Berrypaw shuffled her paws at the foot of the Starpoint, having to collecting herself with several deep breaths. Her little heart hammered against her chest, terrified at the mere idea of having to announce something, but...

Her large eyes flicked over to Fadingstar beside her, finding relief in his own green hues, seeing him looking at her encouragingly. The leader had been more than kind to her, from the moment she'd become the medicine cat apprentice until now; at first she'd been a bit terrified of him, but getting to know him had certainly softened the edge. And now he was sitting beside her, offering the moral support she'd needed to continue. She took in a shaky breath, offering him a sheepish nod before turning her gaze to the clearing.

"R..." Berry started to say before she coughed, the words catching in her throat. She ducked her head a bit, attempting to speak again while her skin burned under her fur in embarrassment.

"R-RiverClan!" Berrypaw finally squeaked out, her meek voice surprisingly loud as she forced herself to be heard, much to her own dismay. Stars, seeing a bunch of eyes turn to her at once... she wanted to shrink into her own skin.

Berrypaw had to pause once more at the sight, breathing in deeply through her nose to settle her voice enough to speak. "M...Mistyshard and I worked really hard to heal you all after the raid on our home... b-but now we are terribly low on herbs. I-I know there isn't too much out here, and it can be dangerous, but... any help you can give, we'd really appreciate," she mewed, cautiously giving Fadingstar a glance, as if asking for reassurance that she was doing alright before she continued.

Traversing the mountains could be risky, but anything they could find would be incredibly helpful; otherwise, they'd be stuck having to let cats go untreated. RiverClan was, quite literally, stuck in between a rock and a hard place... well, kinda on a rock too, given that they were on a mountain, but... you get the gist.

"P-Please, ah... gather around me and Fadingstar if you'd like to help... warriors and apprentices only," she added quickly, knowing some eager kit like Daisykit would likely run up trying to throw themselves into danger just to be helpful.

With that the little brown she-cat let out a shuddering sigh and sat back on her haunches, her heart still pounding.

Welcome to my first event!! If there's anything I'm missing/did wrong, pls let me know hehe. Here's some deets!

- This event is being hosted by Berrypaw (me) and Fadingstar (@/occultation). Please only post once of your cat arriving so that it's easy for us to track. The setup for the actual herb gathering itself will be explained in a future post once everyone arrives!

- This event is open for warriors and apprentices only; NO KITS. Please refrain from having your kit show up just because we'll need them to be taken away, and it'll clutter the event a bit.

**The deadline to post your cat showing up for the event is August 8th. After that, Fading and Berry will split everyone up into herb patrol groups and give directions from there. [I will be adding the patrol time limits/requirements in this main post as well once we get it set after everyone arrives!]**

Daisykit stumbled out of the medicine cat den. "But sissy!!!" She whined, "Why can't I help! I'm stronger now!!! I can grab a few plants." Daisykit pouted, waddling adorably up to Berrypaw, struggling a bit but then eventually plopping herself inbetween her adoptive siblings forepaws. Seeing Fadingstar, Daisykit meowed. "Oh... I'm I being bad again....."

Willowtail watched her sisters fondly as she padded up, sitting in front of them, "Looks like you've got your paws full...... literally." Willowtail teased Berrypaw.

Softpaw padded forward, "I'll go on one!" She purred. Calmly sitting down

Rainpaw and Ravenpaw gathered around Berrypaw. Rainpaw in particular was eager to assist, Ravenpaw decided to come along mostly for moral support for her sister. I'd much rather be doing combat training. She thought bitterly. But Rainpaw's eyes were bright and determined.

Hearing the call for an herb patrol, Larkwing quickly gathered around. There were still plenty of sick and injured, the lack of herbs was concerning. Most of all, though, her worry centered around Fishfreckle, who's condition was concerning to her. She didn't know if he'd be able to make the journey back home unless he got some help, and that came in the form of herb gathering - as much as the spotted grey tabby would protest that he didn't need any stupid herbs.

