brindlefeather was not one to travel to the edges of the territory, let alone leave the comforting marshlands of riverclan. stars, no. her heart would race and her legs would become all shaky and she felt like she couldn't swallow. this was under different circumstances, though. despite it's racing heart, the warrior was stepping out of the territory with a small inhale. it'd been tracking the scent of riverclan - most definitely one of her clanmates - with the scent of death overlaying it.

now, she'd heard about the...mishap in the clearing, but was (perhaps blissfully) unaware of the fact the trespasser had been murdered. she'd seen the blood in the clearing, and chose to believe that the loner had just been injured, then chased off. as it neared the flower-filled plains, it was starting to think it was wrong.

from a distance, she could see a fluffy brown pelt, the one of a tom named otterfluff she believed, circlinh around something. quickening her pace, she immediately stopped in her tracks when she saw the corpse that was barely a few kit-steps away from the tom who was digging a grave. god, it felt like it might have a heart attack any second now with how fast it's heart was beating. it'd seen a body before, it wasn't abnormal for cats who lived in a clan, but it'd never seen one so..

it's mouth was tugged down in a frown as it forced itself to swallow down bile, shuddering. the torbie's tail swayed anxiously, attempting to take a deep breath. "ot-tterfluff," she coughed, dipping her head in a small greeting. "do y-you, uh..um..need he-help or..?" she questioned with widened eyes, voice quavering. stars, no! why did i do that? i don't want to help with a corpse!! regret was something brindlefeather often felt, but this time it was almost overwhelming.
