to intrude... I just couldn't resist the smell of prey!" She smiled, feeling at home surrounded by her new friends.

Moon smiled sadly, her tail lifting slowly off the ground. "Well, I better go. The temporary den of a thornbush is calling me!" She drew herself carefully away from the other cats. "Maybe I'll see you guys around some other time..."

Cassie narrowed her green eyes as the greyish she-cat turned to leave.

"Wait, Moon! I dont really have anywhere to sleep. I mainly sleep in the snow, and I hate it! You dont mind if I come with you, do you?"

Moon stared at Peanut, her face going pink. "O-of course you can! It's quite lonely under that little den I made..." Moon glanced at her paws, her smile growing.

"THANKS!", Peanut meowed loudly, immediately feeling embarrassed and his face going red a bit. "Uhhhhh...I mean...thanks....Moon...", he restated, feeling eyes looking at him. Peanut then followed Moon.

Moon, her face still pink, wave her tail at the others. "Maybe I'll meet you guys here tomorrow?" She glanced at Peanut, her face gradually going back to normal. "You ready?" And with that, she padded out of the clearing.

"Yeah. I'm getting tired. Thanks for letting me come w-w-with you...." Peanut started to shiver. He headed into the 'den' quickly and laid down.

Moon curled up beside Peanut, fatigue dragging at her bones. "Thanks for being my friend..." she whisper, smiling at Peanut as he settled down. "Maybe I could go get some more bedding..?" she asked him, feeling hot despite the weather.
