A conglomeration of sirens could be heard in the distance of the vast city-streets, their headlights streaking past the alleyway walls as they streamed one after the other down the boulevard pathway. Just how many there were exactly, Amethyst wished she knew.

Legs working in a desperate sprint, the black-haired girl - she looked to be of about fifteen - rounded the corner-exits of a small market-store, pant-like gasps rasping from within her pharynx as her eyes stretched wide till the point of nearly reflecting the full white moon that floated leisurely above in the sky.

Oh, damn, here they came.

A tall, thin officer hurtled down the sidewalk toward where Amethyst had stashed herself, a flashlight clutched in his hands as he raked the moonlit area. Forcefully steadying her gasps for breath, Amethyst flexed her claws - which were about as sharp and long as an eagle's - into the centers of her palms.

Eventually, almost inevitably, the man, too, entered the gloomy alleyway, eyes stretching wide with what Amethyst guessed was the realization that he had actually tracked her down. Although his pride didn't last long, as in the blink of a cat's eye Amethyst had rushed forward and bombarded her physique into the officer, dagger-like talons catching the faint glow of effulgence as she raked them effortlessly down the man's face. Then, eyes glittering with the luminescence of sheer hatred, she used her free hand to rip her claws into his throat, a scowl spreading across her lips as the weakling's hot red blood spattered her face.

Done. Simple as that.

Amethyst straigtened upward, blood-drenched claws retracting back into their sheathes as she studied the girl from head to toe, head cocking from side to side every now and again as she took each and every one of her details... Hm, it appeared she was a dog-hybrid. Interesting.

"I know," Amethyst replied levelly, leg thrusting backward to kick away the officer's gored carcass. "But you see, the thing is I couldn't care less. If you hadn't already witnessed what just went down a few seconds ago, I ripped out that stupid man's throat. And I'll continue to do so until every single one of them is dead and gone."

Amethyst flicked her thick, spotted tail dismissively. "And I suppose you have a better idea?" she growled, bloodied claws protracting from their sheathes as the fifteen-year-old began to rip carelessly at them with her fangs, which were not unlike those of a clouded leopard's.

"Two questions," the younger girl growled lowly. "One, who are you? Two, why the hell did you interfere with my business, hm?"
