It was difficult for Cardinalpaw to not to yell at this cat. It was their fault. So he wouldn't be entirely wrong to do so. However, Cardinalpaw was feeling nice today. The apprentice looked down at Cedarpaw, his tail flicking. They huffed, rolling their dual-colored eyes and sat. "You alright?" He asked, inspecting the other apprentice.

Oh, how sad. Cardinalpaw wrapped his tail around his paws, heterochromatic eyes scanning the apprentice for injures or something because he did fall to the ground after all. They hummed, tail flicking as Cedarpaw stammered out words frantically. "I'm alright, doll, thanks." Cardinalpaw said cooly, their eyes flickering with amusement briefly.

Cardinalpaw watched with amusement as the fellow apprentice fell silent, simply looking up at Cardinalpaw. They tilted their head with a grin, keeping his eyes on Cedarpaw's face. "So, you're Cedarpaw, yes? 'M Cardinalpaw." He said in his smooth accent after a moment of silence. "Sorry for eh..knocking ya to the ground." They chuckled, a hint of awkwardness creeping it's way into their tone before shoving it away.

Ooh.. Cardinalpaw smiled at Cedarpaw, flicking his nicked ear. "I'm used to running into cats, dear, it's just, eh, became a habit to apologize. " Cardinalpaw purred, tail whisking. They gave Cedarpaw a curious look as he stammered out words. "And, I don't mind apologizing, doll. You're fine, honestly." The feline assured, their bi-colored eyes gleaming playfully as they gave Cedarpaw a quick once over.

Cardinalpaw returned the smile, though it was brighter and wider. They flicked their ears, trying to think of something to keep the conversation going. Training? Maybe, though Cardinalpaw didn't have much to say himself about the topic, besides a bad history of mentors. Well, he could just listen to Cedar speak instead. Cardinalpaw certainly wouldn't mind. "So..training? How's it going for you, Cedarpaw?" They asked, turning their gaze back to Cedarpaw from where it had wandered. "Having fun?" Cardinalpaw added, heterochromatic eyes meeting Cedar's.

Cardinalpaw hummed, his fluffy tail flicking. The tom shifted their paws, as the somewhat prissy angle of their legs was starting to hurt. They let out a small purr at Cedarpaw's words, amused by the similarities in their situations. "Really? Well. Damn, we seem pretty similar, don't we lo-" No no. This was a new(ish) cat. No 'love' or anything. Sigh. Ohhh but it was so hard not to call cats these silly little names. "-Cedar?" Yes. There we go, Cardinalpaw. Be a normal cat. He really wanted to be a warrior, truly. The training was partially his damn fault for not asking. Stupid on his part. Really, he could do better. Anyways! "A shame, though. Mentors need to do better, with all due respect to our warriors." Cardinalpaw sighed, giving his chest a few quick licks.

Cardinalpaw smiled. Really, some of it was the apprentices's fault, but some warriors just didn't care enough. Sad. "It should be." The tom murmured, tail flicking. "But, I would personally be honored to have you as an apprentice if I was a warrior." Cardinalpaw joked, grinning at Cedar with bright eyes.

Cardinalpaw let out a small chuckle, streching his legs forward, paws kneading against the earth before he layed down, tucking his paws underneath himself. "Of course, doll." The tom meowed, grinning at Cedarpaw. "Any warrior would be lucky 'ta have you as an apprentice. At least I think so." Cardinalpaw said, trying to think of a way to keep the conversation going. He did enjoy talking to Cedarpaw, he seemed like a nice fellow. The tom thought, and thought. And nothing. Sigh. He could only hold a conversation for so long. Hopefully Cedarpaw would bring something interesting up.

Oh. Cardinalpaw's expression faltered, trying to think of how to respond. He did have a sibling yeah. But-..eh. She was gone. The tom returned his friendly expression, tail flicking. "Ehh..yeah. Yeah, I- I do. But, she's uh, gone. Either dead or a kittypet. I dunno. Miss her." Cardinalpaw sighed, tail flicking. "But, ah, 's life. Can't do much, eh?" This wasn't the way he expected this conversation to go. Though, he wasn't opposed. Not like he was particularly sad about it anymore. It was life. Cats died and friends leave. But. Hopefully Cedarpaw might stay for a while. "But anyways. Do you? Besides, Starlingpaw, I mean. Just you two or is there a secret 3rd one of you I don't know about?" The tom asked with a grin, tone teasing. Yes yes. Good. Steer this away from you, Cardinalpaw.

