Aspenpaw fluffed up his fur against the biting cold, or atleast it felt freezing to him. Could it possibly get colder?? He would hate to imagine it, it was only leaf fall. Leaf are was yet to come and apparently those moons would be colder than this. Was his winter coat growing in yet? If not it better pick up its pace before he dies of frostbite and joins starclan early!

The sun had long since dipped below the horizon and the stars shone bright overhead. He could retreat to the warmth of the apprentice den but he found himself clanmate watching. He'd usually go to sleep early while some of his clanmates preferred to stay up and bask in moonlight. He didn't see the appeal. The moon provided no warmth like the sun did, it was dark, cold and more importantly he could here crickets. Crickets were bugs, he hated insects.

Ember eyes caught on movement causing him to look away from his paws. Goldfish, Marigoldpaws mentor, was moving to the center of the clearing. That wasn't smart, it was bound to be colder there. She then announced, using the commanding voice most lionhearts used, that she would telling a scary story. PFT please, scary stories were for kits. Aspenpaws wrapped his tail tightly around his paws and went back to staring at the ground.

Ok this was boring. Rising to his paws he walked over to where goldfish sat, lowering himself into a loaf like sit and curled his tail around his paws. He'd rather just listen to the story then sit by himself or go to sleep. Besides maybe he could witness some kits get scared. That sure be funny. He knew he wouldn't be scared, after all they were just stories made up to frighten others and he wasn't scared of anything. Not even insects that just...were disgusting. Yeah.

Scary stories? Now that was quite an interestin' idea. Reminded her of when ma used to gather her kittens around tell 'em those old ghost stories when they didn't want to go to sleep. Those would always completely spook Peachspring and her siblings into going straight to sleep. Oh those good old days. She thought wistfully.

So Peachspring took a seat, looking excited about the idea of a spooky story. Especially if it was told by the pretty Lionheart.
