How am I supposed to prove myself...?
 

The scent of mouse caught Pigeonpaw's nose. She lowered herself into a crouch, keeping in mind everything Cougarivy had taught her about hunting. She followed the scent silently. She carefully rounded a bramble but she stopped, straightening a bit. Her eyes found the mouse but it was scrawny and it's brown Fur was dull and unkempt and it's little wedged nose was shiny with moisture. Breathing in, she picked up an undertone of sourness surrounding the bedraggled creature. She grimaced and sat back, scooping a rock up with her paw and tossing in the direction of the mouse. The rock bounced off the ground harmlessly to the side of the mouse but it sent the mouse scurrying - closer resembling lumbering - off out of sight. She sighed her disappointment but nothing about that creature was either appetizing or fun game, even in her perpetually hungry, leafebare state.

Pigeonpaw stood and padded out away from where she'd been stalking the mouse. The forest was dark and shadowy and suddenly she realized she didn't remember waking up after laying down in her nest back in the apprentice's den. Then she must be...! Pigeonpaw smiled and started padding through the forest more confidently, keeping her senses out for other cats rather than prey.

( @Toodle sorry, I have very long school hours and haven’t had a chance to respond to anything, I completely forgot about this! )

Brokenfrost smiled to herself as she found a scent she recognised. “Pigeonpaw, how may I help you today?” She purred, slipping out from behind a tree trunk. “It’s good to see you dreaming yourself back here on your own, I almost considered getting you the other day. But I have faith in you, and you proved that I am right to!” She added, sitting down in front of her apprentice and licking a white paw.

“So, you must ant something or be struggling if you’ve managed to get here on to own. Is there anything that you need help with? Training?” she asked in such a sincere voice she really sounded like an actual mentor who just wanted to help her apprentice. The best thing was that Pigeonpaw believed it! “I’m afraid that there isn’t much decent prey around here, if you’re looking for hunting advice you,” she added, staring at the rock and the fading scent of prey escaping.

Pigeonpaw flipped around at the sound of a familiar voice. She smiled, puffing her chest proudly as she took in Brokenfrost, excited that she still found her worth training. "I guess I've come for more training! I want to be the strongest! And i want to prove to you that I deserve this special training. I've been working really hard!" She'd originally wanted to prove to Batsong and Dawnstar that she was worth warriorhood and to know the truth of her past, and she thought this extra nighttime training would help her get there. She still wanted those things most of all, but she now found she wanted to prove herself to Brokenfrost as well, show Starclan that she was worth the extra effort. She couldn't wait to take everything she learned back to Cougarivy! "What do we get ti wirk on today?"
