Along came a spider... [Open to all!]
Spider padded near the barn she called home. She needed to find some prey soon or she would starve. She stalked along, looking for prey.

Taffeta was making her usual move from one nesting place to another. This was one of her older ones she hadn't visited in nearly a year. She padded through, steps carefully placed to avoid making sound, but with a spring to each one. Excitement buzzed through her veins.
As she neared the barn, she noticed very strong, very recent cat scent. Her pace slowed, ears and tail drooped in disappointment. What else was she expecting? It wouldn't just sit there like it was hers. Perhaps the cat was lonely and wanted company? She could always ask. Not quite as cheerful, she continued her trek, watching for any kind of traps (it was unlikely, but a near encounter with a two leg fox trap and particularly intelligent group of feral cats had been enough to make her wary). She caught a glimpse of the other cat and turned for a better look and her mouth dropped. You could see every rib and bump of her spine through the skin and when they moved, it was a wonder the skin didn't rip, not even much muscling to pad the friction her joints probably caused. Her pace increased, but wasn't a full sprint, and approached the severely malnourished cat, concern clearly written on her face. @Greenleap |

Spider stood straight up, turning her head to see what was coming toward her. As she saw the cat trotting toward her, her ears flattened and she got into a fighting position. She wasn't going to be attacked by any-cat! Her hackles raised as she hissed at this unknown cat. @Rainquail

[Hey, sorry. When I got the notif, I forgot to respond.]
"Hey, there. I'm not looking to hurt you." Taffeta mewed softly to the other cat. "I originally came here for shelter before it became night, but you look like you could use some help hunting. If you are not opposed, I could help you get back on your feet." The offer was sincere, but she wasn't quite sure the other cat would see it that way. No doubt she would try to shoo her away first chance she got. This was her home after all. And she was just a stranger who randomly approached at her most vulnerable. @Greenleap |

"Why would I trust you?" The she-cat hissed, not letting her hackles down or coming out of her defensive position. "And why would you help me at all?" @Rainquail

"You look like you have a paw in the grave." She mewed, referring to how starved the other cat looked. "I could help you hunt." She offered.

"Wouldn't dream of it." Taffeta was in no mood for a conflict, she just wanted to rest her sore paws as soon as she could. The walk had been farther than she originally thought. But she should catch something for this cat first. Maybe she'd share her barn.
"How far have you gone out for hunting? Repeated hunting in a spot will scare away any prey that could appear later." Or maybe she knew this and there just wasn't anything nearby. That would be quite troubling. @Greenleap |

"I know that!" The she hissed, "But the stupid clan cats won't even let me near their territory, so i'm stuck around the barn!" She wasn't in the mood to be nice, she was starving and she couldn't find a lick of prey! @Rainquail

"Hold on... I sent another cat..." She stalked toward the small cat. Expecting it to be much larger, she pounced, claws unsheathed, at the cat. Her tail lashed with excitement and anger. @Ivyfeather8783 @Rainquail

"So you've run into those weirdos, too. It seems most cats have.... do you know how often they come by? I might be able to grab you something before they notice." Hopefully they weren't by the fish folk or the murk waders. She hated getting mud in her pelt.

"There are two kinda of cats I like here, but don't at the same time... The moor-runner cats and those forest cats." She looked down at the small cat. "Oh, didn't think you would be that small, oh well, you'll be useful anyways." She stepped off the small cat. @Rainquail @Ivyfeather8783

He looked at her side and saw her ribs, almost as if they would come out of her skin any moment! “Ohhh..I see. I can help look for food too! Do you mind if I do? I love helping others. And making friends. But mainly helping others if it’s really bad.” Yoshi’s green eyes glanced around as he talked, his head facing toward the big hungry she-cat. @Greenleap

Her eyes narrow, she looked at the small cat. "Well I don't like helping cats unless they have something in common with me, like this other ct hates the forest cats like me. Anyways, I guess you can help if it means you stop talking." She growled. She knew she was being harsh, she liked being harsh, especially to young cats who need to be put in place.

She noticed the ear twitch. "If you're gonna stay with us, you're gonna have to get used to it." She hissed. "How lets go fight some patrols while hunting until we're stuffed. Where should we try first? The moor-runners have a lot of territory, surely they would share." @Rainquail @Ivyfeather8783

Taffeta never agreed to fighting the weirdos! Only sneaking prey from them. Her thought process was interrupted when the other two got into hunting crouches. She did, too, albeit slower than they had, still trying to process the whole interaction that had taken place.

"It's not conquest, it's getting food! We don't have enough here, do you want to starve?" She asked, getting real close. She for one, was not the one to sit around and wait to starve.
