tips for artists ~
Hey guys!
I thought I'd do something nice and offer you free advice on your pieces of art. Just put down your drawings/designs (or send them to me through pms) and I'll suggest to you how to improve anything, from color to anatomy and composition. For those who don't know me, hi! I'm a semi-professional artist (boop) and I've been offering and receiving commissions for some years now. Here are some examples of my art! :soloballoon: EDIT: PLEASE SEND ME ONE PICTURE AT A TIME! I will reply to everyone in the order you posted! Please one picture only per week per user! |

1. The cats have so many similar colors 2. They are practically intertwined so it's not flowing visually perfectly. It would flow better if the 2nd cat on the right wasn't on the 1st cat's tail, if that's understandable? I also like the background, but maybe you could raise the variety of shapes of the clouds in the sky. They are made both of soft and hard edges, and it's a very important tool to recognize and learn. One last thing: the characters' borders color! Use colored borders inside the single characters, and use black to outline the whole shape so they are more recognizable from one another. The End! Good job overall :soloballoon: |

1. you did very well in choosing a black lineart for the wolf and no lineart for the background. it helps distinguish the planes very well! 2. try to do some simple sketching exercises to understand better canine anatomy. you can also observe the skull, so you can see how much fur there actually is in some areas vs others. 3. the values in the background are a little bit confusing. Let's organize the mountain range in 3 planes: foreground, midground, background. Following the atmospheric perspective effect, the planes sitting farther should be in a lighter tone. This means that the foreground should be darker than the midground, in this case. 4. be careful with perspective! The wolf is seen perfectly from one side, but the teeth are drawn as if from a 3/4 perspective. You should not be able to see all 4 canines Hope it helps!! |
