BlazeClan was founded by a group of cats fleeing a growing tyrannical force as well as environmental factors. They found a small sanctuary in a valley tucked away from twolegs and those who would seek them harm.

At the top of the mountain, guided by a spiritual cat named Dawn, they found a mystical grove, lush and peaceful. This was shown to be a sacred place, where they could contact their ancestors during the full moon. Their ancestors further guided them to unify under a cat named Blaze, who became Blazespirit, with the newly named Dawnheart as their healer.

Many seasons have passed since then, but their stories have been passed down through the generations.

Developed and refined over BlazeClan's many seasons, the Kinsfolk's Conviction is taught to and followed by every member from birth, and consists of the following principles:

• The Clan is as kin, and kin comes first.
• Prey goes first to those who cannot hunt for themselves.
• Kits may be apprenticed at 6 moons of age, and no sooner. The leader may postpone their apprenticeship for any reason they deem worthwhile.
• The deputy is next in line to succeed the leader, should they step down or be killed.
• The leader's will is your conviction.

BlazeClan is located somewhere non-specific based on northern Mexico, so things like territory, prey, predators, and names will reflect that. The territory they live and hunt in is primarily desert, while the mountain where Spirits' Grove lies is primarily pine-oak. They experience only two seasons — wet and dry — which are further explained below.

Plants and animals, both prey and predator, are in line with what you would find in the northern Chihuahuan Desert. Common plants include cacti, desert lillies, yuccas, and bear grass. Common prey includes lizards, geckos, ravens and sparrows, but they mainly hunt praire dogs. Common predators include coyotes, rattlesnakes and golden eagles. Another threat is large/venemous spiders, such as tarantulas and wolf spiders.

As previously stated, BlazeClan experiences a wet season and a dry season.

Rainbloom — The wet season, which is referred to as rainbloom and occurs from May to October, exhibits higher temperatures and excessive rainfall, especially late season.

Drysky — The dry season, which is referred to as drysky and occurs from November to April, exhibits cooler temperatures and dry air. They don't really get snow, except very briefly in the mountains.

The BlazeClan camp is in an odd crater or bowl, with rough, steep edges guarded at the tops by thorny grasses and bushes. In the center is a distinct spring that somehow remains at the exact same level despite storms or droughts. There is a flat slab of stone that reaches toward the center of the pool, and rises to form somewhat of a podium. This, the Sunspire, is where the leader addresses the clan from during meetings.

Leader's Den — A dug-out den across from the Sunspire, flanked by two yuccas. It is kept cool by being underground, as well as the nearby spring.

Healer's Den — A jumble of large stones with a surprising amount of space on the inside. The rocks are swarmed by kudzu, especially on the outside and in the cracks, but only serves to shield vulnerable cats from the elements, as the kudzu never seems to spread any further than the rocks.

Warriors Den — Burrowed beneath a cluster of palms and shielded by grasses and yuccas, the warrior's den is rather more spacious than it first seems.

Apprentice's Den — A thick juniper bush, dug out underneath and reinforced with bear grass and thorns.

Nursery — A sheltered hollow tucked away from the rest of the camp. It's beneath a slight overhang and sheltered by sveral cactuses and yuccas, as well as reinforced with other plants.

Elder's Den — A safe bush, dug out and reinforced.

BlazeClan believes that their ancestors are watching over them, but they do not view them as a higher power. Rather, whatever higher powers reign over the afterlife are known very little of and aren't known to interact directly with living cats, though omens and other phenomenons sometimes occur.

At the top of the mountains lies a lish, sprawling grove that is always healthy and teeming with life. It has a mystical aura about it that discourages any kind of destructive behavior, including hunting, and as BlazeClan recognizes the place as sacred, no one lives there. This is the place where BlazeClan is able to contact their ancestors.

Every full moon, BlazeClan's leader and healer are able to share dreams with their ancestors in SpiritClan. They share news and ask for advice, specifically from their kin, as BlazeClan views kin as being of utmost importance.

During the shift from rainbloom to drysky (the end of October and the beginning of November) is the time the connection to SpiritClan is strongest. All of BlazeClan makes the trip to the mountain's peak. As they have to contend for kits, queens, and elders, this trip usually takes a full day instead of the single night it takes on the full moon.

That evening, the clan arrives to find the grove blooming bright with marigolds and shining with a warm light from something other than the last rays of sun. They are able to meet with their long dead kin by calling out their names as if to beckon them home. With their memories, the spirits are able to cross into the living world just for the night, although they are unable to touch or be touched.

BlazeClan sleeps in the grove, surrounded by their loved ones, and return home the following morning, often much more somber than when they came.

When a cat of BlazeClan dies, their body is laid to rest in Spirits' Grove. It is brought there by their kin, who hold a ritual through the night and do not speak or return home until first light the next morning.

Their soul is sent to the realm of spirits to reside in SpiritClan. Their pelt is adorned with something that represents who they were as a warrior, or healer. The cats of SpiritClan glow with an orange light. Their souls are maintained by the memories held by those who knew them in life — the more they are remembered, the brighter their glow, and they will fade away just as the memories do.

Their interactions with the living are rather limited, and only the most remembered are capable of them outside of the Day of Spirits, or the full moon, which is limited to the kin of leader and healer.

In addition to standard clan medicine practices, BlazeClan uses:
Barberry for fever, infection and digestive issues
Yucca for arthritis
Sage for wounds, arthritis, and asthma
Agave for infection, burns, topical pain relief, wounds, and toothache
and Beargrass for bleeding and sore eyes
...among other things.

The leader of BlazeClan takes on the prefix "-spirit" and is gifted nine lives by the closest nine of their deceased kin, the only exception being if they do not have enough, in which case a well-remembered spirit will step in.

Though it is not necessarily a rule, the leader's successor is usually one of their kin. This trend is only broken when the deputy appointed at the time of death was appointed without being considered a candidate for successor, such as if the leader was very young and healthy or had several lives left, only to lose them to something unforseen.

Kit to Apprentice
• Have existed for two weeks real time
• Have at least 5 posts
• Have not recently been punished by a high rank

Apprentice to Warrior
• Have existed as an apprentice for one month real time
• Have at least 20 posts as an apprentice
• Have at least two instances of any kind of training or life experience accompanied by a warrior, including but not limited to: hunting, fighting, patrols, or any other
• Have at least one post attending a clan meeting, which can be their own apprentice ceremony

Kit to Healer Apprentice
Healer apprentices will be chosen at the discretion of the current healer. They have the same requirements as regular apprentices, and though they may earn their full healer name at any time their mentor deems they are capable, they will remain an apprentice until their mentor retires or dies.
