There stood the unsmiling statue, white snow lightly falling on its cold grey stone. You gaze at it, bewildered as oddly, you feel warm despite the weather. You couldn't help but get the feeling that the statue was the one keeping you warm.

As a final ornate flake of snow fell upon the frozen figure, its paw twitched. Before your eyes, slowly, the statue you'd been gazing upon gained colour. A pale white fur, akin to the white of snowdrops, silver swirls and colourful eyes - little russet dots of varying shades.

The statue, or figure more accurately, lowered itself to the ground. It doesn't seem to have noticed you as it - she - walks across the frozen land with calculated steps, icy blue and green eyes seemingly fixated on something you couldn't see.

Her expression is distant, and yet, the weather seemed to warm around her, scarce snowdrops and primroses growing in her wake. Slowly, her head turns to face you. She wasn't looking at you, still you felt observed.

"You."

Her soft voice echoed in the void, carried by a gentle breeze.

"What is it?"

Always sweet and gentle looking, walking with calculated steps and speaking no louder than necessary, one would never expect her to act out. Her demeanour is calm, if a bit distant, and her movements so careful... You would expect her to be fragile, as though she could break at the lightest touch.

But she never did live up to others' expectations - she surpassed them.

Snowdrop has never appreciated anyone looking down on her, she has never wanted to be considered any less or to be treated as though the wind could break her. She did not have any patience for that kind of treatment, which in part may stem from her education that all are equal in capabilities. Yet her stature tends to gain her pity and coddling treatment; and although as a child she may not mind the coddling too much, anything older than that she will not stand for - and make it known, should she feel the need to. After all, she steadily believes she can take care of herself.

Born with a tongue quite sharp, there are only a few who escape her snappy remarks and somewhat sarcastic comments, those 'few' usually extending to her parents only. Out of pure respect for them, she knows when to keep her mouth shut. This especially shows when something gets on her nerves, that's when the sarcastic jokes truly get exchanged for snappy remarks, with sadly no return until she's calmed down. Some may even call her a little hot-headed, but who are they to judge?

She very much values her rest; one way to get a disgruntled Snowdrop is by waking her for the sake of waking her - she is not the biggest of morning cats. Rest heals, and staying up for too long only makes her more tired and unhappy. Even so, the little flake never was able to turn down a challenge or say no to playing a game with her siblings. She's a sore loser, and reminding her that she has technically lost if she refuses to play is a sure way to get her up and moving. It may be quite amusing to her siblings. And even as she grows and tries to suppress these childish emotions of being unable to take a loss, those efforts don't always succeed.

Despite her more rambunctious personality as a kitten, she is quick to calm down as she matures, partly due to an incident in her childhood. This particular incident has a rather negative effect on her; it makes her feel insecure and weak, two feelings Snowdrop thoroughly dislikes and struggles to deal with, even in adulthood. She grows far quieter, closing herself off to even her family, becoming hesitant to try anything at all, believing she'll be doomed to fail either way.

Luckily, this doesn't last: her environment is a positive one, healthy. She is taught that disability isn't everything, that it shouldn't hold her back - and this lesson she will always hold dear to her heart, and defend. Although she remains quieter than before the incident, it doesn't stop her resolve from growing: she realises that she too would like to help those around her the way her parents helped her, the way she's always watched them do. She is uncertain if anyone believes her capable of this, even so, she doesn't give up. She pushes forth against all odds at all times to reach what she desires, refusing to give up even if her thoughts can take a pessimistic turn. Some may even call her tough.

And as she grows increasingly comfortable with those around her, those sarcastic remarks come popping back up more and more, all in good humour - and none will ever escape her snapped comments, be it a stranger or a friend, if you've done something dumb, you've done something dumb. And as time passes, she hopes and learns to have her parents' confidence, something she's always admired about them.

And beneath all these snarky comments, insecurities and confidence, lies a heart gentle as can be. Despite how she may act or speak, she has a caring nature, always willing to help however she can. Be it running errands, lending and ear or paw, healing someone or even attempting to give a short Snowdrop-pep-talk, she'd do anything to keep those around her safe and sound. No matter what, even if she doesn't always act like it, their safety and well-being are important to her and is something she will always take seriously.

By now you've come to know her as a sarcastic and snappish cat, one who doesn't enjoy being messed with or looked down on, and yet still struggles with her own inner demons. Caring towards her friends and especially her family, and a sore loser too, she is known for taking her duties seriously and doing whatever she can to not give up. But she is also a dreamer. Someone who, late at night, closes her eyes and listens - listens to the stars twinkle and the snowfall, listens to the creatures in the woods and the quiet chatter of late nights. She closes her eyes and dreams of a safe place where no one needs to be hurt - a magical world, where anything is possible.

Her secret little world.


Her personality is bound to evolve and differ as she comes to life, but this is the basic idea!!

"Just always be with me."

