Determined ⋆ Loyal ⋆ Lawful Good ⋆ She/Her ⋆ Killer Aptitude T3 “I can fix her!” Adderstrike was grooming herself and making sure her fur was nice and neat. She only ever made sure it was clean, but not styled in a tame manner... Ever. Before she could make any headway in making her fur not look like she was the wild chat she was, a shout rang out and Adderstrike felt dread. Meeting seemed to always bring that to her nowadays and she wasn't ready for this one either. Fearful Adderstrike listened to what Fadingstar was saying. Listening to his words and the sincerity in them made her feel a little at ease but she had all but lost faith in Fadingstar to be someone to be trusted. Respect either. Only someone to be fear for execution from saying the wrong words. Had he fully gone that far? No, but she wasn't going to put her life on the line to test his patience. She didn't want to become the example of how far his bloodthrist went. But despite all of that Adderstrike pushed herself forwards while her heart pounded in her throat, fearing she was facing the reaper despite what he said. "Fadingstar..." She stared before looking back to the others to see if they were going to speak up their grievances as well. Then she slowly looked back to her leader with her head held low and her tail curling underneath her. "I stopped trying to talk to you, basically I wanted to keep quiet to how I was feeling in fear that you would kill me just for saying the wrong words. Even now I'm a bit scared to admit to anything to you, but it made me question clan life if even in our own home we couldn't be safe and I couldn't say anything to you to change how you were acting. I could never bear to go to another clan so I would have gone off to the unknown myself." "Honestly, starting to feel like I was disillusion thinking I could do anything to change the path of this river." |

TINYTOAD The Dark Calico Rose To Her Short Paws When FadingStars Voice Rang Out. She Walked Over Sitting A Bit Away From FadingStar. The Callicos Spotted Muzzle Patted, Giving Her Word To Thd Leader. I Want You To Know, My Respect Is So Very High For You. But The Whole Voting Thing? That Wasnt A Very Good Idea. She Spoke Loudly, Keeping A Straight, Serious Face. I Hate To Bring It Up, But Retreating And Being Forced Into Land That Wasnt Ours? Where The Air Was Thin, Rivers Too Strong, And Prey We Dont Know How To Hunt As Well Was... Not The Best Choice You've Ever Made. Her Tail Flicked. She Felt Serious Guilt For Not Being There For Her Own Kids' Cerimonies. I Dont Give A Trout's Droppings About What You're Gonna Say To Me. You Asked Us To Speak Our Minds, And Ive Spoken. Tinytoad Flicked A Rounded Ear, Tail Swaying. She Respected And Would Fight For Her Leaders Til It Was Her Time To Be A Star. But Sometimes, Minds Had To Be Spoken. |

FLOWERHUNTER He/Him | Longhaired white and cream cat, blue eyes and belly scarring. Flowerhunter was lingering in the area. Sticking to his own activities such as bug hunting and resting around camp. Normally he was chipper! One of the happier cats in the clan, but recently it had been a struggle, alas…that was an issue for future Flower. The tom remains quiet as the Leader speaks words of improvement. Those very words were the ones Flowerhunter doubted. He sighs to himself, nodding slowly as the black and ginger cat finishes up his speech of sorts and calls for suggestions. |

— STAGHEART — very large, muscular, & scarred light brown tabby tom with stark blue eyes and a torn ear; killer aptitude 3 | just a scratch [ riverclan warrior | tomcat | 53 moons | gruff & battle-hardened, yet thoughtful; loyal to a fault ] — Stagheart arrived promptly for the meeting's call. He settled himself down towards the outskirts of it, his piercing blue eyes scanning the assembled cats. Fadingstar was seeming reasonable and approachable about the situation, apologizing where it was due and now offering comments. | BERRYPAW | small & nimble dark brown she-cat with darker flecks and light, leafy-green eyes | the collector [ riverclan mc apprentice | she-cat | 11 moons | timid, kind, hardworking ] — Oh... thoughts? Criticisms? Berrypaw didn't really have a lot of those about the situation... both Fadingstar and Dusklion had been really nice to her, making her feel welcomed and held afloat as she had entered this new realm of responsibility. Besides, even if she did have a strong opinion... the nimble, dark-brown feline would likely be way too intimidated to squeak out a word. And to be honest, a lot of this went over her head (in the innocent sort of way, not that she didn't understand what was going on). |