Foxleap trodded over from the warrior's den to upon hearing the clan gathering around Fadingstar and Berrypaw, his honey colored eyes glinting as he glanced at his fellow clanmates and nodded a greeting to each who passed by. The young tom sat on his haunches and listened with intent to Berrypaw, vowing to himself that he would help gather as many herbs as possible. Whatever he could do to contribute to Riverclan, especially now. He was confident in his hunting abilities... albeit, for prey.

Maybe I can get a whiff of the scent of whatever herbs we already have to help find more.

The fox patterned tom, picking up on Berrypaw's anxiousness, smiled warmly as if hoping that his friendly expression would ease a bit of her nerves.

In the shadows of the cliffs that surrounded RiverClan's camp, Irisfrost groomed her flank, eyes half-closed in concentration. She didn't need the wash, but it was something to do, something to take her mind of Bearsnout's disappearance. Unhelpful thoughts still made their way into her kind, but it was better than nothing.

Upon hearing Berrypaw's nervous call, Irisfrost abandoned her wash and padded towards the medicine cat apprentice with a dip of her head. She wanted to help the clan any way possible, even if she didn't know any herbs beside the ones that were common knowledge. She was sure Berrypaw would find a way around that problem.

It would help keep her mind off her brother, too.

Berrypaw had been murmuring to Fadingstar for some advice on how to do all this, and now, she finally collected the courage to raise her voice again. She giggled and shook her head at Daisykit, lightly shooing her away with a whispered promise to hangout with her later. The medicine cat apprentice also returned Foxleap's smile, grateful for the brief display of encouragement... she could use it, with the war her tail was trembling.Her leafy-green eyes surveyed the assembled cats and she took in a shaky, deep breath before continuing.

"Alright! I have laid out some herbs here for you all to look at. We'll need as much as we can get of each thing, so... g-grab all you can, okay?" She added a bit sheepishly at the end, as if that wasn't already a given... Focus, Berry!

"Since we're up on a bunch of rocks, most of you are gonna have to travel down towards the forest, so... sorry. Heh. Ahem, well... I-I'm gonna split you up into patrols with a leader, too. So... here we go!"

Berrypaw nudged some flowers into view, motioning with her tail. "This is marigold — a small, short, yellowish-orange flower that usually grows in bunches in the forest...Duskleaf [ @Concorde ], you can take Willowtail and Softpaw [ both @ChromeSilver_Hwaa ] with you to find some. This one is pretty important, so try to find a lot, if you can!"

Next, she gestured to another flower laying on the rock. "This is borage — a purple star-shaped flowers that grow on skinny stalks. The leaves of this plant are really big and wide, so it should be easy to spot on the forest floor... Owltalon [ @Marigoldwhisper ], you can take Foxleap [ @twizzypaw ] and Adderstrike [ @Fish ] with you to find some.

Then Berrypaw turned to the next bunch of cats with a slight chuckle. "We also need cobwebs... rather desperately. You guys should be all too familiar with it, but just in case — it's really sticky white stuff, mostly found in spider nests or any sort of dark crevice in between rocks, or tree holes... this is essential to stop bleeding, so we'll need as much as possible! It's easiest to collect by wrapping it around some small sticks... and saves it from sticking to your fur too much," she added with a light purr. "Heroneye [ @Fits ], you can take Rainpaw [ @Luna16 ] and Floodsight [ @goodacacia ] to go look for cobwebs. Like I said... as much as you can carry!"

Then she glanced over at the next few cats, pawing forward a bright flower. "This is a poppy flower — bright red with a black center, usually in sparse bunches or so in the forest. It grows seeds on the inside, which is what we're aiming for; you can bring the whole flower if that's easier than carrying a bunch of tiny seeds," she purred in amusement. "Caveclaw [ @Idiotic.Bean101 ], you can take Sunsetgleam [ @Minkuu ] and Ravenpaw [ @/Luna16 ] to find poppy flowers/seeds in the forest."

Next, Berrypaw took in a breath (she wasn't used to talking this much) before turning to the next few volunteers, pawing forward some moss. "I-I think most of us know what moss looks like, heh... b-but we'll need a whole lot of it for soaking up bleeding for any wound. It's soft, green, kinda mushy stuff that usually grows on rocks and trees, especially by water... Brokenstream [ @TanghuluCat ], you can take Deerspark [ @/Marigoldwhisper ] and Marigoldpaw [ @/same ] with you... get as much as you can carry!"

