The brown tabby queen padded in slowly from her walk, relieved to find that the nursery was warmer than the cold leaf-fall chill outside. She wouldn't want the cold to affect her kits.

Clearlight was starting to head towards her nest for a much-needed nap, until she noticed two small kits playing around. Oh, Clearlight loved it when kits played and socialized, but she didn't approve when they were destroying the walls of the den.

It was a major hazard. If the wall's structure collapsed, it would bury everybody in the nursery alive. Including Clearlight and these two kits.

"Tigerkit! Lightkit!" Clearlight called, worry in her voice, switching her direction to where the kits were. "What do you think you two are doing?"

"Killing the badger!" Tigerkit mewed