Re: RiverClan Open Forum [All cats welcome!]
Skeptical was the only term to describe Sedgeflake as Fadingstar spoke. It reminded him of that meeting - how convincing and charismatic their dear leader was, until one looked beneath the surface.
Given the past - the several threats - the actual deaths from words alone, and the favoritism they witnessed during the Dusk Trials, he was not about to bring attention to himself by speaking. Let the others cast their stones and see what befell them; only then would it determine where he set his. For his worry, something that no words could assuage, was those who spoke would end up in a pool of blood as shown before. |

Re: RiverClan Open Forum [All cats welcome!]
This was a bad idea. A trap was all Redmire could think of, a way to lure out those dissatisfied and willing to express it so that Fadingstar could do away with them in secret; maybe her specifically, given that fact she always seemed to be the loudest in speaking up about anything.
But for now? She skirted her way to a spot near Dusklion and kept her mouth shut. Nothing good would come of anything if she got herself killed. While she was actually silent for once, her expression and restless tail as she stared at him said everything she was thinking: resentment, distrust, and a healthy dose of apprehension. (For Red Mention) (OPEN FOR INTERACTION) He looked up to his leader as the powerful tom spoke. Their…opinions? What in the rats ass was happening here? He opened his mouth to speak but- he spotted RedMire. He was sure that the warrior would have plenty to say to him, despite if it was right or wrong…but she remained silent. He waited a few moments before closing his muzzle. That was probably the wisest choice. He didn’t want FadingStar to think he was completely against the tom and his leadership. He wasn’t. He could understand the potential confusion and having to please a whole clan, he simply didn’t agree with that Fades was doing about it. |