Okay, only a few more... she padded over to the next few cats, dropping another flower at their paws (she didn't know what this herb did yet, but she kept that part to herself, heh). "This is coltsfoot — a very short, low-growing yellow flower grows anywhere in the forest, but mostly by the roots of trees. We'll mainly need the leaves, so make sure to grab those too. Fadingstar [ @occultation ], you can take Larkwing [ @Neptune. ] and Irisfrost [ @kittycatburmise ] to find some."

Okay... last group! Jeez, this was a lot of talking. The small she-cat took in a shaky breath and padded over to the last three cats, almost out of breath from both her nerves and yapping. "O-Okay, so you guys... these are juniper berries." She pawed some over to them for reference. "Small, purple-blue berries, usually found in a dark green bush that has spiky leaves. They have a very pungent smell... as you can tell," she grunted, shriveling her pink nose a bit. "It's in the forest, but mainly grows in drier places, so try to look away from water. Splashleap [ @ gs29513 ], you can take Spiraltail [ @Tallstar ] and Bravebolt [ @Yoshdo ]." She also didn't know what juniper berries did yet, but hey, they were in the den and she'd seen them around... must be important.

Finally done! Okay, so... the little brown flecked she-cat stepped back to see everyone, feeling her skin burn under her fur. She didn't exactly enjoy bossing cats around... but at least this meant they'd get some herbs they desperately needed.

"Alright, I-I'll be staying right here, so... report back to me as soon as you can... and, uh, t-thanks, everyone!" She added sheepishly at the end before wriggling her tail, as if a signal for them to head out. Thank StarClan, that's over... deep breaths now...

HERB PATROLS WILL BE DUE ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 15TH.

But feel free to bring them before! If you need an extension, please let me or occy know by the 13th!

We would encourage a posting order, with the first cat listed being the patrol leader. All cats should report back to Berrypaw with their herbs, however, since you're all carrying them individually. You can use dice rolls or any of your preferred methods for patrols. If there are any questions at all, please ask me or occy! :heartbounce:

Herbs! Ya gotta love em, or hate em. Didn't really matter to Owltalon personally how others felt about the odd smelling plants, they were helpful, and she sure didn't mind finding some for the herbalists. "Al'ight y'all! Get yer rumps o'er 'ere, we need to do this quickly and efficiently." Owltalon had a good amount of faith in her patrol mates, so no doubt they'd pull through.

Deerspark was fully aware that he had practically been volunteering for this, and yet, hearing his name get called was enough for him to get mental whiplash. AH! What was that!? Who?! Oh... Oh herbs. Okay. Sure. Two cats he was familiar with, but they probably didn't know him (expected. He was an antisocial ball of fur). So, Deerspark just curled up and waited for them. Though, the white and orange apprentice seemed to get to him first. She bounded up to him, her strides clumsy and unorganized. Deerspark just blinked away the pebbles that sprang up in her wake.

HERBSSS! She had no right to be so excited, especially since it was just moss, but oh boy, was she excited! Oh finally, finally, finally! She'd been wanting to put her skills to good use for eons now, and the opportunity was opening up to her. Seeing as one of the patrol members, (Deerspark was it?) was already waiting, Marigoldpaw scrambled up to the tom, a wide smile plastered onto her face. "Hello! I'm uhm Marigoldpaw! Kinda forgot your name, super sorry about that."

“Sunsetgleam, Ravenpaw, over here.” She said rather bluntly, just loud enough to hear.

Heroneye listened as Berrypaw assigned each patrol. So she was to find cobwebs, huh? Sounded easy enough; spiders weren't exactly the rarest creatures, and just about any cat could identify their webs, even without any prior herbal knowledge.

And her patrol included Rainpaw and Floodsight. She didn't know Rainpaw, but Heroneye got along with the latter fine enough, so she wasn't particularly concerned. How interesting--it seemed that this was turning into something that even Heroneye could accomplish without issue.

"Rainpaw, Floodsight, it's Heroneye, over here," Heroneye called, stifling an awkward grimace. She hated calling out like that, being heard by so many cats. But if her summon fulfilled its function, then it would hopefully all be worth it.

