Glancing up towards the sky, the brown molly couldn’t help but take in the twinkling night sky with wide, turquoise orbs that seemed more perplexed in the moment if anything. They never really raced at night before, and to the warrior it seemed like they were missing out on a whole new opportunity. A breath of awe escaped subconsciously through her lungs, and pausing, the feline allowed herself to soak up the goodness of the nocturne sky on the dirt trail to their marker.

But that’s not why they were out here, and Rabbitrunner wasn’t going to allow herself to get called out by Swiftfire for being any sorts of slow-- not tonight, at least. Picking herself up again, she briskly trotted to meet back up with her clanmate, and flashed a small smile as she glanced down at the makeshift rabbit. It really seemed to have taken a beating from the weather as the seasons had passed, and fondly, the she-cat dawned on how they both made the rabbit after many, many divots in the soil proved to be a hassle to manage.

“May the fastest she-cat win.” Respectfully, the WindClan warrior dipped her head to her racing rival, passing to get behind the gorse rabbit as they did a time ago, hunched down and ready to spring once they were both ready.

"Being fast, and being smart are two very similar things." Swiftfire growled playfully. She lined herself up alongside Rabbitrunner, crouching with her eyes locked straight ahead.

"May she indeed," Swiftfire murmured back. It had been a while since she had felt this spark, this want to win. Rabbit had beaten her a few times. Swift had won some too. But they had always been rather neck and neck. Never too far behind the other. She was determined to break the streak.

And if she lost? She'd only have more fire added to her will to be swifter than her rival. "On your one." Swiftfire glanced at the brown she-cat, then back ahead of her. "Three....two..." Every muscle tensed, every fiber and hair on her pelt bristled. She was ready for this.
