RiverClan Re: RiverClan Streamstone

❄ Snowleap (he/them) ❄

➢ The tall Riverclan tomcat watched in silence and disbelief as the scene regarding Honeystream and Creekfoot unfolded. How could warriors stand to act like that? He couldn’t help but ask himself that, softly shaking his head before turning his gaze back to Kestrelstar, who soon returned to continue the meeting. His expression seemed to falter and his long ears flattened at the gray-furred tomcat’s news - a Riverclan kitten named Talonkit has died. The young tomkit had been found outside of camp, all alone in the freezing season of leafbare. Snowleap’s body seemed to tremble slightly at the thought. He hadn’t been a kitten when he had come to Riverclan during leafbare, but he hadn’t been an adult yet either. Something about that tugged at the dark-furred tomcat’s heartstrings as he looked down at his paws, thinking about things. His ears twitched at the sound of Kestrelstar announcing that he’d be leading a party to grieve for Talonkit. Snowleap had never been a part of something like that before, never being around when such a tragedy had happened in the past. Though the whole situation reminded him of when his mother once told him about his littermates who had died alongside him when he was born. Too weak. Too small. Too young for him to even know them.

This made him rise to his paws, leaving Raccoonear, Coralsplash and Ravenclaw where they had been all sitting together without a word. Snowleap made his way over to Kestrelstar, who was awaiting cats at the camp entrance. “I didn’t know Talonkit, but I would like to attend.” The young warrior said, his tone soft and sorrowful for the loss of a little one that he didn’t even know. He thought of Ryepaw and Spikekit, two young tomcats that he had been with while hearing a story from Brittleshore. Talonkit was probably a lot like them. Young, innocent, excited to hear stories and become an apprentice, just like any other Riverclan kit. He needed to do this. Snowleap felt like as a Riverclan warrior, he had a responsibility to mourn one of his own clanmates, just like many other cats were doing. His tail lashed behind him, these emotions confusing him.