Brokenstream nodded and leapt to his feet as Berrypaw called him to collect moss, giving her an encouraging nod as he passed the medicine cat apprentice. It must be nerve wracking to speak up in front of everyone at such a young age. Not that he was too much older, but he understood.

The Lionheart bounded up to Deerspark and Marigoldpaw with a friendly mew. ”Ready for some moss picking?”

Hearing her name being called by the apprentice got Floodsight nervous to meet her group. Rainpaw, her clanmate who she's hasn't had any interactions with. Floodsight was sure she's fine, just her own lack of sociability just never led those two to meeting. Heroneye, on the other hand, was someone she knew. In Floodsight's mind, Heroneye was calm, collected and easy to be with. Instantly, Floodsight felt a little more relieved before looking around for the other two cats.

Upon seeing Heroneye, she greeted the fellow warrior, thinking quickly of something to say. "H-hi! Congratulations on becoming a Lionheart!"

Floodsight sat and waited for the apprentice to find their way to the group. 'Cobwebs...should be easy enough' Afterall, there are almost always spiders around. Unlike some plants that needed a whole season to replenish themselves.

Padding over to his assigned group, the russet tom dipped his head to greet Owltalon and Adderstrike. Unfamiliar with herbs, he quickly paced towards the rock nearby the group where the borage flower was placed. Taking a big sniff of it's purple petals, he sneezed at the pungency before shaking his head and rejoining his group.

"Whew, talk about stinky... Owltalon, Adderstike... I'm ready when you are!" He meowed enthusiastically, his long bushy tail waving eagerly behind him.

Rainpaw nodded dutifully, looking around at her gathered clanmates. Heroneye...and Floodsight. She wasn't sure who they were and how to go about finding them... She knew that Heroneye was a Lionheart, but that was it. Ravenpaw probably knows who she is. She turned to ask her sister, but before she could she heard a voice call her name. She looked over, seeing a cat who introduced herself as Heroneye. Rainpaw breathed a sigh of relief and rushed over.

She bowed her head respectfully. "H-Hello!" She mewed, a little anxious working with two warriors she wasn't familiar with. "I-I'm Rainpaw. I look forward to working with you!" Cobwebs. Cobwebs were simple enough of an assignment.

When Rainpaw was assigned a different patrol, Ravenpaw felt a tiny sense of dread settle in her belly. She hadn't really gotten too much of a chance to get to know many of her other clanmates, she was momentarily worried that things would be awkward. But then she heard she was assigned to a patrol with Caveclaw, and that anxiety was replaced with a different one: she'd be sharing a patrol with a Lionheart. When she heard her name she whirled around.

She bounded over to Caveclaw, who she recognized from the meeting, and another warrior who she assumed was Sunsetgleam. She nodded at them as she approached. "Heya! I'm Ravenpaw." She introduced herself with a friendly mew. She hoped she'd be able to not accomplish this task, but also leave a positive impression on the older cats. "I'm ready to go!" She meowed loudly, actually excited for this quest now.

Berrypaw had been murmuring to Fadingstar for some advice on how to do all this, and now, she finally collected the courage to raise her voice again. She giggled and shook her head at Daisykit, lightly shooing her away with a whispered promise to hangout with her later. "Alright! I have laid out some herbs here for you all to look at. We'll need as much as we can get of each thing, so... g-grab all you can, okay?" She added a bit sheepishly at the end, as if that wasn't already a given... Focus, Berry!

"Since we're up on a bunch of rocks, most of you are gonna have to travel down towards the forest, so... sorry. Heh. Ahem, well... I-I'm gonna split you up into patrols with a leader, too. So... here we go!"

Berrypaw nudged some flowers into view, motioning with her tail. "This is marigold — a small, short, yellowish-orange flower that usually grows in bunches in the forest...Duskleaf [ @Concorde ], you can take Willowtail and Softpaw [ both @ChromeSilver_Hwaa ] with you to find some. This one is pretty important, so try to find a lot, if you can!"