Dusklion - RiverClan Deputy |
Re: RiverClan Open Forum [All cats welcome!]
Waterlily Riverclan Elder | She/Her | 134 Moons Waterlily was..... well to be honest Waterlily was a single too hard sneeze from death. The elder was an adult when Twilightstar became a warrior, much less leader and had lived through far too many leaderships to even bother remembering a lot of her clanmates when their faces changed so much. Lives came and went, it was how it was and a miracle the old queen got so far and now? Well even she knew this was probably the last leafbare she'd see. That hardly meant she was just laying down and giving up however. Waterlily had wanted to spend her last years basking in the sun, rewarded for her hard life by pampering and instead had met HELL. Riverclan, the clan of plenty had been kicked around and torn apart because of poor leadership and the elders 'reward' had turned into another trial. And now, here was Fadingstar whining about being disliked for his own actions and making a blatant desperate bid to stay in power. If Fadingstar thought he could suck up to the clan and make hollow apologies that fixed nothing of what was done wrong in the past then not make real changes he had another thing coming. Snapping at a nearby Sedgeflake to help her up from her nest and be her crutch as she hobbled into the clearing (ears pinning furiously that she needed that at all, even if it was better then being carried) the elder watched for a few moment the cats who'd gathered to speak. A few already ripping into the leader but more disconcertingly more staying silent out of obvious fear what the reaction would be. Well they for sure wouldnt be after Waterlily said her peace, if Fadingstar dared to lash out against a elder he'd be facing consequences and its not like Waterlily had much to lose after all. If she died it was simply her time, either she'd prove them right in their worries or spark them to find their voice. Hopefully. "What is it Fadingstar, did the fact that no one here is happy finally break through your thick skull and enlighten you to reality!?" A bold start but it'd get worse, the topics all related to Fadingstars reign but meandering, perhaps a byproduct of Waterlily's advanced age and failing body. Well it certainly hadnt failed enough for this, and the elders voice was strong and clear and she ran through every one of her points. "Honestly all your actions have done over the last few moons of your reign is cast in to doubt your name! Not long ago you came to us with the declaration that you've been granted the name Fadingstar and yet said nothing on if you've been granted leader lives to go along with that! After all this time and all that's occurred I think it is time to be open and honest with us boy, because who are we to trust you when ever starclan doesnt seem to after moons of you leading us. Who granted leave to call yourself Fadingstar and do you have your leader lives at all? Id gather no given your cowardly actions to preserve your own skin in times of strife when a true leader would happily give their life for their clan!" Her old voice cackled and broke, scraggly under the weight of age and ire as the molly steadily grew more and more enraged by airing the thoughts that'd been building for some time now. Had she been able as she once was she'd even be pacing, getting in the fool toms face but alas as it was she was weakened even beyond the norm by the taxing nature of Riverclans exile to do so. "Ive noticed a rather sad trend with you, every time the going gets hard and our clan is forced to fight for their life it is not you saving the clan but rather you that needs to be saved. Excusable once but the trend is ongoing and shows you in poor light as a weak leader who fears for his death when leaders should fear least of all. First there's the rogue situation when you were a deputy. You went off, alone, and got nearly killed by two rogues! You're a trained warrior, even against two you should've been able to at least hold your own until your 'saviors' came! Or better yet, there was no one to protect then, why not retreat and come back with reinforcements?! Instead you nearly died and required rescue and herbs to be used on you that could've helped others, as well as a leave from duty that Dusklion, as always, took the burden of. Then there was our recent raid! You barely fought while others gave their all, I saw you little when you shouldve been the most active in fighting back! Then despite fighting fewer cats then a good few, a traitor apprentice scored a critical blow against you and blinded you, leaving Dusklion to ONCE AGAIN do your job! While you were lost stumbling around and being saved from a fox, someone else lead us to safety! And that isnt even the end! Our most recent strife shows the same! Dogs are hard to defeat sure but not with an entire clan and trained warriors! But once again you get critically wounded, drawing fighters from the central battle to defend you and ferry you home like a sleeping kitten while others finish the job! A leader doesnt need to defeat any foe but if ours gets taken down by every single enemy he comes across hes not a strong leader our young can look up to and other clans can respect but a liability!" If Fadingstar didnt have strength of will and mind (and inner clan relations getting to this point cast doubt on those attributes) he needed physical strength to gain any respect at all. But with so much evidence he lacked that.... what did he really have? What did Wormbite even teach him about fighting like a warrior was supposed to! "I can promise you Fadingstar, I have more thoughts to give but I, like many cats in the clan doubt your words and bond. We doubt you'll hear us out without responding with violence, scorn, and vengeance. We doubt you'll listen and not use this as an excuse to mark down your dissenters for quiet (or not) removal to maintain your rule. Above all we doubt you even care! After all this time of not listening or thinking about your clanmates even if you have changed all this rings of is a poor bid to stay in power and avoid the inevitable end hanging over your head! Perhaps you may have inspired a child to faith but I, with no fear of death at my age, want you to see how much you've fractured any of us with experience! Do you seriously think a single listening session and some platitudes will fix that!" Because Waterlily doubted anything Fadingstar could do would fix this. Cats were too afraid to even try with him, too wary and jaded so what could even be expected to come of this. Few could be honest with him anymore, and he was too blind to see a path to resolution, so the rot would remain, festering. @BEAR. (yoinked sedge for a moment)(Post tirade point 1/2 of 7) |

