Thistlerose smiled back. It was nice to speak with her other Clanmates, though she knew they didn’t have much time before the meeting started.
She reached out and gave Acornpatch a pawshake.
“Yup, I’m Thistlerose. It’s good to hear you’re doing well, Acornpatch,” she said, only to turn her eyes seconds later up to the Thunderwillow. Thistlerose could feel a purr trying to rumble up in her throat. They were about to get new apprentices!
“This is so exciting,” she murmured.
As Aspenstar spoke the names of the kits, Thistlerose craned her neck to see if she could spot them. She spotted Rosekit first, and—oh. Oh no. Something fell out of the sky and plummeted right in front of Rosekit. Her fur bristled momentarily, wondering if this was some sort of sign from StarClan, but she quickly shoved the thought down, glanced quickly at Acornpatch, then padded over to the kit.
“It’s alright, Rosekit,” she said, trying to soothe the kit. She pushed the snake out of the way and pressed against the kit to try to reassure her.
“Come on, I’ll walk with you up to the Thunderwillow.”