Next, she gestured to another flower laying on the rock. "This is borage — a purple star-shaped flowers that grow on skinny stalks. The leaves of this plant are really big and wide, so it should be easy to spot on the forest floor... Owltalon [ @Marigoldwhisper ], you can take Foxleap [ @twizzypaw ] and Adderstrike [ @Fish ] with you to find some.

Then Berrypaw turned to the next bunch of cats with a slight chuckle. "We also need cobwebs... rather desperately. You guys should be all too familiar with it, but just in case — it's really sticky white stuff, mostly found in spider nests or any sort of dark crevice in between rocks, or tree holes... this is essential to stop bleeding, so we'll need as much as possible! It's easiest to collect by wrapping it around some small sticks... and saves it from sticking to your fur too much," she added with a light purr. "Heroneye [ @Fits ], you can take Rainpaw [ @Luna16 ] and Floodsight [ @goodacacia ] to go look for cobwebs. Like I said... as much as you can carry!"

Then she glanced over at the next few cats, pawing forward a bright flower. "This is a poppy flower — bright red with a black center, usually in sparse bunches or so in the forest. It grows seeds on the inside, which is what we're aiming for; you can bring the whole flower if that's easier than carrying a bunch of tiny seeds," she purred in amusement. "Caveclaw [ @Idiotic.Bean101 ], you can take Sunsetgleam [ @Minkuu ] and Ravenpaw [ @/Luna16 ] to find poppy flowers/seeds in the forest."

Next, Berrypaw took in a breath (she wasn't used to talking this much) before turning to the next few volunteers, pawing forward some moss. "I-I think most of us know what moss looks like, heh... b-but we'll need a whole lot of it for soaking up bleeding for any wound. It's soft, green, kinda mushy stuff that usually grows on rocks and trees, especially by water... Brokenstream [ @TanghuluCat ], you can take Deerspark [ @/Marigoldwhisper ] and Marigoldpaw [ @/same ] with you... get as much as you can carry!"

Okay, only a few more... she padded over to the next few cats, dropping another flower at their paws (she didn't know what this herb did yet, but she kept that part to herself, heh). "This is coltsfoot — a very short, low-growing yellow flower grows anywhere in the forest, but mostly by the roots of trees. We'll mainly need the leaves, so make sure to grab those too. Fadingstar [ @occultation ], you can take Larkwing [ @Neptune. ] and Irisfrost [ @kittycatburmise ] to find some."

Okay... last group! Jeez, this was a lot of talking. The small she-cat took in a shaky breath and padded over to the last three cats, almost out of breath from both her nerves and yapping. "O-Okay, so you guys... these are juniper berries." She pawed some over to them for reference. "Small, purple-blue berries, usually found in a dark green bush that has spiky leaves. They have a very pungent smell... as you can tell," she grunted, shriveling her pink nose a bit. "It's in the forest, but mainly grows in drier places, so try to look away from water. Splashleap [ @ gs29513 ], you can take Spiraltail [ @Tallstar ] and Bravebolt [ @Yoshdo ]." She also didn't know what juniper berries did yet, but hey, they were in the den and she'd seen them around... must be important.

Finally done! Okay, so... the little brown flecked she-cat stepped back to see everyone, feeling her skin burn under her fur. She didn't exactly enjoy bossing cats around... but at least this meant they'd get some herbs they desperately needed.

"Alright, I-I'll be staying right here, so... report back to me as soon as you can... and, uh, t-thanks, everyone!" She added sheepishly at the end before wriggling her tail, as if a signal for them to head out. Thank StarClan, that's over... deep breaths now...

HERB PATROLS WILL BE DUE ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 15TH.

But feel free to bring them before! If you need an extension, please let me or occy know by the 13th!

We would encourage a posting order, with the first cat listed being the patrol leader. All cats should report back to Berrypaw with their herbs, however, since you're all carrying them individually. You can use dice rolls or any of your preferred methods for patrols. If there are any questions at all, please ask me or occy! :heartbounce:

Willowtail touched her nose to Berrypaw's ear in greeting and agreement. "Marigold? Sounds easy enough. We'll have it in time for you!!!!! Ah, that was good. Berrypaw had asked him to get the one herb he actually was familiar with. By now, he could recognise marigold when he seen it, making it the first plant he could do that with. Learning to visually recognise herb would help a lot. He had absolutely no idea what it did, but at least he could retrieve it with ease now. "Marigold, got it." He said, before turning around to look for Willowtail and Softpaw. He realised they’d already found each other and were just waiting for him now. "Stars, they’re fast…" He murmured to himself in surprise.