Re: RiverClan Open Forum [All cats welcome!]
With his grandmother giving her thoughts, and some other cats speaking up - Sedgeflake hesitated but decided to throw in his two cents. Worse came to worst, at least his granny could verbally decimate Fadingstar before they all died.
"... You've had at least two of our Clan-mates slaughtered for threats alone, yet when your favored--" His tail flicked toward Dusklion, and had Duskleaf been in sight he would've pointed him out too. "The Dusks, when they directly endangered our Clan you threw up half-assed votes. Execution wasn't on the table for them, despite their crimes being far greater. All it takes is WindClan deciding they want to finish the job - just on a whim! And they have our current location. A location we're STILL AT, despite all the rumors of moving!" A lash of his tail. "I'm not saying to kill either. I think Dusklion has done more than any of you to prove her worth to the Clan... countless times over. But your inconsistency is damning, Fadingstar. You talked about how you didn't want one cat to threaten RiverClan’s stability but all YOU'VE been is that cat. The Clan calls you out on only voting for your favorites - your sister and your friend? You ignored us, canceled the vote and made your own choice. Where was the vote on Fogmuzzle, Thunderchaser? How many cats do we not know that you took care of without us knowing...? How many of the missing are lost to us, but not you?" A confrontation, in a way. Sedgeflake's heart was dying in his chest. "You don't have trust because when it's given to you, you find ways to destroy it. I thought... I wanted desperately for you to be the leader to save us from this hellhole we've found ourselves, but for all your words your actions against the Clan have just made us feel like prisoners in our own home. I don't get you." [ @occultation ] |
Re: RiverClan Open Forum [All cats welcome!]
Several cats stayed silent, not that Redmire blamed them. More spoke out than she was expecting to. Her ears twitched as some old bag of bones launched into a verbal savaging of the tom. About damn time someone really got their claws into him!
With Waterlily's voice came another call for his resignation, and them Redmire watched Sedgeflake step forward. Anxiety twisted at her heart until she squashed it down. With how many were speaking up... Fadingstar couldn't so much as breathe wrong in any of their directions without someone taking notice, much less remove them from the equation. She gathered her words, set her jaw, and stepped up next to Sedgeflake. "You've been so ridiculously inconsistent. You're unstable. You're incapable of sticking by a single decision you make, unless it involves the choice to kill someone for words and not for actually doing something to put all of us in danger." Dusklion and Duskleaf had both made dangerous choices, and they were still alive. Thunderchaser and Fogmuzzle? Dead for things they never even had the chance to act on. "On top of it all, you're selfish. Whatever you are consisten on, it's only to benefit yourself. You say you care about RiverClan and that you want to stop anything from ever dragging us down again, but you're the one who's digging us a deeper hole, and not even with the other Clans - with ourselves!" For once, she was trying to reign herself in, but it was hard when everyone else had bolstered her confidence. "We can't speak or hardly even think without the threat of death hung over our heads. Every word out of our mouths could be our last because it triggered something in you, and we wouldn't even know it until it was too late. The cats you're supposed to protect are terrified of you. You asked for opinions? I think you're not a leader of RiverClan like you believe you are. You're a tyrant. What makes it worse is I don't even know if you know it, and if you don't, that's just far more terrifying." [ @occultation ] |

Determined ⋆ Loyal ⋆ Lawful Good ⋆ She/Her ⋆ Killer Aptitude T3 “I can fix her!” @Rani for adder trying to help water up Adderstrike felt uncomfortable with all the cries for Fadingstar to resign. It reminded her of all the actual rebellion attempts and made her wonder if that this clan just wanted any moment to boot anyone from power or if they really felt this was the way. Another part of her wondered if that this clan would even for a moment let someone prove that they could change. This was not showing it whatsoever. This was supposed to be an opportunity for Fadingstar to hear grievances and change paths for the better... Hell even Adderstrike had some ideas on how this could be done. Something to better the clan but... Fadingstar ran off and her heart hurt badly. Quickly Adderstrike whipped back and stared daggers into the hearts of those who asked for him to step down. "You all are quite the class act." Having that been said, Adderstrike walked over to the elder and tried helping her up despite her angry towards the cat. Sure she could disagree, but she wasn't going to leave an elder on the ground cause of it. |

