Re: ThunderClan Leader's Den

Aspenstar's eyes softened with sympathy for the apprentice. Poor Aspenpaw, he seemed to be having a pretty rough time. She had had a similar experience during her own apprenticeship, but her appetite had certainly not been affected. Worry creased her face, and she gestured for the young tom to sit down beside her. That was quite the list of issues.
"I'm sorry you have to go through all of this, Aspenpaw." She said at last, frowning. How would this situation be resolved? She thought for a moment. "It must be hard to have a father who's not around, and one who isn't a good role-model. But there are other cat's you can look up to, that you can mold yourself after." She wasn't a medicine cat, but she was sure that the sleeping issue could be resolved. Not easily, but over time.
"Why do you think you're having this trouble sleeping? Nightmares? Stress?"
For the last one, she wasn't sure how she could help. Should she ask a bunch of apprentices to just be his friend? No, that was embarrassing and the "help" would not be appreciated. "Just... erm... find a good crowd to run with. Your sister... maybe you can help out some of the newer apprentices.... I mean, you can always just hang out with me, but I'm not the coolest cat ever, and quite busy most of the time.... but it could be a possible backup plan. Just thinking out loud, of course."

Stars above, these two were quite the duo. Aspenstar listened silently to both side, paying more attention to Goldeneyes's side, because as much as she wanted to give Cloverkit the benefit of the doubt, she also knew that the most valid and correct story would come from the senior warrior, not the rebellious kit. Nodding as the speaking concluded, she smiled at both of them.
"Well, than you both for bringing this to my attention." She glanced at Goldeneyes, mostly thanking her, but including Cloverkit, if only to save her ears from the kit's intolerable whining that would probably ensue. "I appreciate it."
As Cloverkit back away, ready to skedaddle, she placed a paw down firmly. "No, Cloverkit. You broke the rules, and you endangered yourself. You will have to be punished. That's how it goes. You feel as if you are old enough to stray from camp, so you are also mature enough to do the elder's ticks for a moon. With NO complaining." She couldn't suppress the sparkle of amusement in her eyes. Never a dull moment with Cloverkit. Luckily, there was Goldeneyes to keep the kit safe, but it wasn't the senior warrior's job to watch the kit, hopefully they would learn some discipline during their tick-duty.
Of course, Aspenstar was fully aware this wasn't the worst punishment, the elders liked to tell stories, but they were technically a first time offender, so she would go easy on them.

"Alrightie, then. If that's all..." Was there something else the queen wanted to add? Aspenstar gestured towards the den exit, not wanting to be impolite... but still, there were other things for her to do, and if she just mindlessly conversed with everyone who wanted to talk to her, then where would she be? Not being very productive... but that wouldn't matter if the conversation was meaningful.

The pawsteps made it clear to Aspenstar that she was going to have a visitor, so she had a few seconds to prepare. Then, one of her senior warriors, Geckoleap, entered the den, and she smiled. "Morning, Geckoleap. How can I help you?" She wondered what the warrior could possibly want. Hmmm...

She hadn't expected a visit from her cousin today. It was, nonetheless, very welcome, as the mouse was dropped at her paws, she smiled. "Oh, Lionsmoke. You, of all cats, know that the way to my heart is food." It was meant as a joke... a joke, but not really a joke, because her words were true. Her love language was food, and it was ridiculous to think that.
"Oh, you know, of course it is." Aspenstar chuckled, trying not to expose the mouthful of food she had in her mouth while her jaws parted to speak. "You've been here, you tell me. The Clan will be dramatic for as long as it exists."

My, my. The cats in this Clan, always needing something. She chuckled at her own thoughts. It was... sad that she had to rely on her crappy sense of humor to bring her joy, and she shook her head slightly. Looking up as Oakfur entered, she nodded to him. "Of course, Oakfur. What is it that you need?"