He dipped his head respectfully in greeting to both cats after getting closer. "Both of you are already here, brilliant, let's go." He said, turning to leave. This time he took it easy and walked somewhat slowly going to find the herbs since he wasn’t worrying about Dusklion's safety this time. Time was important still, but he didn’t think speed would be a problem at all with Willowtail and Softpaw.

Willowtail gave a small purr, Softpaw despite being younger than Willowtail, the she-cats were about the same size. Though Willowtail's mother was a munckin cat and her father was an American shorthair, making her the size of a new apprentice, Willowtail almost had to trot along to catch up to the warrior as he set off, being blessed with not the legs of a munckin cat but the size they grew to. Hearing Softpaw's teasing purr, Willowtail snorted good naturedly.

The apprentice turned to face Brokenstream, her eyes alight with excitement. "Oh yep yep, of course! I'm uh, I'm really stoked! Where to first? I wanna hit allll the stops!" She smiled ear to ear, her giddiness reaching all the way down to her paws. Oh this was weird, she was being weird wasn't she? She should definitely apologize. "Sorry! Sorry! I'm uhm, I'm just excited, ha."

Deerspark was (rightfully) scared and amused by Marigoldpaw's excitement, earning the apprentice a slight and sideways smile. He then turned to Brokenstream and dipped his head to the Lionheart. Heck yeah he was. As long as nothing absolutely horrible happened. Gee, what a way to think. Great job, Deerspark, that enthusiasm of yours is really shining through.

Adderstrike was happy to help her clan in anyway possible but she still had some hang ups about medicine cats in general. She would never say these feelings aloud since she doubted that a med cat would care or have the time to listen to her... And why would she open her heart out to a random cat anyways? Someone who had nothing to do with the situation. Well, herbs. She needed to get herbs and borage was what was on the docket. She knew what the plant looked like well but she didn't want to interrupt as the others might not know.

It also seemed like her team had gathered before her and they seemed rearing to get up and get out of here. It warmed her heart to see warriors so ready and willing to help their clan. Some cats seemed to know how to disappoint her well but both of these cats had a good head on their shoulders. "Sorry for being a little late. I'm ready to go when you two are." Adderstrike said with a calm smile. They need not know how she felt about this truly. Honestly, she didn't fully understand the feelings she felt.

"Aye, hey Adder," she smiled at the warrior before turning back to snicker at Foxleap's comment. An amusing tom he was. "Al'ight, the teams all 'ere. Now, let's go find the borage." And with that, the scarred she-cat lead the group away from the others and ventured farther into territory. She opened her mouth a few times to try and smell anything vaguely unfamiliar and tart smelling (even borderline musky if she were to go off Foxleap's words). As bright and vibrant purple was, Owltalon's sight wasn't the absolute best. She could still see, but she was completely blind in one eye and had to squint in her other. Eh, it shouldn't be a problem, the cats she was patrolling with had a good pair of eyes (unless Foxleap had some kind of injury her roleplayer didn't know about).

That's when she saw it. Wait no... She smelt it. Again, seeing was pretty hard for her. Her eyes darted to and fro as she scanned the area for a blurry blob of purple. She squinted her eyes and gave the air a good sniff. She was indeed hit with something unusual and odd smelling. "Hey, found it! Or at least some of it." Owltalon cocked her head to the side and kneeled at the flowers. Yeah, she can't count them with all there colors spilling into each other. "Could one of ya be a dear and count these for me?" Without further questioning, Owltalon opened her jaws in hopes of retrieving the herb.

Berries berries berries, time to find some berries! Splashleap chirped a swift Sounds good! Let's roll guys! in the general direction of Berrypaw and her patrolmates respectively, before heading in the general direction of........not-water. Seemed clear enough, and there were even a few trees and bushes and stuff. For berries! The idea, if not the actual execution, of berry picking sounded fun. Alas, when she eagerly went to collect what went to collect the bluish berries from the pungent tree, their taste was far from the beauty they possessed.

