[F]The Nymph and the Dryad
O, Stranger, have you ever been To Fairyland, where things unseen Unfold before your very eyes - A mystery, a paradise Among the quiet moors and flowers - Behold the realm of magic powers. You answer: "I have never seen Such mysteries, except for dreams, Where truth goes hand in hand with lies - The mind wakes up before it dies." Well, you may not believe a word, Although the story must be told: This legend, beautiful like snow, Was born a thousand years ago. Two creatures quaint: one thrives at night, Her match is day's eternal bride. One lives below the river deep, The other drinks the nectar sweet From every flower on her way. Now, tell me, have you seen them? - "Nay." The spirits carried by the breeze Remain, while their bodies cease To roam along the earthly path, Just when the mortal beings pass By their Queendom made of glass - Still imperceptible to us. Nevertheless, their song I've heard: In voices, lovelier than birds, These maidens sing it to the trees And to the ocean's cold abyss. Sometimes, when you can't sleep at night, A single ray, obscure, yet bright, Leaves on your lips a gentle kiss - The Nymph awakes amid the mist, And, as the river hums nearby, Sings you a tender lullaby. When, in the morning, with a spark A crocus opens, or a lark Bathes its feathers in the dew - The Dryad whispers rhymes to you. These creatures seem alike, and yet, The languid faeries never met. It would have been a daunting task: One wakes at dawn; her mate - at dusk. One weaves long dresses from wild ferns; Her rival hunts the depths for pearls. Yet, once upon a summer's eve, The Dryad felt an urge to leave Her mellow forest, bittersweet - And ventured out into the deep… She wandered by the riverside To drown her sorrows in the tide: "I am alone in this vile world, My only friends are beasts and birds; They pass away - unknown, unsung, While I am destined to stay young! The soul - once hurt - forever mourns - My woeful heart is pierced by thorns! The solitude, which I adored, Brings sorrow now - and nothing more…" The sombre waters lured her in, As if the dark, beguiling stream Has whispered softly in her ear: "Come here, you're not alone, my dear!" The Dryad hid a heavy stone Beneath her dress - "All will be gone!" She uttered, overwhelmed with grief: "May Thanatos bring me relief!" The sun was sinking in the waves; At last, she felt a warm embrace… Embosomed by an ocean whiff, Appeared her saviour - the Nymph. She caught the Dryad in her arms Succumbing to unearthly charms Of this fair creature bound to earth; Is it a blessing or a curse - The meeting of the Sea and Land? "Come slowly, dear, hold my hand…" The water fairy murmured so, "And I will take you back to shore!" The Dryad smiled, "Now I know Whose voice, soft as the moonlight glow, I heard while drifting off to sleep! This tender music made me weep - It seemed to come out of the blue…" "You dreamt of me?" - "I thought of you." The Nymph has rescued her and sighed: "If only Day could marry Night!" At once, the universe eclipsed - The Dryad kissed her crimson lips. They've been together ever since, Although if you are not convinced - Look up into the sky at noon: There dwells a shadow of the moon Concealed behind a wispy cloud - The water Nymph became, no doubt, Inseparable from the sun; She blossoms when the day is done, And in the waltzing stars above The Dryad writes her songs of love. -The Nymph and The Dryad, Veronika Sizova About: Orchidbriar is far from oblivious to The Nymph's existence. She has noticed her from afar, treating her with the caution one might use for a wild beast. But she is far from a beast, graceful and elegant, she fills The dryad's chest with what she views an envy of sorts. Unbeknownst to her it's not quite envy, but rather a crush. The Nymph is a beautiful cat, no more than Five moons in either direction of Twenty moons. Feminine aligned, it is of no concern of her birth sex. Being a night owl, it is reasonable that she would take on her favourite task while the stars shine, swimming past sunset whenever she can. Plot: Starlings have always been Orchidbriar's favourite, viewing them as a kindred spirit of sorts. So she has befriended the flock most commonly found on Thunderclan's territory. Eventually they have grown to tolerate her, realizing she is no threat. She spends hours watching them interact with one another. Until one night the Dryad stumbles upon the multitude of the flock, laying cold on the ground, the rest having all fled. This shatters her, and tearfully she runs. Her plight brings her to Sunkissed Creek, where she lays sobbing by the waters edge. All until she sees The Nymph In the Water, coming towards her. She comforts Orchidbriar, and many sweet words are spoken. It doesn't take long before the dryad is falling for her, falling hard and fast. Over the next few days their bond grows deep, spending hours talking about their lives, compliments being whispered wherever they can. In less than a week they have taken eachother as mates. More Info: As mentioned above there are a few requirements. Though the majority of this post is written with She/Her pronouns, the Nymph can be any gender except for Male. Must be Between 15-25 moons, closer to 20 the better. I also plan on Orchidbriar having kits in the future, and would prefer if your character would be on board. For this plot I'm looking for posts at least 200+ words, and a rp partner who's going to be active, and willing to communicate. You can get a better feel for Orchid's character in these threads: 1. 2. I'll leave this open until November 1st unless someone submits an amazing application that blows everyone else out of the park :heartbounce: Form: W/ Link: Name/Link: Gender/Pronouns: Preexisting knowledge/Thoughts on Orchid: Post Example: Questions: Other: Mention: @Erebus W/out Link: Name: Gender/Pronouns: Personality: Appearance: Preexisting knowledge/Thoughts on Orchid: Post example: Questions: Other: Mention: @Erebus Please consider applying, I'll love you forever :heartbounce: |

Re: [F]The Nymph and the Dryad
Name: Blizzardfeather Gender/Pronouns: Born male, transgender to female, but sometimes uses he/him pronouns. Has not yet come out. Personality: Blizzard, as the middle kit, is very cold. Despite being the middle kit, he is still the largest. He is competitive/combative, and unfriendly(most of the tim). During training, his favorite subject was fighting, meaning this is what he is most skilled in. He's very closed up, but he is excited to receive his first apprentice. He'd rather work alone than in a team, and he is extremely loyal. When she finally comes out to the Clan, she'll be embarrassed. She may be loyal, but she is combative and sometimes hostile. She is easily guilt-tripped, though, and would like to confess to someone about what she's going through, and she can be kind and friendly and caring when she needs to. Appearance: Blizzard is a light grey and snow white mackerel tabby cat with blue eyes. Her eyes are more of a blue-green color. If you get up close to them, you can see that she has small black flecks across her cheeks, under her eyes. She has long fur on the tips of her ear that are the same light grey as her tabby stripes. Preexisting knowledge/Thoughts on Orchid: She adores Orchid, and would love to be like her - even if just for a short time. She can be sweet when she needs to be, and she's going through some really tough things as of the moment being, and she is trying not to have a mental breakdown because of her problems. Post example: I post in many different ways, it matters on how I feel and how my partner will post, and I also don't always mention the cat's name. Questions: Nope. Other: She is actually only 14 moons, but will soon be 15 moons old. Mention: @Erebus |