Cardinalpaw nodded at Cedarpaw's response. Right. Just Starling. They flicked their tail. Adoptive siblings? "Who're they? Your, uh, adoptive siblings?" Cardinalpaw asked, tilting his head, his tall ears flopping to side slightly and blue and brown eyes curious. The tom searched his mind for cats who could be siblings to Cedar. Windclan, probably? Wow, that's so helpful Cardinalpaw. Almost like it's your clan. They listened as Cedarpaw then went onto his uncle's kits. Uncle? Okay. What cats had kits recently? Oh, who was he kidding. He didn't know half the clan's names anyways.

Cardinalkit? Aw, hopefully this one didn't accuse him of stealing a name. The tom whiskers twitching in amusement. "Oh, that's nice." They purred, tail flicking. "How old are they?" They asked, casting the nursery a curious glance before refocusing their gaze on Cedarpaw.

Rabbitleap? Now he knew him. He was Sunnypurr's friend. Though they had kits. So eh. "Oo! I know em! Sunnypurr is the litters dad. He's like a..I dunno. Some familial figure..ish? He was close wit' my mom when they were younger." The tom explained, their mismatched eyes bright as he looked at Cedar.

Cardinalpaw's grin softened and faded, his warm eyes rounding with worry. Oh. Crap. The tom stood to his paws, taking a step closer to the fellow apprentice with a soft expression. Those kits ages didn't matter all that much to him if Cedar got this stressed. "Hey. Cedar. You're okay, darling. Don't worry." The tom said, eyes searching Cedarpaw's face. They needed to work on that with him. The apprentice really couldn't remember anything. He was proud of Cedar for remembering names, honestly. "I couldn't care if you didn't even remember my name, honestly. Ages aren't a big deal, doll. Just try to calm down, please?" He asked hopefully, his warm bi-colored eyes looking at Cedarpaw with worry.

Oh. Cardinalpaw blinked, his ears twitching at the tone in Cedarpaw's voice. It was different. Not in a bad way. Just odd. The tom brushed off the thoughts, smiling at Cedarpaw as he sat back on his haunches. He was still off. Cedar. But whatever. They were just glad they could help the tom. Cardinalpaw tilted his head at him, bi-colored eyes sharp as he searched for something wrong but soft with concern. "I'm glad I could help dear, but are you alright?" Cardinalpaw asked. Why not bring up the problem? It wouldn't be some life-changing answer, surely.

See! Not life changing. Cardinalpaw nodded, raking his eyes over Cedarpaw. Ok. That happened. Remember that. Could he do anything to prevent these freak-outs? Nah, probably not. But he could help Cedarpaw! And that was what was better, personally. Cardinalpaw shifted his paws, and sent a grin at Cedarpaw. "As long as your okay." The tom smiled, tail flicking.

Back on training, but it was directed at him this time. Cardinalpaw shrugged. "'S going alright. Finally have a decent mentor. I think I'm pretty close to becomin' a warrior." Cardinalpaw responded. At least, he hoped. The training was going okay, battle was doing good. Hunting was easy, that he had down for a while. The apprentice hummed, tapping their tail against the ground when a thought crossed their mind. A grin pulled across his face, his bi-colored eyes lighting up. "Oo! Cedar, what if we become warriors together?" The tom exclaimed suddenly, his tail fur bushing up in excitement. "How far are you into the training?"

Cardinalpaw grinned. Perfect! They could become warriors together. The apprentice nodded. "What lesson do you need?" They asked. They could bother Sunnypurr about doing it for him. Or he could do it with him, depending on what it was. Assessments were most likely the hardest part about training. But he'd do fine. Probably. Most likely. Yeah nah he'd be fine.

Cardinalpaw nodded thoughtfully, his tail flicking though lets be honest he wasn't exactly thinking about anything ok ok ok. Uhhh. Cardinalpaw didn't reallyy know how close he was? But it was pretty good, he knew that. Cardinalpaw would be a bit salty if Cedarpaw became a warrior before him, but the tom had such pretty blue eyes, it was hard to be mad. Wait, what? Anyways. He flicked his fluffy tail, flexing his claws in and out of the dirt, a grin on his face. Great! He could harass Sunnypurr if he wanted to. The apprentice nodded importantly. About what? Cedarpaw, of course! Who knows. "Perfect! You'll do great for whatever you are gonna do for it, doll!" They purred, tilting their head with a soft grin. Really! Cedarpaw was great. He was talented and nice and more.