Some say you can control your dreams, but what if you can share one? At a young age, one fateful night, feeling left out, she began to dream. And within that dream wished for one thing and one thing only - a friend. As she opens her eyes, bewilderment takes the place of this wish, as right there before her eyes she sees someone she had never seen before. A fellow cat, a potential friend. Perhaps a bit hesitant and awkward at first, she soon bonds with the fellow feline, someone who she affectionately believes to have been an imaginary friend in adulthood, occasionally mentioning him in passing. But was it? Or was it a true cat with whom she shared those moments? Dotted with a gift, Snowdrop may receive the Dreamwalker Purrk, allowing her to pull one other cat into her dreams - this fated ‘imaginary friend’.

 

"I see the world, but not the way you do."

She was fairly young when it happened, likely no more than four moons old when she suddenly and permanently lost her sight. Was it sickness, or an incident? A bright flash of light, perhaps? Regardless of the cause, Snowdrop loses the valuable asset of sight. Her whole world suddenly changed, she will have to learn how to deal with losing her sight. Coping with this fact won’t be easy at first, struggling with her blindness for some time even if she’s long accepted nothing will change it. Truth is, she will sometimes feel insecure about her disability, doubting her abilities, especially as a child. But nothing ever defeated this feline, and blindness certainly won’t take her down either as she learns like any other.

 

"I admire you. I admire the work you do. Let me be like you."

Snowdrop has always admired Nathaniel and his work and her mother’s confidence. Even as a little kit, she aspired to be just like them growing up - confident, able to help those around her. And eventually, this turns into something she'd like to make her life; as she grows, adapting to her new way of life with the aid of Rhiannon and Nathaniel, she realises that’s what she wants to do too: to heal, to help. She devotes herself to learning what she can. Quick to make mistakes but equally fast in fixing them (or trying to, at least), she wishes to someday take over his practice and continue walking in his paw steps. Whether that be with her siblings by her side or not, Snowdrop is determined to do what she can to help around the clinic and someday, hopefully, be considered worthy enough to take over.

 

"Perhaps in another life, my love."

She never concerned herself with the clans, she never truly cared for them after learning of the danger some of them posed. But that all changed when she met him. A clumsy feline who more often than not needed the treating of some wound or injury, and who she begrudgingly always treated, probably chastising him for his constant injuries. And yet, there's something sweet about him. Sharing knowledge and time - perhaps in secret - a friendship turns into a bond and that bond grows stronger only. But as fate had it, they couldn’t remain together. Their paths never quite aligned, always pulling one away from the other. Fleeting visits and briefly shared moments, but never to truly be together. Not until the end of their lives or beyond.

 

"No matter what you say I can do."

No matter what, she wants to prove herself capable of taking over after Nathaniel with or without her siblings by her side. But in the meantime, she resolves to help him as much as she can - him, and the clans. It would be no surprise if she offered to run errands. With or without instructions, she more and more often finds herself walking the outskirts, seeking anyone in need of help and, if possible, aiding a kind-hearted clan cat, perhaps even willing to pull a feline into a shared dream to teach them essentials (at the cost of having to sit through her sharp remarks and swear to silence) - all that under the alias of ‘Primrose’, a feeble attempt at keeping her identity hidden. Although previously unconcerned with matters of clans, these attempts to help them stem from one thing only: a certain love among the clans. One who taught that they aren’t all that bad, and whom she secretly hopes to meet when running these errands.

The rest of the pages are blank... But you get the feeling they won't remain that way for long.

❅ Snowdrop loves tactile things and overly descriptive stories, as they paint the world of her dreams for her!

❅ Similarly, she loves doing things with her paws. Whether it be pushing around some debris or full-on working on something, if it involves her doing something with her paws, she'll likely enjoy it!

❅ Snowdrop knows her comments can be offensive, and as such, tends to take on a milder personality around children - given they behave. This same patience is likely rarely given to those of a ruder nature.

❅ Snowdrops symbolise new beginnings, hope, rebirth and the ability to overcome challenges, and are sometimes considered to have a connotation of purity and innocence. This ties in nicely with Rhiannon who - among other things - is a goddess of rebirth.

❅ Give her flowers. She'll act like she doesn't care for them... But they'll be by her bed until they wilt and beyond. But don't tell anyone that. If she cares for you, at least (this also means she likes nice smelling things).

❅ Testing how effective dried-out herbs are: trying to preserve those flowers - I mean test subjects - for as long as possible would be an interesting way to discover dried plants, and eventually see if some keep their healing properties at all. And she gets to keep the pretty flowers even longer as a bonus.

❅ She loves soft things. They're just so comfortable!! But doesn't always enjoy being surrounded by the same sensation everywhere. For that reason, she likes to have different textures line her nest, so she can more easily find her way around.

❅ One love, but endlessly loyal to her family and work. One or the other, and she is unable to leave her home behind.

❅ May develop a fear of large fires - small ones in the fireplace are fine, but anything bigger than that is not. The sound is not comforting either.

❅ She likes the sound of silence, just nothing. Because whenever she closes her eyes with no other sound around, she feels like she can hear the snowfall and stars twinkle - and she likes that. She also enjoys the soft sound of others going about their day, it's a sign of life. That's her little secret, though.

