Minnie's barn
Minnie slowly woke up and stretched. "Mrrow...that's good. Another day at the barn. I guess I'll catch breakfast now." She waited by the mouse hole for some squeaking, flashed a paw out, and caught her breakfast.

Re: Minnie's barn
@gs29513 Minnie went outside to roll around in her favorite haystack.
|
Re: Minnie's barn
Dark had strayed a bit farther afield than usual, wandering the land near the forest. Bored, he had decided to check out the barn that he could sometimes see on clear days, right up on the hill. And now, as he neared it, he could scent an overwhelming scent of mice. His mouth watering at the scent, he slunk towards an unfortunate one, outside gobbling up seeds on the ground. Moments later, he was gobbling up the mouse, whiskers twitching in satisfaction. It was only then he scented the other cat. Oops. hehe. A bit cautiously, he called out Hello? Anyone here? @ChillCat
|
Re: Minnie's barn
Huh? Another cat? I guess it's been a while... Minnie popped her head out of the haystack and bounced over to the new cat. "Hiya! I'm Minnie. This is the farm!" @gs29513
|
Re: Minnie's barn
Whew! He wasn't going to get clawed! That was already a good thing! With a small sigh of relief, Dark mewed warmly Well, um, hi Minnie! Now what did he say? His name? Yeah, that would work. My name's Dark! It's nice to meet you! And the farm looks cool! It really did, didn't it? With all the nice, cozy haystacks and all the mice. @ChillCat

Re: Minnie's barn
(I think it would be absolutely hilarious if minnie has a mild southern or accent fyi but i'm from new jersey so idk if im doing it right) @gs29513
"So what brings you round these parts? Did you come to be a mouser? The twolegs were talking about getting a kit, but i don't know if they meant a twoleg one to keep them company, or a cat one to catch more mice." Minnie actually didn't know. She didn't understand their twoleg talk, but she picked up on a few words like 'baby' and 'food.' As long as they let her stay she didn't really care. "Did you come from that other barn that burned down? My twolegs were freaking out about the smoke." |
Re: Minnie's barn
(hehe, it'll be funny. I don't know them either, since I'm a CT person) @ChillCat
I was just.......exploring. Dark mewed a bit awkwardly, as the she-cat launched into a load of questions. Almost to many questions really. He had to take a moment to process and respond to each one. I......don't know why I came. I just saw the barn, and thought it looked........big. he mewed a bit awkwardly, hoping that wasn't a stupid answer. Though he was a grown cat, he retained some of his younger cat insecurity. And then she started talking about twolegs? What was up with them? He couldn't really help her on that bit, so he just nodded politely. And then she started talking about a burnt barn. He.....hadn't even seen that, making him feel even more stupid, so all he did was shake his head. Ugh, he was making such a mess of this! |
Re: Minnie's barn
Hollykit walks into the barn. "where am I? I though I was at my territory? She sniffles, "anyone?:
|
Re: Minnie's barn
"Arrgh, I can tell I've been talking too much. My mom always told me to give other people a chance to talk, so how's it going?" To tell you the truth, Minnie hadn't seen another cat for quite a while, so the only things she had for company were the cows and chickens who were as stupid as bricks, and the dog that the twolegs owned to chase the sheep. No wonder she was chatty.
She heard another voice, turning to see a tiny kit. Wow, two visitors in one day? What a surprise! "Hello darling, are you lost?" @Whiteheart @gs29513 |
Re: Minnie's barn
Hollykit whimpers and lays down, she hadnt eaten for awhile and was hungry. she creeps forward but stops, afraid of what this cat may do to her, if this is a clan.
|
Re: Minnie's barn
she looks up, "i am lost" she creeps a little closer
|
Re: Minnie's barn
she comes a little closer so that she is right next to the cat. She bats at her tail and then a butterfly, and she is soon scampering around the barn chasing the butterfly
|
Re: Minnie's barn
( @Whiteheart if you don't mention me I can't see when you reply) "Oh you poor dear, you must be hungry. Come inside have something to eat."

Re: Minnie's barn
"I'm Minnie, and this is Dark." Minnie shushed Hollykit and swiped a mouse from a hole. She dropped it at hollykits feet. "Hollykit, isn't that a name that those clan cats have? Do you live there?" Minnie doubted it, there was no way such a tiny kit could walk all the way here. @Whiteheart @gs29513

Re: Minnie's barn
So she was a clan cat. That was far, really far. At least two or three sunrises of walking, maybe four. Minnie would admit she didn't know that much about clan cats besides that there were four clans and they all kind of hated each other. She noticed Dark had been pretty silent. "Hey, is something wrong?" @gs29513 @Whiteheart

