So I have this idea for twin cats... A male and a female and they do everything together. And I mean everything. They eat together, sleep next to each other, go hunting together, yadda yadda.

One day the two of them are out and about exploring and hunting and they come across a cat from another clan. The cat accidentally wanders a paw too close to the territory of the twins' clan (RiverClan) and they tussle.

Tom twin gets carried away and accidentally murders the trespasser. His sister is completely dumbfounded and doesn't know what to do and so they act like nothing happened and the brother washes the blood from his coat in a creek/river/whatever. They hang back a bit before heading to camp so that he can dry off. (I chose RiverClan for the twins because it wouldn't be as suspicious for RiverClan cats to be wet.)

In the event that they get found out (which they will) the sister takes the blame for her brother because she loves him so much and doesn't want to see him get punished. She knows her brother can lose control and take things to far. She doesn't want to see him go down for something deemed an accident. The punishment will be up to the discretion of the leader of the twins' clan.

There will have to be a cat who happens to see them wandering the forest near the time of the victim's death and finds it suspicious and reports it to their clan leader.

OR - if nobody wants to sacrifice a character for the plot - instead of the victim cat dying it could be a blind cat and they end up surviving the attack but are gravely wounded and a particular cat (detective) from blind cat's clan is determined to get to the bottom of the attack.

That's what I've got figured out so far and we can determine what will happen next based off the punishment chosen for the sister.

I will be making the sister today and the twins will be Warriors.
I would prefer the detective be a warrior but it's not too big of a deal if they aren't.
