Starling’s Territory(Open)
Sniffing the air to reassure herself that she was on track, Starling continued through the brush in her off-kilter hunting crouch. It hadn’t ever been good, and now with a belly swelling every day with kits it was only getting worse. Those kits were simultaneously making her hungrier and making it harder to hunt, a double blow that made the molly hiss in annoyance.
And there, with a fluttering chirp, went the sparrow she had been stalking. Brilliant. This piece of bad luck annoyed her further, and with another hiss she sank her claws into the leaf litter, grumbling to herself as she turned to trudge back to her temporary den, to wait for the animals to come out again. Well, more like her temporary hovel. It was dirty and leaked and was too hot, and she just wanted to go back to her twolegs, was that too much to ask? Apparently so. Because here she was, fur matted, stomach growling, lost in the wilds. All because she fell in love with STUPID, RECKLESS Plant. Lured her out here with the promise of a life together, and then got himself killed in about five seconds. She didn’t know how to hunt, how to build a den, and now the cat who was supposed to teach her was dead, leaving her lost and with kits to take care of into the bargain. FORGIVE HER FOR BEING A LITTLE BIT ANGRY! With another huff, she plopped down outside her ramshackle den, tail lashing. |
Re: Starling’s Territory(Open)
The young flame point ragdoll pranced into this unfamiliar place. Daisy loved exploring, and luckily her twolegs allowed her to do so regularly, because of her dark-blue collar with a bell on it. She sniffed the air, and scented... cat? ooh, a new friend! she thought. smiling, the little kittypet trotted onward. a gust of wind ruffled her soft, delicate fur as she went. @gs29513

Re: Starling’s Territory(Open)
Starling’s rest was disturbed, most annoyingly, by the loud jingling of a bell making its way through her territory. Rising with a soft hiss she stalked towards the noise, although lacking in the stealth she imagined was required to actually surprise a foe. Although who knew. This kittypet seemed pretty ditsy. Either way she announced her presence early, calling out in what she hoped was a fierce tone Who are you? And what are you doing here? This is my territory you know! as she emerged from the bushes, tail lashing as she confronted the younger molly. @Blossomflight_:D (Yep, still open!)

Well, at least the kittypet seemed to have backed down near-instantly. Starling was pretty sure that as hungry and inexperienced as she was it would be a big ask for her to win a fight. Instead of pushing and relaxed her fur somewhat, although keeping her claws unsheathed. Glad to hear it. she mewed smoothly, voice lacking it’s early hostility. If you don’t mind me asking though, why are you here? Normally she wasn’t one for polite conversation, but if she couldn’t fight then she had to put up with it. @Blossomflight_:D

Huh. Ok. Wandering about getting into trouble. Clearly Daisy didn’t understand the dangers that could lurk in the woods, to be avoided if possible, but Starling had no intention of educating her right now. My name is Starling. she mewed, thinking for a minute before adding I used to be a kittypet before STUPID PLANT tricked me into leaving my twolegs. Venom certainly rose in her voice at the name of her former lover, the memory still fresh in her mind. @Blossomflight_:D

Re: Starling’s Territory(Open)
Hmm, this cat seemed to laugh a lot. It was beginning to get on Starlings nerves a bit, how little Daisy cared about her obvious irritation and she felt her anger begin to rise, feeling as though her fur was heating up and setting her tail to lashing. Sucking in a deep breath she tried to calm herself, eventually gritting out Yes. sharply, and through her teeth. And then, because self control was not her strong suit, she snapped Do you always giggle so much? You sound like an idiot! tail lashing a few more times as if in emphasis of her irritation. @Blossomflight_:D

