Re: The Thunderwillow
Jaystride wasn't going to worry about acknowledging what happened outside ceremonies, mostly because Jae doesn't feel like doing a giant reaction post. He didn't gave a damn about Nectarflame, Batpaw seemed to be satiated, and Deadflame was off pouting. Stagbound, Cloudyflight, Mistheart, Rainhound, Brightpath, Cornfuzz, Crowfire, Snakechaser were all named; and Jaystride cheered accordingly. Houndspirit .. wasn't a cheering matter, and he dipped his head to her remains.
The names settled, and Jaystride's gaze set on the remaining apprentices. There was another cat, not called forward, who needed to be addressed too. "Marshpaw, get over here!" [ @shivver ]
Outside of her, Cindersky had already called the apprentices forward, so he had no interest in repeating it like some of the others. He'd only wait a moment to give her a chance, before he launched into things.
"The ladies have covered much of what needed to be said: all of you have fought with the ferocity and dedication any warrior should strive to achieve. Though some of your training might not wholly be complete, being a warrior is more than a practiced skill, it's about having the courage to stand up, speak out, and fight for what you believe in. The generations before you have struggled in this, and I hope where they failed you can continue to succeed.
"Bumblepaw." He spoke his name, and something in his voice quivered - a swell of emotion as he watched the apprentice. A cat who undoubtedly proved himself to the Clan thousands of times over, whose name had been long since overdue. "Working with you has been nothing short of an honor, and I'm proud to be the cat giving you your name. Not only have you trained hard, but you have fought endlessly to push ThunderClan on track, have challenged others to be better, and have been an indisputable force of strength and pure determination. ThunderClan is beyond fortunate to have you."
"From this moment forth, you will be known as Bumblebreak. ThunderClan honors your passion and drive to breaking the cycle of those who've come before you, and we welcome you as a full warrior of the Clan." He'd let these words rest a moment, before stepping forward to embrace him. While Jaystride could have rested his head on Bumblebreak's, he intentionally opted to bop his muzzle against his forehead. They were equals and Jaystride would not put himself above him. "Seriously, you're a badass." [ @Slushie ]
Next, Battyboy.
"Batpaw," he regained his composure as he stepped back. Batpaw seemed the most hesitant about this, and Jaystride couldn't necessarily blame him. "I'm glad you took some time out of your busy brooding agenda to speak up, it's been refreshing to hear your take on current events." At face value, it might've seemed harsh - but Jaystride did appreciate it when cats shared their views, even if it was against the grain. "I'd like to hear more from you.
"From this moment forth, you will be known as Batblood. ThunderClan honors your keen eye and ability to remain clearheaded, and we welcome you as a full warrior of the Clan." He'd offer the nose bop to Batblood too, but didn't expect the crabcake to accept it. [ @Spotty ]
Now, onto Marshpaw. She was the cat Jaystride was least familiar with, though an itch in his pelt told him she once idolized a failed leader. Perhaps he was mistaken? At the very least, if it held any water he hoped her blind devotion had withered away with ThunderClan's shift in direction. "Marshpaw, your bravery in the battle was not gone unnoticed. RiverClan's warriors are known to be ruthless, and holding one off alone is not an easy task." He knew Marshpaw was not the most experienced apprentice either, so it was impressive she wasn't worse off when he knew very well RiverClan had been going for the throats. His own still stung-- partially concealed by blood matted fur.
"From this moment forth, you will be known as Marshowl. ThunderClan honors your dignity and energy, and we welcome you as a full warrior of the Clan." Another head bop offered, if she chose to accept it. "Like Batblood, I hope to hear your voice more. The Clan can benefit from cats sharing their opinions, open communication is important to ensuring everyone is on the same page."
Regardless of if she accepted the bop gesture, he'd step back to allow Cindersky or Sparrowflight to continue. Truthfully, he was pretty tired and wanted to take a nap, though sleep likely would not grace him for the foreseeable future. His shoulders being mince meat probably didn't help, like a tenderized slab of steak. This is not Jae thinking about what he's making when this post is done, no siree. "And like Sparrowflight has stated, being a warrior does not mean your training needs to be over. There is always room to hone your skills and improve your techniques."
With that said, he felt inclined to start some chanting. "Bumblebreak! Batblood! Marshowl!"