❅ I like to think that she dreams in colour, at least early into her blindness, where she may still be fully sighted in her dreams too. However, as she grows, she may choose to be sightless in her dreams as well, specifically if she were to share a dream with someone as she doesn't want to feel nostalgic for her sight or know who they are - visually, at least.

❅ Because she likes tactile things, she's often found fumbling with something between her paws, especially if she's thinking about something or is distracted. She claims it helps her relax.

❅ She's got a rather refined palate, which also makes her far more critical towards what she eats. If it smells weird, she'll likely pass.

❅ Don't scream when you're standing next to her - she generally doesn't appreciate that. She also doesn't appreciate areas where different sounds get muddled or are hard to define, as it may confuse her and it usually just gets on her nerves.

❅ She would likely play an instrument such as the piano or violin if she were a human. As such, she's got a small appreciation for either sound, given they're not too loud.

❅ She tends to walk just a bit slower than the average cat, being generally careful of where she walks.

"Is there more you seek?"

She blinks slowly, face turned away as the soft question leaves her maw. Her tail lashes, a slight sign of impatience as silence follows. Eventually, a rough wind begins to blow, picking up snow off the ground as it dances all around.

"Look. Maybe you will find."

Always the ever-curious mind, Fox will display a thirst for knowledge from a very young age. She will be curious about all sorts of things and ask lots of questions - everything from how the stars glow at night to how certain plants work to (when she becomes older) why certain cats do certain things (ties into a plot). It will often conflict with her being polite as her need to know everything she can has the ability to have her poking her nose into places it doesn't belong. Fox will have no filter when it comes to these questions either - though as she grows she will learn that this isn't the best way to go about things.

Emotions will be something that's almost overwhelming for Fox in the first couple moons when she starts to discover what they are. They will knock her off her paws, especially when she discovers she can practically feel the pain of others. Because of this she feels very connected very fast to those she meets - happy when they're happy, sad when they're sad. She'll always want to do whatever she can to right wrongs and make others happy - sometimes at the expense of herself.

Fox has a way of doing things and a way she likes things that is often viewed as organized and specific. From how she likes the way her nest is to favorite prey to specific kinds of rainfall (not overbearing but also not just a measly drizzle). She will develop habits that become part of her everyday life - sweeping around her father's den to keep it clean, making sure everything is in it's place, counting how many paw steps the distance between certain things is. If any of these get disrupted Fox will tend to get irritated and is quick to snap.

Driven to succeed and compete with her siblings, Fox will not hesitate to pull them into a race or a game of moss-ball - and will most certainly do what she can to win. At the core of this is the desire to make her parents proud, but Fox truly thrives off of having others to challenge and being challenged herself. She will grow to adore the feeling of adrenaline and will likely hunt down the next instance of it all of her life.

Likely learned from her father she will not be afraid to dig her paws in on certain things and will become an immovable object. Fox will cling to things or places or cats or ideals with her claws fastened within them and refuse to let go or change her mind. If she is forced to let go of them or be removed get ready for the kit-fit of your life - politeness be damned. This will be core trait of who she is and will follow her throughout her life.

Because of her tendency to be stubborn and stick her nose into places it doesn't belong, Fox will come off as rather rude and arrogant at times, though she'll try her best to keep it under control. This will lessen as she grows up and learns how her actions and words affect others, but will land her in hot water as she is growing up.

A plot idea I had is that because of her inquisitive mind and thirst for knowledge, she'll want to know all about the Clans and her dad's past in them. She will essentially become super-glued to her father and always strive to make him proud of her. Because of this, she would be the cat that Nathanial has his sights set on to take over his healing business one day. Fox finds this boring and wants to do more with her life, but keeps quiet and does what her dad asks of her because she doesn't want to upset him.

When she's old enough to go exploring on her own she runs into a cat from RiverClan. They swap stories for a bit and Fox learns additional information about the Clans from them on top of what Nathanial has already taught her. She goes back amazed and with one dream in mind; to be a warrior. Unbeknownst to her dad and the rest of the family, Fox continues meeting with this Clan cat and grows close to them, and they eventually start to teach her more advanced training than what her dad has taught her.

One day upon leaving to go meet with this Clan cat Fox will discover that they are on a border patrol battle fending off a couple of rogues. In a split decision Fox will leap in to help - only to get badly injured and almost put her friend's life in danger. The friend tries to convince Fox to come back to camp with them, that they can heal her, but she insists that her dad can take care of it. In her mind she'll have frozen though, because while joining a Clan has been something of a dream of hers, she'll feel torn between them and her family.

Returning home, she'll run into her dad who will have been out looking for her. He'll take her back and get her healed up, and eventually after poking and prodding Fox will reveal the details of the fight - and how she's been secretly meeting a Clan cat for the past couple moons (can be edited depending on how things play out!). She'll then confess to her dad that she dreams of being a warrior and doesn't want to take over his den in what will likely be a dramatic moment in their dynamic!
