Wolfpaw's father - Ezekiel - had killed a cat that Wolfpaw had just met, and Wolfpaw is scared that the cat will hurt everyone he knows. He doesn't want to get too close to someone, because he's afraid that he's the cause of the cat's death.

So he pushes everyone away. Starting with his mentor, Frostmoon, he doesn't seek the cat out anymore and he begins to only do what the warrior tells him to do. He needs some bullies, too. And some cats he can grow close to that he's not afraid of!
