Strive for our ancestors!
 

Event [#event]

Paleblossom stood on a tall rock, bellowing his voice “COME ON DOWN! A SPARRING EVENT IS STARTING! NO MORE USELESS FLOWER EVENTS! SPAR, SPAR, SPAR!” Hoping the cats would gather around the rock where he was sat on. {Next Post will be when we start}

The brown and white tom's ears twitched in annoyance at Paleblossom's words, as well as the arrogance with them. Stagfrost had never been one to turn down a sparring event, but he didn't like that attitude. "Paleblossom! While I appreciate seeing other warriors taking initiative and organizing things like this, there is also nothing wrong with bonding events - fighting skills will be little worth if we can't work together in the battlefield as well." He was very tempted to give the warrior a longer lecture, but that would do for now, and the tom simply waited for everyone else to gather.

Littlepaw heard her future denmate’s call about a… a sparring event? As much as Littlepaw didn’t want to fight, she knew it would be the right thing to learn. After all, the other Clans were unpredictable, she didn’t want to get caught unawares and be unable to defend herself!

“I… I guess I’m in,” she said as she approached Paleblossom. The two had never formally met the warrior, so what could a short introduction harm? “I’m Littlepaw, by the way.”

She frowned. What was it now? A sparring event? She'll put up with bonding events, since they strengthened the Clan's loyalty to each other and let them rest every once in a while, but a sparring event?

"I agree with Stagfrost." If tone of voice could kill, the disapproval dripping from her voice would have had Paleblossom six feet under. "What is the point of this? The bonding events strengthen our bonds with one another. We become stronger that way. The only way I see this becoming useful is if you plan to memorize the way we fight in order to turn on us."

Oh stars. Right from when she heard the loud yowling, Fawnpaw could sense the tension ruffle her pelt like a foreboding breeze. Out from the medicine den she slipped, brown paws working quickly to carry her over to the event. Cats were riled up, and rightfully so, as she came to stand near Lilycreek, Stagfrost, and Paleblossom. Was she... could she interject? Neither Pikestar nor Slatewhisker were here and she didn't want this to fall back on them after having so many other things to deal with and handle. So, mustering up all the courage she could, the medicine cat spoke.

"Mr. Paleblossom, I just wanted to let you know, that, uhm, flower events aren't useless." Her voice was soft and small, but she fought to keep her gave from wavering. "They help bring the Clan together in these recent times, and make... make all the loss we've suffered more bearable, to know that we have Clanmate who care." Hopefully that would be understood? Shifting her gaze now to Lilycreek, something in her expression softened. "And a sparing event is good to brush up on fighting skills. It will help keep us sharp, and ready to defend our Clan, and those within it."

Part of her felt as though it were vibrating as she attempted to swallow her anxiety. "I think this is a really good event to hold, Mr. Paleblossom, but please... don't tear down other events for it." A hopeful gleam shimmered in her gaze as she smiled at both of the cats, giving a wave of her tail.

Her respect for the medicine cat outweighed wanting to argue. She dipped her head in apology toward Paleblossom. Perhaps she was just too stressed and wound up. "Very well."

She turned toward the medicine cat, who had trembled before dissolving the issue. A small glimmer of approval flashed in her mind, before it evaporated as she turned away.

Relief washed through her pelt like morning mist as Lilycreek seemed to relax. Not that she had expected the she-cat to start any sort of argument - after all, she had just been agreeing with Stagfrost. She gave a grateful nod of her head to the warrior as she departed before looking back at Paleblossom. Disappointment settled in between her shoulder blades, but her expression remained soft. "You don't have to - every cat is entitled to their own opinion - but saying it out loud... well, it can hurt others feelings. And we are a Clan, a family. We're not meant to tear each other down. Okay?" As if to reassure him, Fawnpaw offered a small smile.

With the situation mostly settled, the young medicine cat waved her tail in farewell. "I do hope your sparring event goes well, Mr. Paleblossom." Another short dip of her head before the young medicine cat turned and quickly hurried back into her den.

[ @GlowLight23 @lonely.lilyx - I can't have Fawnpaw participate since I am too busy, but I did want to have her step in since she wouldn't have tolerated any Clanmates event ideas being torn down. ]

She turned to Paleblossom. "I'm sorry if I offended you. I've been a bit... upset these past days. Maybe this event will take my mind off of it."

She gave a small smile. She hadn't sparred in a while, so what was the harm in it? Perhaps she would be able to heal a little bit.

He hadn't expected anyone to react much to his words, other than Paleblossom who he had hoped would take a second to think over his words, and then understand the problem, and maybe apologize or at least change their behavior. But that didn't happen, instead, Paleblossom seemed to ignore everything related to thinking about what they did, and Lilycreek had either misunderstood Stagfrost's words about the sparring event or only agreed with the first part of what he said. A light sigh left the brown and white tom's body, but the young medicine cat beat him to calm the two cats down. He respected Fawnpaw as much as he did any other apprentice, and while having a medicine cat who noticed when there was bickering among their clanmates, he would prefer she left these things to warriors when they were present.

It got the job done at least, so Stagfrost went back to waiting for the event to start.

FoamCoast padded up to the event to Fawnpaw telling a warrior off? Hm,A small smile fell of their face. Fawnpaw was a medicine cat yet through all her stress, she managed to get out here and speak to warrior in a polite way. That was more than they could say about other apprentices. “Paleblossom,Ahem. You as a warrior should know that said Quote on Quote Useless Flower Events are one of the most useful things as a clan we can do,it brings us together and raised the mood after all we have lost these past weeks. Get your damn act together,Act as a warrior and not an apprentice.”
FoamCoast made complete eye contact as they spoke,Words rolling off their tongue softly, Their voice was soft,barely above a light inside voice; FoamCoast wasn’t just going to allow a cat to speak poorly of another clanmates actions or event,That Flower event was far more useful than a sparing event in FoamCoasts opinion. They scoffed,this warrior was a true displeasure to be around,FoamCoasts ocean blue eyes never left the warriors that was basically yelling.

Littlepaw nodded at Paleblossom's speech. She understood the no unsheathed claws part, but no cheating? How would one cheat during a sparring event? It seemed to be rather impossible to the young she-cat, but who knew? Maybe it was possible to cheat, but Littlepaw didn't want to, even if she knew how. She was here to learn and improve, not to cheat and struggle during a fight later on when RiverClan depended on her. Patiently, she waited to be put into a team so she could begin her sparring.

Gingerfrost poofed into existence in this event to supervise participate after he heard a mousebrain spewing stuff (who apparently apologised now) and because he could use some battle practice. Yay. Why was he doing this? Well he went to check out the arguing, and now he was here. The decidedly less smart of him had decided it was a good idea to participate. At least it would give him some practice.

Littlepaw smiled and walked over to Paleblossom, although surprised she wasn't with her mentor. I guess that's alright. It gives me an opportunity to learn more about my Clanmates... but what if Paleblossom doesn't like me? Littlepaw shuddered at the thought but didn't let it stop her as she padded over to the host of the event.

(Pretty sure I was supposed to say this before but Lilycreek will be participating!)

She looked at the warrior, surveying them. Foamcoast. Not that she'd ever heard the name, but really, could they be any more ominous? She really couldn't decide if they were amusing or if they got on her nerves.

"Pleased to meet you, Foamcoast. I'm Lilycreek, though you already knew that. That's all you need to know about me." Ah yes, nothing like throwing a little sarcasm around. She smiled at the other warrior. "Since we're on the same team, let's work hard."
