Not a big thing, but I could see Dawnwhisper meeting Sweetkit and just adoring this little one, causing Dawnwhisper to want to check on Sweetkit a good amount and get to know Sweetkit.

I think she would fit friend..but whatever you see best fits.
Plot Idea:

 

Reedpaw is a very loud cat, while unaggressive, she isn’t afraid to voice her opinions. Maybe at some point Sweetkit would say something she enjoys, Reedpaw voices her opinion, which could sound negative, and causes Sweetkit to get upset, who Reedpaw apologizes immediately.
I could also see Reedpaw being protective of Sweetkit.
