Thoughts: she can’t have kits herself sadly, she had an old NPCmate in the past and once he learned this he left her for another. It tore her apart but she didn’t let it bother her much, whenever a Tom takes interest in her she explains that friend or not incase it happen’s again

Gingercry is nearly twice her age... I may be open for it though, at least a semi-serious to serious fling. It kind of fits with my idea of his kids being not so forthright in approving of the relationship. It's a little more interesting since Leafstep and Gingercry's daughter Goldenstep had somewhat hit it off as friends.