Re: Minnie's barn
(Sorry guys, I'm a little busy IRL with Cross Country now, so maybe.......don't yell at Dark please?) @ChillCat @Whiteheart
What was this little thing doing here? Why was a clan cat HERE? This was nuts! Taking a DEEP breath, Dark mewed I'm fine. then, turning his attention to Hollykit, he asked Does your clan know you're gone? Because if they do, they might come HERE! And they might think WE took you! You can't stay here! His eyes were wild, and he was beginning to panic. He didn't like clan cats. Ever since Hazelpaw.........he couldn't STAND them! They were evil, murderous villains! They LOVED to kill loners! |
Re: Minnie's barn
(Nah dude, it's cool, I love drama!) @Whiteheart @gs29513
"Wait a minute, This one is just a baby. She can't hurt us. Maybe we can't take her back to her clan because we're loners, but we can find someone who can. I don't know much about clan cats, but if they're all murderers and jerks like you say, their way of life wouldn't have survived. They can't be all bad." Minnie felt bad for the kit, but also figured she shouldn't judge people for where they come from, especially if they're a kit. "Anyway, how would they know to look for a barn?" |
Re: Minnie's barn
I know she's a baby! That's why they'll want her back! Dark almost yowled, panic beginning to invade his voice. Didn't she understand? The clan cats would KILL them if they thought they took Hollykit! And yes, yes they are that bad! She must not know. She was far enough away here, but when Hazelpaw had killed his love..........he had broken. It had taken so long for him to heal, and now.........she didn't understand how it was, how awful they were. They'll follow her scent! They're good at hunting, and tracking, and hunting CATS! he added, his fur spiking. They hadn't known they weren't supposed to cross, they had just been chasing the squirrel, in the forest, and they had......had........he couldn't think about it. Not now. Not at all. @ChillCat @Whiteheart
|
Re: Minnie's barn
Dark seemed really scared of the clans, so Minnie wasn't going to press much. Something must have happened to him to make him this scared. "Well, I'm not saying we have to meet any clan cats, but I do know the direction they live in. When I saw the other barn burning and found other cats talking about it, I found out the cats live in that area. Maybe we could follow where I saw the smoke, leave her at the border, and go home." @gs29513 @Whiteheart
|
Re: Minnie's barn
Alright, alright! Dark grunted, and before any protest could occur, he had scooped up the kit. Trotting off, he dumped Hollykit at the border with a stern grunt of DON'T follow me back. If you do, I'll claw you. And that was all he said before bounding back to the barn. By now it was almost nightfall, and he should probably head back to his den, but he figured Minnie would want to hear what had gone down. Not that much had. He had taken her there, dumped her, and headed back. Emerging from around a haystack, he purred That's all taken care of now. I dropped her at the border, and pointed her in the right direction. That was all she needed to know. @ChillCat @Whiteheart
|
Re: Minnie's barn
Minnie was almost asleep by the time Dark came back. "I guess everything went well?" she asked when she could see no sign of injury. "If you want to sleep here, pick a spot. The twolegs won't mind." Minnie found she quite liked the brown cat and wouldn't mind if he stayed. There weren't many cats who stayed for more than a few days, so life got pretty lonely when the only other thing to talk to was the dog. (border collie they're so cute and also really smart) @gs29513
|
Re: Minnie's barn
Yeah, it went fine. Dark grunted, sighting Minnie in her nest. When she offered for him to stay, he was a bit.......nervous? Curious? He wasn't sure really. He had never stayed with anyone else, but it WAS getting a bit dark for him to make it home in time. Deciding that since she had offered refusal would be impolite, he gave a somewhat curt nod before settling down nearby. Thank you. If you don't mind, I will. Already shaping the hay into a nice cocoon for his pelt, he was soon fast asleep, breathing heavily and softly. (Kits are poofed!) @ChillCat
|
Re: Minnie's barn
Spider was going to return to her home but then she saw two cats and a little kit by a barn. She went to go check them out. "Hello?" She mewed, twitching her half-ear. She dropped the squirrel she was carrying on the ground, and looked at the kit. She looked hungry, and scared. "You want this?" she asked and looked down at the kit and pushed the squirrel toward her

