Warriors movie discussion
they've been putting it off it feels like it....And right now. I just came across an IMBD cast for warrior cats 2023 and now that I think about it...it does look fake. So do you think they will? I honestly hope so, and I think it'll look best in CGI . If the animators actually do it right.. And I didn't know where else to put this thread...it's not exactly warriors book talk....but kinda?...So I put this here. Ideal voice actors Firepaw/heart= tom Holland Bluestar = Scarlett Johansson ( possibly ) Tigerstar= idris Elba ( I mean..c'mon have you heard him play sheer Kahn?) Graypaw= Jacob batalon ( Spidermans friends actor ) Lionheart = Chris Hemsworth Sandpaw = Zendaya Ravenpaw = ...undecided . What are your thoughts?? |

Re: Warriors movie discussion
Unfortunately that IMDB page looks like a hypothetical fancast and not a reliable source but it would be cool to see a Warriors movie sometime in the future.

Re: Warriors movie discussion
Oh yeah, I got to agree with @shortstack here that that IMDB page looks hypothetical and not real.
Personally, I'm not really a fan of CGI talking animals (Lion King CGI and the Jungle Book for example come to mind) and I personally think animation would look better for Warriors. @SilentLamb |
Re: Warriors movie discussion
There's a YouTube video that does a good job of explaining why Warriors could never really make it as a movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrRJmTkhZ_8
To paraphrase the contents, an animated Warriors movie created for a western audience- who is used to animation being used primarily for family movies- wouldn't succeed in the box office unless it fundamentally changed what Warriors is in order to obtain a PG rating (unfortunately, animated movies that take risks in terms of mature content have historically done far worse than studios that play things safe). There are also so many characters and so much content that a huge portion of it would need to be cut or rewritten in order to fit a movie (and it is explained in the video why this is inevitable, despite the large pool of content to choose from). As a movie, Warriors as we know it would be hardly recognizable in any form that a movie studio would be willing to adapt it into. |
Re: Warriors movie discussion
Xenofiction movies tend to alienate their small target audience and aren't as inviting as movies with more traditional characters. Combine that with Warrior's preteen-teen maturity level and you won't have a large audience.
If they reduce the maturity level so that younger kids might watch it, a lot of content and tone would be lost. But Watership Down was passable so maybe I'm wrong. |
