Ah yes, the kits. As Kestrelstar let out a small puff of air, he contemplated new life coming into the Clan. Leaf-fall was settled in, and soon enough leaf-bare would be nipping at it's heels. This would be his first as RiverClan's leader, and something about it seemed foreboding almost. A shadow he couldn't quite squint far enough into to see the light on the other side.
"I'm certain that wherever Riverpad is, he would want what's best for you and your kits," the leader finally responded after a moment, tipping his head to the side just a bit. "If you need any help when the time comes, Daisybird was just made a forever queen and will be staying in the nursery permanently to help with any kits that may come."

Petuniapaw limped into the leader's den. Sure she should have gone to the medicine cat, but she needed to come here first. Her leg wasn't that injured. It was a scratch that wasn't at all deep. Plus from the last time she had been in the medicine den she had been able to clean it and apply cobwebs the day she got it.
Petuniapaw looked around, spotting the tom. She would have moved further in, but her leg couldn't take anymore. "Your back! It's really good that you are here. You don't know how long I was looking for you.", she meowed. She padded forward but winced at the pain of her leg. She tried to hide the fact that it hurt. She didn't want to seem weak not when she wanted to prove to him how great of a warrior she would be.

Shifting around in his nest, Kestrelstar's ears popped up at the sudden voice at the entrance. It was one he had been expecting - Blizzardsky's kit couldn't be missing for too long before the white-furred warrior tore apart the entire territory until he found her. Now that she was back, and safe, the leader felt a bit of relief. That was one less cat missing.
"Petuniapaw," the leader answered, giving her a nod as yellow eyes went to her leg. Snakeheart should've checked that first, and a crease of worry came over his face. "Yes, I've been back for about half a moon now. I saw the present you left me in my den, and wanted to say... thank you." The gray tabby didn't know why that had been so hard, why his throat felt constricted saying it. Nonetheless, he nodded at her leg. "You should have Snakeheart look you over - we don't want that to get infected with leaf-bare only moons away."

Having slipped back inside after a rather busy day out in the territory, Kestrelstar was ready to lay down on the dusty den floor and finally take a bite out of the trout he had been carrying. The scent made his mouth water, and as the leader dropped the prey at his paws and settled down, he swiped his tongue over his maw in anticipation.
Mid-way through opening his jaws, a voice sounded at the entrance of the den, and his ears went back. Who needed him now? "Come in," he called, crossing his paws over the other as he waited for the apprentice to come inside.