His focus had originally been locked on Fadingstar, though eventually set on all of his frustrated clan mates who were finally given the chance to speak up. He agreed with majority of everyone else’s points and despite the serious situation, the Tom couldn’t help but feel the corners of his mouth quirk up slightly as a small burst of pride towards his brave clan mates sparked within him, causing him to pat down his tail briefly. Re: RiverClan Open Forum [All cats welcome!]
Willowtail stared in sheer shock and horror. Her leader had just been kicked out by Waterlily. "What if he doesn't come back" Willowtail fretted, eyes wide and in shock, she looked around swiftly for Dusklion, Daisypaw, Stagheart, someone to comfort her, to reassure her she would be fine. Spotting Stagheart Willowtail waddled over and looked up at him, "Stag.... is this really happening again?" Willowtail whispered, her whisper almost a whimper with the shock of the situation.
Daisypaw whom was already sitting next to Stagheart, leaned forward to rub her maw against Willowtail's shoulder, "Sit down." Daisypaw murmured gently, she didn't exactly have a feeling to what was happening, she was hyper aware she was to young to know the leader that well. As well as, without knowing it, Daisypaw now growing older was starting to sound like there mother, little by little. Willowtail had noticed this a few days ago, her heart panging in joy and greif as she listened to her sister and sat heavily. Sweetsap wrapped her tail around Seakit and brought Softpaw to her side. Summerbird looked at Willowtail, he'd made fun of her when she was an apprentice, she was half Windclan so why not? She was just a mutt with no place better to be. Seapawhttps://warriorcatsonline.com/forums...ictureid=56135
he/they - 7 moons - Go with the flow content: references to childhood trauma via RiverClan raid Seapaw crept round the back of the crowd. An open forum? What could this be about? Maybe the weird argument about Duskleaf? Would... The problem with Dusklion be mentioned again? It was hard, but they needed to know what happened, more than anything. Were the other clans brutes? Or did RiverClan... Did RiverClan start this whole affair? Why did he and his sister have to spend their kithood tucked away in the mountains, terrified of fox hearts on their tails? Why did their mother have to get lost in said mountains, left alone in uncharted territory? He was here for answers, and answers he would get. Tinytoad was here. Though nothing she said seemed new. Seapaw had never considered that the mountains were a bad idea - that there could have been elsewhere to hide. Maybe somewhere safer, somewhere with soft rivers, so he could have learnt to swim? Seapaw gazed at the ground beneath him, lamenting a little on the missed experience. No matter - they could swim now, right? That's what counted. Then Flowerhunter, was it? Spoke up. The tom was scarred, like he'd seen many a battle. It gave Seapaw faith in his opinion. Still, his opinion shocked them to their core. He thought... Fadingstar should step down? Fadingstar, the only leader he'd ever known. He'd always assumed his efforts were for good, he'd had faith in this leader. After all, a leader earns their rank, right? Dusklion was referenced as getting things done. That was nice to hear. After the last meeting, they'd begun to fear that... Maybe the clan hated this deputy. Maybe they blamed her for... Well, everything that's been happening, his whole life. He didn't know. The last he'd seen, was her running away. But, she was here today. Could they have faith in her? Could that clan have faith in her? Fishpaw spoke up. She was kind to him, but... Seapaw was beggining to realise, they were only apprentices. They'd missed something, or many things. There were things they didn't know about. Things that no one would tell that, at least not easily. Oh, and Rainpaw was here. It was a relief to see a friendly face about. But for this meeting... He had to focus. He couldn't get lsot in chatter or daydreams this time, as hard as it was. The cause for all these horrible events was very slowly being revealed to him... Then, Dusklion, the cat he needed to know about, spoke. 'he had no part in that outside of perhaps... not smoothin' over tensions when needed' Okay, so Fadingstar didn't do anything, per se. So, it remained, through no fault of their leader - well, no huge fault - they were kicked out. Their young were killed, cats were injured, Seapaw's own mother went missing. It was hard to stay attentive, to listen to all this. They really weren't used to it. Normally, during meetings, they'd catch the interesting bits, then just spend all of their time thinking about that, or daydreaming. They'd never had to listen to everything before, and it was a lot. Just when that seemed like all too much, Waterlily emerged from the elder's den. Surely, of all cats, hers was the opinion to trust? No... Leader lives? He wasn't even sure what that was! Leader were granted lives? Then... Fadingstar barely fought in the battle? But, he speaks of the other clans with such disdain. But, he wasn't even there to defend the clan? Well, Seapaw wouldn't want to fight if they were attacked now but... Seapaw didn't want to be leader. Seapaw never wanted to be leader. It was all bloodshed and diplomacy, and weird meetings where everyone got angry. And the dog fight... Seapaw hadn't seen that. He'd been sent home. But he trusted Waterlily's word more than anything. Had they ever spoke to each other? Nope. But she was old enough to see RiverClan through its past leader. She knew how things were meant to be. More cats continued to speak up, there were calls for Fadingstar to step down. Claims that Fadingstar had cats... Slaughtered? Over threats? That sounded like something the other clans would do, not RiverClan, right? Fadingstar had been speaking of the other clans as if they were brutes, but things were starting to come together and... Was he just the same? Dusklion kept her position over a worse crime. A worse crime? It kept coming up. But, these cats supported Dusklion? It didn't make any sense to him. Once again, Waterlily raised her voice. Stating that Dusklion made mistakes, yes, but she grew. It was a comfort to at least know that Dusklion made mistakes, that she wasn't... Evil. Then, it finally erupted into the last thing he'd expect. Leave. And Fadingstar... Fadingsun, was gone. Just like that. These cats had led the clan all his life. He thought... He thought they were meant to look after the clan. Had RiverClan caused the attack? After all this time, all this stirring, all this hatred, all this sadness, these missed opportunities, all this walking and walking and walking, never knowing where home was... After all this. It was as though his world were being torn apart. Lies, talking of other clans like such... He remembered Slugpaw... She was never a spy, was she? The other clans... They weren't actually brutes. But, Seapaw feared he would never trust them. Not properly, at least. The raid on RiverClan had left a permanent scar over his mind. He didn't remember the fight, no, but... Fighting scared him more than anything now, and it had to be because of that, right? This perfect view, this idea that RiverClan, his clan was inherently good, shattered at his paws. It had all been lies. Pretty poetry. |