Re: Minnie's barn
(@Moonlight In The Night The thing with Hollykit is done, she's back at the THC border is you want to interact with @/Whiteheart I suggest you take it there)
"Good night." Minnie fell asleep. d r e a m s e q u e n c e o o o o o o o o o o o h s p o o k y Huh? Where am I? Minnie felt like she was floating, but her feet were firmly on the soft grass. The stars were spread out in the sky on a flat plain of grass. Everything looked peaceful, but something felt wrong. Um...what? Minnie heard some squeaking. She padded over to a small lump in the grass. Wait...kits? What's going on? Minnie woke up and mostly forgot her dream. The sun was shining through the holes in the barn, the smell of hay permeated her nose, and Dark was still sleeping in the hay bale next to her. Life was pretty good. @gs29513 |
Re: Minnie's barn
With a stretch, and a sneeze as hay invaded his nose, Dark awoke. Turning to Minnie, he asked How are you this morning? After all, it only seemed polite after she had shared her barn with him. Himself, he was pretty good. But she looked a bit .......disconcerted. Hopefully it was nothing. He didn't want her to be upset. His nose twitching, he scented a mouse, eating some kind of twoleg food. He figured they both ought to eat anyway. With a leap at the blissful creature, it was soon dead, and plopped down in front of Minnie, before he stalked away behind another haystack. Moments later, he emerged with another one, laying down in front of her. @ChillCat
|
Re: Minnie's barn
"Aw, thanks," Minnie said as she tucked into her mouse. "By the way, you never told me much about yourself. Where do you come from?" @gs29513
|
Re: Minnie's barn
I live in the woods. was all Dark was really willing to say at this point. She didn't need to know about everything else. No life storytime, no thank you, not him. Maybe she liked to do that, but it was NOT his thing. A bit thoughtfully, he took a bite of his mouse before asking slowly How long have you lived here? I've been around here for a while, and I haven't met you. Not that he usually went very far from his den, except to hunt and the like. He knew some cats were wanderers, with tales of far of lands, but that wasn't him. He much preferred his warm nest, in his den, with sounds he knew around him to the uncertainty of where his next meal or rest would be. No, he was not into traveling unless absolutely necessary. @ChillCat

Re: Minnie's barn
"I've lived here a long time, pretty much my whole life. My mother dropped me off here one day when i was a kit and I've been here ever since. I've tried to leave and make it by myself for a while but I got lonely." Minnie had always wondered what was beyond the horizon but had never been brave enough to stay out long. Her mother had always told her stories about the clans and about how some were good and some were evil. Something about how Shadowclan is good and cats from across the river are lying, cheating, traitors. @gs29513
(I'm writing a personal story where minnie's mom is a missing SHC cat of mine and told her kits stories about the clans until she left them at twoleg houses, their dad is a RC cat who betrayed her so the leader kicked her out) |
Re: Minnie's barn
(Her backstory sounds COOL!)
Wow. She was........a lot more revealing than he had expected. Nodding along politely as she talked, Dark was surprised by how eventful her life had been. His life had been fairly eventful as well, but not quite as eventful. He hadn't been abandoned or anything. Feeling a bit obligated to share now, he mewed slowly I was born in the clans. Life was good until I met Star. She was a beautiful loner, who charmed me. I left, to be with her. And then.............the monster killed her. He didn't want to talk anymore. @ChillCat |
Re: Minnie's barn
(Lmao i came up with it in like 5 minutes i realized 'hey i never did anything with ivyshade')
(Minnie only vaguely understands twolegs but understands some dog) Oh. Minnie wasn't expecting that. "I...I'm sorry." Suddenly, she heard footsteps. The twoleg farmer! "I don't know how the twoleg will react to another cat, you should hide!" The barn door opened, flooding the room with light. Minnie bounded up to the twoleg. "Hi! Hi! I haven't seen you since yesterday! I made a new friend! How's your mate? Have you seen any other cats? I had such a big day yesterday!" She did the thing cats do where they twirl themselves around your leg to show affection. "Oh, hello dear. What's gotten into you? I'm just here to get some hay for the cows, that's all. You keep catching those mice." @gs29513 |
Re: Minnie's barn
He wasn't looking for sympathy. He didn't want it. He just......wanted to get it off his chest a bit. His awkward response was halted by the twoleg's appearance though. Good, good. As Minnie told him to hide, Dark whisked behind a hay stack, in the far corner. A bit confused by twoleg talk and Minnie's affection, he stayed still until he heard the twoleg retreat. Emerging, he mewed quickly Thank you for warning me! Because really, he didn't want kidnapped, or taken to the cutter. @ChillCat
|
Re: Minnie's barn
"The twoleg's alright. And even if you do decide to stay he won't take you to the cutter because then we won't want to catch mice anymore. It's pretty much our whole job." @gs29513
|
Re: Minnie's barn
Still a bit suspicious of the "no cutter" claim, Dark nodded politely. I suppose. Cats definitely get lazier after that happens. Why do the twolegs even want us to catch the mice anyway? Because really, he wasn't sure. What did the mice do to them? What COULD the mice do to them? They were..........MANY times bigger than cats! They could kill them just by stepping on them with one of their huge, flat paws! Or they could have their monsters squash them! What did they need cats for? Not that he minded the odd acceptance of random cats hanging around twolegs. It had benefited him several times before. @ChillCat
|
Re: Minnie's barn
"I think they consider mice pests. They eat the hay that's meant for the cows, and they're too big and slow to catch the mice themselves, so they have us do it." Minnie was totally fine with working for the twolegs. "I could show you around the rest of the farm if you like." There were other things she wanted to do than stay inside all day. @gs29513
