When Spiraltail went missing for two moons, he’d met a loner, and had a kit with them. But when he came back to WindClan and found out that Vinepaw had become a tunneler, he started sneaking out to the outskirts to try to find that kit(the kit is going to be [vinepaw sib] from now on :3) as a replacement. After a while, he does, and [vinepaw sib] - now apprentice age - is absolutely thrilled that they have a half-brother. [Vinepaw sib]’s mother had done the same thing as Spiraltail had, and left the kit as soon as Spiraltail disappeared.
But [vinepaw sib] didn’t approve of replacing Vinepaw, and tried to convince Spiraltail to re-own the tunneler apprentice. [Vinepaw sib] hasn’t had any brothers or sisters, due to them being the only kit Spiraltail and the Loner had, and they immediately started to imagine all the sibling things Vinepaw and them could do. So when Spiraltail sees the idea of replacing Vinepaw and thus most likely putting him to shame starting to fail, he retreats back to WindClan.
The loner kit follows him, eager to see where he was going.
They found themself stumbling across the loner joining, and then they joined WindClan. The apprentice-aged kit gets a Clan-cat name, and eagerly starts looking for they're half sibling, quickly finding Vinepaw.
Aaannndd the love interest he’s been trying to spend all his time with right next to him.
[Vinepaw sib] doesn’t think much of it, but soon, they realize they aren’t even getting noticed by Vinepaw. They think this is because of [crush], but it's most likely just Vinepaw being anxious, or he thought it was weird that [Vinepaw sib] is obsessing over them being siblings so much.
[Vinepaw sib] doesn’t really have any grasp on the warrior code or, you know, rules yet. So they see nothing wrong as he catnaps [crush], and stows them away, somewhere they can’t (or haven’t found a way to) escape, but he can still keep them alive. After a week of them being missing, almost everyone has presumed them dead, including Vinepaw.
[Vinepaw sib] is now ready to finally, finally get as much affection as he’d been hoping for.
But he finds a grieving, sad and heartbroken Vinepaw that wants nothing to do with them instead.
[Vinepaw sib] is confused. Why was Vinepaw so isolated all the sudden?
But, then [crush 2] enters the picture. They like Vinepaw, and for a while it's unrequited, but that changes very quickly. [Crush 2] is absolutely furious that Vinepaw's first love interest was killed, and finds it rather suspicious that nobody knew anything about what happened.
So [Crush 2] sets out to find who did this to Vinepaw, and take them in to be either executed or exiled.
[Crush 2] eventually stumbles across [Vinepaw sib] feeding [crush 1], tangled in briars and brambles, a skinny mouse.
Both [Vinepaw sib], [Crush 2], and [Crush 1] are shocked at first. But then [crush 2] starts furiously babbling at [Vinepaw sib].

[Crush 1] returns, and Vinepaw is torn between [Crush 2], who dove into trying to solve who murdered his first crush without hesitation, or [Crush 1], who he’d loved so much at first.