Splashleap had arrived somewhat late to the party, just in time for Waterlily to send Fadingstar running. Not that he'd put up much of a fight, scuttling off into the forest with his tail between his legs. She figured Dusklion or a Lionheart or something would go after him soon, but that wasn't the important thing. What was important was Waterlily, and the seeming huddled shock that the clan had entered into. Who knew what was really going on, certainly not her. Mostly she was aware that Fadingstar was not the guy, not by a long shot. She'd thought he would be, at first, but he clearly was not up to it. So perhaps this was a good thing. Regardless, she wasn't about to listen to Grimpaw take out whatever loyalty he had to Fadingstar on an elder. An old, frail elder who Adderstrike had to assist to her feet. You can shut your maw, Grimpaw! she huffed, taking a few steps towards him. She didn't exactly have the height to make it intimidating, but she might as well give it a try. Waterlily is RIGHT, Fadingstar hasn't shown that he respects us, any of us, so why should we respect him? |
Re: RiverClan Open Forum [All cats welcome!]
[ sorry this is moving a bit fast! i'm wanting to get this event wrapped up so i can get riverclan moved to their new camp as soon as possible! once that occurs, the main clan threads can start being used instead of just the abandoned twoleg den one ^^ ] |

Strongstorm could feel his heart beating in his chest as he quietly gave Grimpaw a disappointed look and looked to Waterlily. He lightly gave her an apologetic look, before glaring at Grimpaw in annoyance. "I don't remember anyone asking for your input on the matter anyway, pipsqueak." He remarked, padding over.
(Pp perms for ya'll, as I can't be bothered. @Goopysharkboi and I are headed to the fair soon and my phone is on 40%, wanna save battery.) |
Re: RiverClan Open Forum [All cats welcome!]
Duskleaf 22 Moons | He/Him | Agatha Kitty RiverClan Warrior Maybe Duskleaf shouldn’t have still been sleeping in that tree after falling out of it and crashing into Wisteriawren, but he still didn’t feel safe sleeping in what was currently acting as the warriors' den. It was still too soon for that of course, there were probably still cats who wanted to rip his tongue out and he didn’t feel safe enough to sleep anywhere in range of them. Not now at least, no, that tree was fine. Descending from the tree he’d practically claimed as his own by now, Duskleaf approached as he heard Fadingstar calling cats to give their opinions on him? That was…unusual. Was this still a dream? Then an elder who was a contemporary of Duskleaf's oldest relatives he could remember approached Fadingstar and started lecturing him, and then…Fadingstar just left?! Duskleaf made his way into the gathering crowd of cats and sat beside Fishfreckle, wow, this dream was strangely realistic? "What in StarClan's name did I eat…?" He whispered loudly. Sure no real cats could actually hear him, he was asleep after all. "This is so weird…I’ve never had a dream like this before…" He looked around, not having a clue what was going on, was StarClan trying to tell him something? But why him? Right now, he seemed like the last cat StarClan would want to deliver a message to. Then Dusklion told every cat to do something…wait what? What in StarClan's name was going on?! @Dark |
