Charlie was bored. As per usual. And they were annoyed. As per usual. They sat in the woods that bordered the city they lived in, scowling at the ground. This year, three of their friends found out they were a witch. That also meant three of their friends stopped being their friend. They threw a twig at the ground angrily, and crossed their arms. Why did this always happen to them? They had no friends, their family hated them, even their girlfriend walked out on them! Charlie stood up, shoving their hands in the single pocket of their hoodie. Could this day get any worse...?

Charlie yelped, falling backward in surprise when they heard a voice among the shadows. They leaped up to see who had startled them, and ran their fingers through their blue and green hair to get it out of their yellow eyes. It was a pale lady with dark hair. Kinda creepy, in Charlie's opinion. "Uh, yeah... I'm fine..." They said, still staring at the woman.

Charlie took a step back. "I'm sure." They said, using a more straightforward tone this time.

Charlie frowned, yellow eyes scanning the woman. "Prove it." They said blankly. They weren't one to show their true emotions around strangers. But yes, the woman was right; they were very afraid.