In fact, it was positively disgusting. Regardless Splashleap soldiered through, doing her very best not to pierce them with any of her teeth because yuck! She did not want to taste that again! Fortunately there were plenty of them on the singular plant she had been able to find, and within but a few moments she had four of them stored safely in her cheek, like a little chipmunk. They still tasted kind of weird, and made her nose itch, but she had them and that was what mattered. Wready foo go? she called to the others, mouth a bit encumbered by its berry burden.(+4 Juniper Berries)

Spiraltail observed from a distance as Splashleap wrestled with the blue berries. The sight was both amusing and a reminder of how different RiverClan's tasks were from what he was used to in WindClan. The taste of those berries was nothing short of dreadful, but Splashleap's determination was admirable.

"Looks like you’ve managed quite a haul there," Spiraltail said, his tone light. He stepped closer, his eyes scanning the area for any other useful finds. "I came across some blackberries over this way. They should be much sweeter and easier on the taste buds..maybe you can get the taste out that’s what I did."

He flicked his tail toward the bush where the blackberries had ripened. "Let’s finish up here and get back before it gets too late. We still have plenty of daylight left to gather more if needed." Spiraltail gave Splashleap a reassuring nod, ready to lend a paw or offer any help she might need as they continued their patrol. He looked over to the other cat and asked “Are ya ready to go?”

Foxleap flashed his team a toothy yet warm smile, positivity with winning this competition practically radiating from his pelt as he ventured out into the territory with Owltalon and Adderstrike. The young tom padded closely with his group, holding his muzzle low to the ground as he sniffed for the pungent flowers. He wasn't confident in his herb hunting abilities but it's striking color and interesting scent definitely helped. Approaching a patch of shrubbery, Foxleap began inspecting in and around it thoroughly before his ears pearked at the sound of Owltalon. He bounded towards her voice before approaching and taking a look at the flowers she had found.

"Three borage flowers... well done, Owltalon!" Foxleap praised, his bushy tail waving excitedly at the discovery before calling out to Adderstrike, "Adderstrike! Any luck?!"

Irisfrost

She would be looking for coltsfoot with Fadingstar and Larkwing. Two cats Irisfrost knew very well, although not personally. She studied the herb Berrypaw had dropped by her paws, committing it to memory. A short, low-growing yellow flower that grows mostly near tree roots. We need to make sure to grab the leaves. With a nod of understanding to Berrypaw, Irisfrost made her way over to her patrolmates. "Good morning," she said to them.

Whiskers twitching in amusement, Brokenstream gave the apprentice a friendly swish of his tail over her head. "No need to apologize, it's a good quality of a true warrior to be excited about helping their Clan." He said with a wink, turning to look at Deerspark. "Looks like we're all ready then." The Lionheart said cheerfully, turning to begin walking away. "There's a small stream around here, I'm pretty sure. Let's start there." With a flick of his tail, he padded into the undergrowth.

Eventually, he did come to a small stream that was surrounded by several trees. "Deerspark, I'm sure I don't need to tell you this, but Marigoldpaw, come here." Brokenstream beckoned the apprentice with his tail. "A good place to find moss is either on rocks near the stream bed or on the bark or roots of trees." He stated, hooking a claw into the soft green plant as he yanked a clump out from some tree roots. "But you have to be careful, try not to shred it with those sharp claws of yours." With that short lesson, he began to go to work on collecting more moss.

Caveclaw looked at Ravenpaw for a moment as they walked "I believe Sunsetgleam became busy with another task." She replied.

They soon came to the trees "Let's look for the flower that Berrypaw showed us." The stated "Poppy flowers. Stay close, though."

Ravenpaw flicked her tail in acknowledgement. "We can find the flower!" She meowed confidently. She nodded at Caveclaw's instructions to stay closeby. She had no intentions of running off. She put her nose to the ground, trying to recall what the flower looked like. After they padded on some way, she spotted a flowerbed. Ravenpaw halted, pointing with her tail at the flowerbed. "Are there any poppy flowers there?"
