Hmm, ok, this was far from ideal. While he had managed to get a nice cut going on the toms leg he didn't seem to be reacting at ALL! What kind of pain tolerance did this cat HAVE? Did he spend all day fighting or something? Well, he had reacted. Just not in the desired way, instead shoving his tail further into the ground(and stabbing several little holes in it!). This was definitely unfortunate, as his tug came to not, only succeeding in giving his rump another sharp yank. And, of course, the other cat was now going on the offensive. It was perfectly expected, but that didn't make it at all welcome. AT ALL!
While something about the tom seemed a bit sluggish(probably the size), Shrewstep was willing to bet the force of his strikes was nothing to mess with. So when the teeth snapped towards him he moved, nope, he didn't have NEARLY enough mass to be taking hits willy nilly. Unfortunately he couldn't move very far, straining backwards as far as he could(OUCH!) and when that didn't carry him far enough, swinging his paws a bit wildly in an attempt to batter the head away. Although knowing this tom.......he'd just keep going.