Re: Starling’s Territory(Open)
Starling wasn't quite pleased to see Daisy crouching and cowering, but it did give her a certain sense of control that she had lacked in recent times. She might not have been able to prevent herself from ending up here, but she could make this little kittypet cower before her, and that was a power she could already think of a few uses for. I'm glad to hear it. she mewed coldly, digging her claws into the ground in an emphasis of their existence. Now that it was clear Daisy was no danger to her, no threat, she didn't have to be polite. She could be angry and mean if she wanted to, and she DID want to. If you're done being foolish, you can take me back to your twoleg nest. I'm getting a bit hungry and I'm sure they've got plenty of food for you there. Was it an unreasonable demand? Yes. Did she fully expect Daisy to obey? Not quite sure. Was Starling bothered by either of those things? No.
@Blossomflight_:D (You don't have to have Daisy agree if you don't want to, if she leaves now Starling isn't going to follow her unless she gives some indication that she'll do what Starling says.) |

Re: Starling’s Territory(Open)
Well that was unexpected. The little kittypet did have some fight after all, only bringing her serious side to the fore when Starling actively tried to push her around. Fine. Starling had gone past the option of politeness, so if the other wanted to take things into the realm of claws she really had no choice but to oblige. She certainly had no intention of backing down. You'd do that because you're a weak little kittypet who doesn't have a backbone or any idea how to fight. Starling snarled, tail lashing, pointedly ignoring the fact that she also had no idea how to fight beyond hitting another cat with claws unsheathed instead of sheathed. @Blossomflight_:D

Re: Starling’s Territory(Open)
Daisy had clearly taken her statement very much to heart(as Starling had intended), and launched herself at Starling with her(scarily) long claws unsheathed and shining in the sun. The sun soon had something else to shine on, blood. While Daisy wasn't quite large enough to send Starling flying, she was large enough to give her a nasty stumble. The older she-cat stumbled backwards, blood now dripping from the slice across her chest. It wasn't large but it hurt, especially as Starling wasn't used to fighting. Still unbalanced she aimed a flailing counterstrike at her opponent, although it lacked power and direction and would require quite a bit of luck to make contact. @Blossomflight_:D

Re: Starling’s Territory(Open)
As expected the smaller molly dodged the strike, before sending one of her own in return. Despite her attempt to dodge a small nick appeared in her left ear, stinging less than the wound on her chest but still painful. Shaking her head quickly Starling decided to go on the offensive, leaping at Daisy with her paws outstretched. She hoped to use her greater size to pin the other to the ground, or at least knock her off balance. @Blossomflight_:D

Re: Starling’s Territory(Open)
Yes! Hissing in triumph as the smaller molly went down beneath her paws, Starling was preparing to send blows towards Daisy's stomach when claws found her own. Yelping she pushed down before jumping away as teeth flew towards her nose, catching the side of it and pulling a small chunk of flesh free. Her hissing continued but her ears flattened, for the first time something akin to fear showing in her gaze. She arched her back in an effort to appear threatening, but it was obvious by the amount of blood dripping onto the ground as she just stood there that her belly had been badly wounded. It wasn't fatal, and she aimed another swipe indiscriminately at the other molly's head, but Starling's ears were flattened against her head and her tail low as she took a few steps backwards. She might be angry, but she wasn't stupid. This wasn't looking like a fight she could win. @Blossomflight_:D

Re: Starling’s Territory(Open)
That little.....Starling resisted the urge to leap back into battle, the absolute impertinence of the little molly was driving her insane. She wanted nothing more than to claw her face off, but she had the sense to acknowledged that as wounded as she was it would be idiotic to reignite the conflict. Her breathing was heavy as she struggled to contain her rage, and when she did speak it was with a cold, angry tone. Fine. I too have no desire for this to end in a loss of life. she grunted, turning with a lash of her tail. She attempted a defiant, powerful, stalking movement, but her walking was far closer to a hobbling stagger than anything else as she tried to disguise the fact that her belly was still dripping blood, along with her chest. Starling muttered under her breath angrily, insults flowing like a stream. That little wretch, no idea who she thinks she is, I have no idea how she got even halfway decent at fighting. A foxheart and a faker too, acting all timid and then aggressive, I bet she just wanted to steal my territory.

Oh, if ever she wished she could shoot fire from her eyes it was now. Sucking in a deep breath Starling didn’t even dignify the insulting question with an answer, padding past her den and deeper into the woods. If stupid Daisy wanted her stupid territory, she could have it. @Blossomflight_:D (I think this is a logical ending place.)
