Beastkit awoke with a disgruntled yawn. He had awoken to the sound of someone whistling, loudly, the noise echoing through his ears. Blinking open bleary eyes, the brown tom sat up sleepily and snorted, sounding like a wheezing snake as the nose thrummed through his nose. He sneezed and sighed. He hadn't slept well, tossing and turning, thoughts running through his head, yet not sticking long enough for him to decipher them. It was frustrating. And now he had been awoken by some idiot with some tune in their head.

Beastkit yawned again before casting his sky-blue gaze around the nursery. Midnightkit was still sleeping, as expected, and Ashmama seemed to be waking up besides him. It was strange, the other kits in the nursery weren't making any noise, the few in the den either sleeping, or playing silently. It wasn't so much of the unnerving quietness, more of the fact that none of them were whistling to their hearts content. It sounded like wind, the more that he thought about it, but wind wasn't that loud. Was it?

Ashmama stood up and began a slow amble towards the opening. His gaze followed her, blinking sleep from his eyes while still attempting to focus. Her jaw flapped sideways and his mother nearly fell to the side, carried away from the wind. As she turned back, telling them to stay inside, he nodded and tucked his head under his tail, fading off to sleep. The gentle whistling shrilled behind him, but he was too tired to think about it.

Beastkit had strange dreams. He heard Ashmama say something about it being a big day, but that didn't sound like what she would usually say. Afterwards, he saw a giant acorn that spoke in Lionkits voice, meowing that she didn't 'wanna go outside anymore. ' He murmured something about staying put as well, before rolling over and being enveloped in blackness. More voices travelled through his brain as he drifted through the layers of sleep. He could have sworn he heard Midnightkit say she wasn't always sleeping, but that sounded so much like a lie, that he accepted it as a memory immediately.

He rolled over and his eyes open long enough to absorb the images of Lionkit's and Midnightkit's lilac and black pelts. "I'm not waking up yet," Beast groaned. His eyes fluttered shut again, but he couldn't fall back into the twisted spin on sleep he had been experiencing. He jumped as someone yowled about it being windy outside, but stayed with his eyes shut tight. Lionkit wasn't up yet, so why should he. THe same voice added that they should also become an apprentice and he bolted upright, eyes open once more. They were becoming apprentices? That was the special event?

He nearly bumped his head into Leechkit, who was leaning over him. "No, no, no! Don't keep me as a baby! I'll be all alone. Anyways, I'm big now, see!" He fluffed out his fur and hissed, which he thought sounded rather fierce. By the time he had finished spitting and bouncing around showing off, Leechkit had left. Beastkit took a flying leap outside and was immediately swept to the side before getting abruptly dropped. No wonder the YowlCat had been so loud! He could barely hear himself think over the wind, and that was saying something.

He scrambled around in the dust, emerging with newly dirtied brown fur. "I'm so excited! We'll be apprentices now! Like HappyCat and Tawnypaw!" He meowed and turned around. Didn't that make him 6 months old? He could barely remember that happening. Did cats normally keep track? He padded up to Leechkit and plopped down next to him, the fur on his head sticking up in a fluffed tuft. "Are you as excited as I am?" His voice was nearly lost over the wind. But this was Beastkit talking, anything he said was naturally loud. He had spotted where his sisters were and started to walk to the perfect place in between the three of his siblings when he stopped in his tracks.

Beastkit blinked as his brother called over Firekit. Why was he calling over another kit to sit next to him? Beastkit usually sat there! He frowned and snorted, annoyed. Was Leechkit trying to replace him? Was he not good enough? Beastkit refrained from throwing himself at the grey toms paws and begging for forgiveness. He wasn't sure waht he did wrong, but there was something. WIth Leechkit, there was always something. HIs fur was too messy, he was acting like a baby, he called Peachcat the wrong name. And so on. Fine, if Leechkit didn't want to sit with him, he wouldn't sit with Leechkit.

"Hey you!" Beastkit turned back towards the kit who had been yowling earlier. He was quite a bit bigger than them, but that was to be expected. Beastkit was bigger than the average kit. Big for even the average apprentice-aged kit. All of Twilightstar's kits were large, except for Lionkit, who was more on the chubbier side of large. "The weather sure is crazy! Do you wanna come to sit with me?" He made sure to yell loud enough for Leechkit to hear. After all, it would show Leechkit that him being a meanie didn't bother him!

It definitely didn't bother him.
