He wouldn't crack. Not this time. Sitting there as Floodfrost berated him, Kestrelstar remained unmoving. They were words he'd heard a thousand times before, and finally, had come to accept. He was tired of trying to get RiverClan to take notice of all the good he had done since he had been back - expand their territory, not retaliate against ShadowClan on the brink of leaf-bare, appoint a variety of different cats to new ranks to help him move the Clan forward. Tired of trying to point out that he wasn't apologizing anymore, instead showing action. If they wanted to be blind to his slow change, so be it.
Before, he might've put up a fuss, argued back with Floodfrost. He would've showed his fangs and unsheathed his claws. But stars, he was tired. If this cat refused to listen to when he had, in fact, owned up to everything that had happened at the beginning of his leadership, had apologized for it, had taken full responsibility, had admitted that he was way past wrong in the issue regarding ThunderClan... Well, de couldn't control how they perceived him.
As for the rest of it.... Kestrelstar simply lifted his chin as he continued to watch Floodfrost seemingly unravel before him. He spoke no words at the moment, instead waiting for him to finish. And it seemed, he had. Was he expecting a retaliation from the leader? Harsh words in retort? After a beat, Kestrelstar just sighed.
"If that is all, you can leave my den." His tone was neutral, albeit a smidge tired.
